They don’t have to overlap, all those players mentioned were elite weapons. They went 7-9 3 straight seasons because of their defense. It was historically bad. Brady threw 40 INT’s in 48 games. It’s roughly the same ratio. You aren’t going to carve up defenses as much in the playoffs as you would in the regular season simply because of the competition.

If we don't make the playoffs, then I can see him being fired. An early exit in the playoffs....seat is very hot.

It 17 playoff games, Drew Brees threw 35 TD's to 14 INT's with a passer rating of 97.1 while with the Saints. Yes the Saints always had loaded offenses. Brees has had Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston, Michael Thomas and Brandin Cooks to throw too. He had Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara in their primes. The problem was they ignored defense for the longest times. They missed the playoffs multiple times because of it.

Even though he hasn't won it, if we are saying right now, it would be Mike Shanahan. He got to the Super Bowl with Jimmy G. He almost got there with Brock Purdy. All time, it would be Belicheck.

Have to disagree here. He had Brees for about 12 seasons with that offensive talent and lost constantly in the playoffs, especially against lesser QB's like Case Keenum.

I'm not sure if that's a better comparison. McDermott would need to lose his next 8 playoff games in a row to match Marty's playoff winning percentage. Marty went to the playoffs 18 times and only won 5 games.

Dude come on. Marvin Lewis was 0-7 in the playoffs. Sean McDermott isn’t winless like Lewis was.

He is not designing plays where 3 people are in the same vicinity. Even little league coaches like myself know that. That’s a mess up or miss communication. I agree about RB’s not involved in the passing game. But James Cook did average 5.7 ypc last year. Not worried about our run game.

Josh Allen did too but he came in early because Peterman was a disaster. Dion Dawkins also started 11 games but didn’t put him on the original list because he split time for a bit with Cordy Glenn. But still started 11 games.

They haven’t even won a playoff game with him.
