  1. especially when a draft pick is tied to them, teams are more motivated to pay less by factoring in the lost pick value.
  2. Always go young at DB, WR and RB.
  3. It's actually a sneaky way to secure a long term deal. Tender below their value to encourage another team to negotiate a long term deal then simply match it.
  4. I believe it gives the Bills a right to match outside offers otherwise they take the compensation value if we don't. 5th for Mike and nothing for Groy. Either way, we keep them unless another team really blows them out with a terribly bad team deal.
  5. I don't know why everyone is getting all pissy over the Patriots offseason, it's not like we were one piece away from surpassing them.
  6. DB is a young mans position. I like the direction the defense is headed.
  7. I'm just pointing out that he wouldn't get a pick back, teams would just wait for him to be cut.
  8. so given the choice for taking a declining player for 1 year at $4 million or drafting a player who is likely improving for $1 million for 4 years, what do you think most teams would pick?
  9. if teams are unwilling to give a mid round pick for Romo (more productive at far greater cap hit) than I definitely don't think an old center gets you anything.
  10. I suspect the Patriots sudden desire to spend picks and money for immediate help has more to do with trying to win again while Brady is still capable rather then a continuation of brilliant Asset management.
  11. Extra compensation picks is a byproduct of teams who draft and develop well. Its because they are able to develop the kind of depth in positions that they can let players go in free agency and get the picks, not because they intentionally plan on losing players just to gain picks.
  12. Maybe, its too early to tell. But at least with the Pegulas they are still in Buffalo.
  13. Having a great line would really help develop a QB. Just saying.
