First KC comments I read were along the lines of "Worthy would have been there at 32 - would rather have taken Mitchell."
Might be a chess move by Beane. Won't know for some time.

I was worried the Pats would take Penix. I bet he turns out to be 2nd best out of this draft.

I think Maye is going to be good, which is unfortunate for us.
The good news is he won’t be as good as Josh Allen.
I think he has Trubisky written all over him.

No thanks, trade back with Carolina for their 2 seconds
I'm good trading up, or standing pat. A trade back would be tough.
We traded Stephon Diggs. We have 2 receivers who are basically #3 guys right now. We need not just an immediate starter at that position - but a guy who can be an immediate #1.

I'd be thrilled.
But I'd also steer clear of this board for a bit.

There is NO player other than a QB that I would trade all those picks for. None. The 28th, 60th and 2025 1st should be three starters, and 128-160-163 collectively have a good chance of being a fourth starter. There is practically no way that the guy you get at 9 could be more valuable than the combined value of four starters.
It's easy to agree w/ this. But, when you have a great QB - it's also hard to overstate how impactful a great WR can be, that you can pair w/ that QB for many years ahead.
A Montana/Rice kind of situation here in Buffalo would be scary for the league. With Kincaid, Cook & Shakir, and the fairly young line we have, it's almost like we wouldn't have to even worry about personnel on the offensive side of the ball for another few years.
I'm good w/ whatever tonight - but it won't bother me if we give up a real ransom for Odunze or Nabers.

Honestly, that was a bad GM. He had tunnel vision about Mack, so went WAY out of his way to find some flaw w/ Callahan (teammates at a b-day party? Did he ask about Mack's birthday?)
No objectivity, and very stubborn. I doubt that Browns team ended up doing anything.
-
If we have Nabers or Odunze at this time tomorrow, I'll be thrilled.
Losing the picks would hurt. But having a top receiver on a rookie contract will also allow us to add more through FA.
-
It's about health.
This team is as good or "close to as good" as any team in the league, especially with Allen.
SB should be the expectation.

By "unpopular," do you mean "insane"?

If we come up short again....why not?
I like McD, but we have certainly underachieved up until now. If we have another divisional round exit or worse, I think most would agree we can't waste more of JA's prime.
I would be thrilled if we hired Belichick if that was the case. He's a terrible GM - but the best coach of all time. Who says no to that?
I'm pulling for McD to come through, but if we underachieve again, this would have to be on the table (imo).

Great read! As good as any other mock out there.
Though, I would be surprised if we trade back instead of up. Just not that deep of a draft, per just about everyone.

So, this turned into another Mahomes & KC worship thread.
Cool.

Obviously what we do as fans don’t affect the games yet we still pray for our teams to win. Still cross our fingers before field goals etc. So yeah maybe not continually underestimating a team that keeps beating our team when it counts might help in some cosmic karma kind of way. But ok to each his own.Well, I actually do believe in the cosmic aspect of things. But not as far as me influencing anything by trolling opposing fans here.

Well you keep underestimating them every offseason and they end up killing our season. So maybe change that and a different outcome might occur. Just saying.Huh?
What are you even talking about? If Success the message board poster changes his outlook, the Bills will get past KC and win a SB?
Sounds easy.
I respect KC. You have veered into worship. To each his own.

KC getting hot at the right time seems to happen often. I’m of the personality that gives credit where credit is due. There’s no point in discrediting a team that has continuously knocked out our team in the playoffs. Give them credit and maybe receive positive karma in return.
I haven't discredited anything they've accomplished.

Not to get sidetracked but you said similar things last offseason. You said KC would take a step back and Cincy would be our competition. My response will be the same as last offseason: KC is the defending champs until proven otherwise. They will be the Bills (and all AFC contenders) biggest challenge.
Burrow got hurt, KC happened to get hot at the right time.
I'm sure you'll get some nice emojis from the KC fans here, though.

There is a reason teams don't 3-peat.
Some will chuckle - but our biggest competition next year is in Cincy, and Houston.

Anyone else wildly relieved that Diggs is gone?
Loved what he did for us, but he was & is the diva Vikings fans were talking about when we traded for him.

Floyd basically disappeared at the end of the season. Diggs was playing more like a #3 option. Tre was one of our best players - but has hardly been on the field the last few years.
Hyde & Poyer - love 'em both - were both noticeably slower. We may actually be better in the secondary now.
Morse will be missed. But not if McGovern can step up.
So, my answer would be "no."

I'd love it.
People are talking about trading for Aiyuk or Higgins. You get a guy like Nabers, you're giving up valuable draft picks - but w/ the money you save having a top tier talent on a rookie contract, you can fill holes in FA instead.

Don't be scared because the Sammy Watkins trade didn't work out.
Look at the Julio Jones trade, which DID work out.
Send a package of picks (including this year's and next year's 1st, plus a future 2nd and 4th, or whatever the value chart dictates) to Chicago for the 9th pick. Draft Rome Odunze. Allen has a blue chip, franchise WR on a cost controlled deal for five years. A top playmaker who can grow with Allen and be the driving force in this passing game for years to come.100% agree w/ this. I'm surprised the OP poll is split close to 50/50. I thought everyone would be on board w/ a trade up.
We're talking about getting a player who can be Allen's go-to for a decade, and give opposing DC's nightmares. They could be one of the legendary combo's of NFL history when all is said & done.
I wouldn't compromise on that possibility.

I think we'd have to give up way too much. But I'd also be wildly excited.
Ultimately, we could be talking about a combo nearly as legendary as Montana/Rice, for the next decade.
What's that worth?

I seriously doubt they were expecting BTJ to drop much further.
