This isn't the first few years of Allen being good. There is a different standard now. This team has one of the best QB's in history - the expectations NOW are a title. Look at the responses on this thread. Like people are incredulous there is any criticism after we beat a great team - like it erases everything else from the game. The bar needs to be higher. Or we can just be happy getting big regular season wins, and divisional round extis.

I'm happy about the win. But do you know what you're saying here? Because we got the W, everything is perfect, and there are no concerns.

I don't "hate" McDermott. I've been a supporter. This game shouldn't have been close, Period.

The coaching was WAY below Allen's level today. If you want to take the W and not care about what that means when we have to beat 3 or 4 good teams in a row, have at it.

You are being entirely too cavalier about this. We can just rejoice in the win, and ignore everything else. I'd love to do that.

Why is that acceptable? Every other great QB - there are games where they're not great, and win. It doesn't happen here.

This game was all Allen. I don't see how anyone could dispute that. That dude shouldn't have to be on the sideline wondering about an onside kick after a game like that. How can you POSSIBLY argue that the coaches were on his level, or that anyone was? Total denial in this fanbase.

I'll definitely take it, I'm glad we got the win. But this coaching staff is not off the hook w/ that. They need to match Allen's excellence - not rely on it.

Personally, I was watching a game where a QB had almost a perfect game - but if he had one turnover, we probably lose. This coaching staff CHOKED. No way to spin that.

I mean, what was the margin of error for Allen today? That was as perfect a game as I've seen from a QB in years - probably since the Pats playoff game. It came down to an onside kick.

The game was in doubt until the onside kick recovery.

I'm surprised by the negative reactions to the OP. That game should have been done by the time the 4th quarter started. Instead, we were all sweating out that onside kick at the end. Think about it. How is this a response?

I mean, people are saying the Lions are the best O - but we gave up 42 points. We did nothing against them defensively. Nothing.

Why, oh why - do we need him to put on the cape every single game? C'mon, coaches. Step UP.

I'm so sickened by that playcalling at the 1. Josh is going to bail these coaches out - but they don't deserve it.
