  1. Pretty sure the state now is picking up the operating costs (from the county). The state revenues are largely from downstate and will have a negligible impact on most people around here. It's really not too bad of a deal for the county. The county spends a grotesque amount of money (+/-$40 million per year) on suburban and rural roads (by far the most in the state). It is repulsive. Unlike 90% of those roads, at least I will go to the stadium!
  2. The county also spends about $40 million per year on roads in the suburbs and none in the city. If this stadium will be built in OP, they should just push those roads back to the towns (Aurora, Newstead, Clarence, etc.) and that would roughly fund the County's share on a 20 year bond.
  3. What about the Texans/Chiefs? They both looked good yesterday.
  4. Denver is kind of on the edge of downtown but had a great tailgating set up with large screens, cook offs, and a bar serving $2 beers once you drink all of yours. It was walkable to their light rail with vendors, artists, and musicians lining a winding walkway. Then there was still tons of surface parking, which could be the case in downtown Buffalo as well.
  5. Bada Bing, Sidelines, or Sports City Pizza Pub. Grab an Airbnb in Allentown or if you've got cash stay at the Westin or Embassy Suites on Elmwood.
  6. Yeah I agree with Lynch. We had a pretty bad Oline and coaching (& management) most of that time. Fantastic athlete. I also think Schobel and Greer are good picks. Also, maybe Larry Centers or Sam Gash.
  7. It's interesting that people have this mindset of animosity towards the players. I don't really understand it. It seems to me that are to some extent being exploited for profit by the owners, like most laborers. Compared to most industries you could argue the level of exploitation is about the same. 50% for payroll? Not to mention, as others have pointed out, the average career is only 3-4 years and much of the earnings are taxed away, pay managers, are poorly invested, etc. (There's a Netflix documentary). I guess I understand it's difficult to sympathize with someone making hundreds of thousands of dollars to play a game. But the straight up animosity is bizarre.
  8. Not sure what makes you think that? It could become the norm among the elite players but the overwhelming majority of the players wouldn't get guaranteed deals unless it was required by the CBA.
  9. Yeah I think this is correct. RT has been a huge problem for a couple of seasons now. While our OL has been much better than it was over the prior 10 seasons it is not Top 5 in the league. Probably in the 8-14 range. The run blocking is superb, but the pass blocking is poor. Taylor gets shellshocked from how bad it is sometimes, causing him to evade pressure before its necessary and essentially play with happy feet. I forget what game (late in the season) but he seemed to play much better when he stood still in the pocket. Not holding my breath on Mills after the puff piece, if you guys haven't noticed, every player is getting one he was just first. That said I obviously hope he improves but I'm hoping Dawkins can start the year in that spot.
