The Bills themselves could care less who they play, even if you do. Playing your starters to avoid a certain matchup is NEVER the motivation of a coaching staff. Keeping your players in rhythm is MUCH MORE important than dictating your future opposition, by playing your starters.

Plus the Bills were preparing for two teams during what was supposed to be Titans week. Remember, we all hated the Titans at that time?

The way the Steelers are playing they are reminding me of the Jets in 1986. The Jets started off 10-1 and fell off a cliff, only to win a playoff game against the Chiefs. Then they finally bowed to the Browns.

It’s a good thing that none of us are McDermott. He might see last years result as a total failure for resting his starters in week 17 and he might go all out no matter what we think even if the Bills are locked into the #2. You can easily risk losing your edge in this scenario too. Look at the Ravens last year. They rested their starters in their season finale and this is what basically cost them against Tennessee.

The Bills tried this last year and they lost to Houston anyways.
