  1. I really don’t know. But the targeting and kidnapping of civilians is never acceptable. It’d be one thing if they focused their attacks on military targets, but they are hurting their own cause with these attacks.
  2. https://x.com/jengriffinfnc/status/1710735779834593355?s=46&t=Jf_5fQharG6pLsB8ACvvjQ Fox News reporter tries to report facts and it seems to be upsetting the blue checkmarks.
  3. Because tv news sucks and only cares about ad spends. Actually reporting the news isn’t really a thing they are interested in doing. Infotainment
  4. It is fair to criticize the deal. It’s fair to point out that money is fungible. But $0 has been spent. None of it is in Iranian control. So the idea that it could have funded these attacks when *Iran does not currently have access to it* is a lie. So, in the end, people pushing the narrative that the money funded the attacks are indeed liars pushing an agenda.
  5. It wasn’t. But that doesn’t matter for people looking to push agendas.
  6. How long until clickservatives start complaining about all of the money we send to Israel to defend itself?
  7. The real question is: who was it great for?
  8. Not sure he’s worth it. Would be a mostly useless witness. No credibility.
  9. Are you unable to read and just make up whatever fits your narrative despite the facts? Liberals seem pretty upset about Biden’s move here. But I guess that’s inconvenient for you, so you just ignore it.
  10. They don’t, but they are certainly the best at it by a mile.
  11. 1. The GOP doesn’t want to solve it. A broken immigration system is an electoral benefit for them 2. The Dems are mixed on the issue. There isn’t enough of a consensus to agree on comprehensive reform that would win support of the entire caucus 3. If a bill was on the floor that would do a ton to rectify the issue, it would be very popular with the Dems (though unlikely to be unanimous) and would receive little to no support from the GOP. 4. GOP lying and scaremongering works. Dems are scared to propose rational solutions because the GOP will effectively hit them for being “soft.” Scaring people about “the other” is GOP 101 and they do it because it works. This is a good example of how things are broken in DC. There is little incentive to even try to fix this issue. About as likely as flipping a coin 100 times and it landing on its edge every time.
  12. “if elected, I will spend more taxpayer money on judges so more immigrants can come into this country” How well does that slogan do at the ballot box? No idea. I think they are scared to touch immigration because the GOP generally owns the issue even though their policies make no sense.
  13. A really big and easy way to make a difference would be to properly fund the immigration courts. If people who want to come here legally and/or seek asylum knew there was a speedy process to adjudicate their claims, they would be less likely to come illegally. If you’re fleeing violence or poverty and your choice is to wait for a decade or sneak in, you’re going to sneak in, even if the ultimate decision a decade from now would be to admit you.
  14. The GOP definitely doesn’t want it solved. All of their proposed policies do little to help the issue. Sometimes the Dems propose things that would help. Other times they don’t occasionally they do something dumb like this. Then again, if there was a bill on the floor that addressed the root causes of the problems, it probably would get a majority of Dem votes and less than 20 GOP votes in both houses.
  15. It would smarter to propose actual solutions that would actually improve the situation and when the GOP inevitably rejects them, campaign on that. This is just lazy, dumb, and wasteful.
  16. He can do that or he can not do that. The outcome will be the same either way. That being said, he should do it at least for the messaging.
  17. Spending money on a big stupid wall that won’t do much to prevent illegal immigration.
  18. But the thing that you're missing is that money went to people named Biden. So even though they don't have evidence that it went to Joe Biden, they can still pretend, can't they? Just for funsies?
  19. Curious as to why the party that pretends to be so concerned about child grooming would support someone who covered up sexual abuse...
  20. Nah. We're sitting back and enjoying the clownshow. When the Dems had a 5 seat majority, they actually passed meaningful legislation. When the GOP had a 5 seat majority, they collapsed into childish infighting and stupidity. Good times!
  21. https://x.com/Redistrict/status/1709302267097018696?s=20 Unrelated, but is there a way to force twitter to embed tweets? It seems to be pretty shoddy at it now.
  22. https://x.com/jose_pagliery/status/1709283109940703553?s=46&t=Jf_5fQharG6pLsB8ACvvjQ “Judge Engoron just ordered a gag order on Donald Trump for posting a false personal attack on the judge's clerk, attorney Allison Greenfield.“
  23. I dunno. They had a deal with him to avoid the shutdown and then he moved forward on the shut down anyway. So why would they trust him to hold up his end of any bargain?
