Someone pointed out earlier - the fans wanted Humphrey over Basham, Metcalf over Ford, Lindelbaum over Elam... sometimes there is logic over the madness (less said about Rosen over Allen).
It's easy to cherrypick. If the fans ran this team, I kinda doubt we'd be as competitive.

I'm not a pro scout but I hit on Metcalf while Beane took Cody Ford ......and I hit on Jefferson over Diggs (watched a lot of LSU football over the years)......And I have Legette and Thomas (could have easily traded up for him) over Coleman. If I am correct with these guys, well I should be hired ..
How were you on the Allen pick?

Several here have watched a lot more than highlights and he can’t get open.
But he gets contested catches, too.
I just get tired of draft day experts. Scouts & Beane do this stuff 24x7 - no one here does anywhere near that.

So, we have the usual "I've watched 10 minutes of youtube on this guy! He'll be a bust" stuff.
Fans are SO predictable on draft day. None of you know anything - sorry.

I always hate rooting "against" young guys who just got drafted - but what the heck, they're millionaires, they'll be fine.
I hope Maye busts worse than Trubisky. I hope he's the next Leaf.

We sure could use him but the draft capital, salary, and injury history is a lot to put on the table.
I feel like almost every SF game I’ve watched, Deebo was down on the turf at some point with an injury.
I feel like his injury history would make him a little easier to trade for - I'd agree there is some risk there, but that has to be factored in to whatever we give up for him.

Man, I wish Diggs could have just been a cool dude and good teammate, so we wouldn't have all of this hand-wringing about WR....

I marginally like the decisions last night. Getting a 3rd while still putting yourself in a enviable position (#33) to trade down again. Yes we lose the 5th year option but besides a qb or pass rusher it wouldn't have mattered. Now if we don't land at least Franklin/ Mitchell or both, then the decision last night will be an embarrassment. And if Worthy hits in KC, the gnashing of teeth among the Mafia will go on forever. Alot rides on today and Worthy busting.
Yeah - I agree w/ that. I think KC gets Worthy regardless, but if he turns into a superstar, the perception will certainly be that the Chiefs got one over on the Bills yet again.

I can't anymore w/ the "you don't trade w/ your biggest rival - you just don't do it."
I crave more logic than that.

We already signed Deebo-lite in Samuel, this makes no sense. Aiyuk is the 49ers WR we should be interested in.
I wouldn't mind both Deebo-lite AND Deebo-normal, personally.

Allowed them to move up and take a player they actually wanted.
yes, they may have still drafted him had they not traded up. But, they may not have had that opportunity. Clearly they thought there was a need to trade up to ensure they got him. We made sure that could happen. Is another later round pick really that great? I guess time will tell. But at some point all these brilliant moves need to at least get us to the championship game.
I think KC gave up capital that they didn't need to give up. I don't think SF was taking Worthy.
We'll never know, of course. But I don't see it as lending KC any kind of helping hand. If anything, they gave us a 3rd rounder for nothing.

if championships is the basis of performance, they got the better receiver than we're going to get because so far the bills haven't won ***** and the chiefs have done a lot of winning the QB we gave them........ and so they took our WR also. Veach is over there laughing "you think they're dumb enough to do it again?" maybe mcd owes reid some favors or something i don't know but fool me twice.
Most KC fans I saw couldn't believe they traded up for a guy they could have easily gotten at 32.
Your response doesn't make much sense, imo.

The bills get taken advantage of by the smarter organizations, KC already duped them once who doesn't expect them to keep duping them every time? KC is Buffalo's daddy as the kids say and until it isn't true, it's true.
How did KC take advantage of us yesterday?

Like you said - there is going to be a run on WR's. If they really like a guy, I think they have to take him at 33. I like Mitchell, personally - but I know almost nothing.
UNLESS there is some trade in the works for an vet WR - which I also think is very possible. But they have to get a WR tonight.

It’s not about worrying about the Chiefs. It’s about not helping them. Of all the teams in the league that is the last team I would want to help. The only way you could possibly justify this is if you think getting a late round pick significantly improves the team. Just getting an extra pick doesn’t do that.
This is the same logic we saw for years with teams helping the pats with those stupid trades that allowed them to sustain a perennial Super Bowl winner.
I think this comes down to… you and others think the Bills FO are smarter than the one that has made the conference championship game every year, and won multiple Super Bowls. I’m of the opinion you don’t let that team do what they want in the draft because records currently show… they’re making better decisions than you.
How did we help the Chiefs?

For what it's worth - I went to one of KC's boards after the Worthy pick, and I'd say at least half the sentiments were "we could have gotten Worthy at 32," and a good portion were "why did we trade up and not take Mitchell?"

Secretly, I was kind of hoping they'd trade up into the top 10 for one of the top WR's.
But, that would be pretty careless given our situation. JA is getting paid now - we need more picks, not fewer. Beane is playing it smart.
-
So, if we got DeJean - does he move to safety?

Worthy would have been a great add with Allen, do you disagree?
We need a #1.
Worthy isn't that guy. It would have been illogical for the Bills to take a guy ONLY to keep him away from KC. I'm so glad Beane doesn't think that way.
-
We need a #1 WR - not a 165 pound gadget guy/speedster who has the dropsies.
-
You don't trade with KC!!!
Well, unless you're making them give up draft capital for a player they very likely would have gotten by staying at 32.
If I'm a KC fan, my complaint today is that we gave the Bills a 3rd rounder for nuthin'.

Beane got worked on these deals, both of them he did not receive equal value…. This organization is gonna waste Josh Allen, smh
How did he get "worked?"
Unless we were taking Worthy - which we could have - this was all a plus. Where is the negative?

The Bills trading down makes sense.
KC trading up for Worthy makes no sense. There is an excellent chance he would be there at 32 if they just stood pat.
But because of Mahomes and McDuffie, I'm sure the national narrative will be "KC did it to the Bills again" for awhile. But I simply don't see the negatives here. If both KC and Buffalo stood pat, we probably both end up w/ the same WR's we're getting anyway. And they gave up draft capital, while we gained it.
