When i was Jamaica I learned they call speed bumps sleeping policemen. Be safe and have fun.

Amazing, I'd never heard that term until yesterday and now again today. Me and a buddy, originally from Cuba, carpool a few days a week. The route we usually take has been shut down by road work so we take another way. I told him there is a shortcut but the road has speed bumps... and then he told me that in Spanish it means sleeping policemen.

I just edited my post above, I saw Crimson there last fall, just tremendous. Going in, I wasn't sure about the 3 drummer line-up up front, but I should've just trusted Fripp.

Yeah, you never know what Fripp has dialed up but that's the beauty of KC.

The TR Utopia tour has me intrigued, I read that it is the original Utopia from back in the mid 70's. True? They are playing in St. Pete so that one is on my radar.

Saw TR twice, once with Ian Hunter at the now defunct Agora Ballroom in Tampa, literally sat 12' from the stage at tables and the other time with Ringo's All Starr Band.

I just bought a single order of wings from Duffs and it was over $14!

Jeez I knew food prices are going up and I haven't been to Duffs in a couple months...

but 14 bucks for 10 wings!

$11.99 seems to be the norm at Duffs... you must have ordered death sauce: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/52ddad0ae4b01d8ef4e51a2e/t/5964d54eccf2100d17e3fed0/1499780432869/Depew_DineIn_July2017_reduced.pdf

Whoever handles these athletes ought to inform them on protocols for handling the US flag.

White is a great athlete, but his handling of our flag after his run was beyond cringe-worthy.

Really made me uncomfortable. I couldn't wait for the video to end.

I felt the same way, that really pissed me off. I hope we don't need that medal in the end.

  5. If you made $54,000 or less you might be able to get them done for free through United Way, 855-698-9435 to make an appointment.

If you are an AARP member you can get them done for free, just call  them and ask where in your area to go. You only have to be over 50 years old to belong to AARP lol.

If you earned $66,000 or less you can use MyFreeTaxes.com , lets you file both federal and state taxes.

Hope this helps out some people here...

Just fought with an hardboiled egg for what seemed like an eternity to rid the bastard of shells...yesterday's egg, cooked in the same lot, was much easier to peel, however.  What the hell gives?

I always had a problem with this too... watch a dozen youtube video's, etc.. and find that your best bet is to let the eggs come to room temp, get the water boiling, add the eggs, add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, then close the lid and turn it off. In 20 minutes they peel easily. I do get what the other poster said about fresh eggs though, it is true, they are a tougher peel. For some reason the vinegar method works here. I roll them before I peel them too if that is any help.

    They taste like mini BLT's

    • Cut the top off the cherry tomatoes and remove the seeds and core
    • Crispify the bacon and mince
    • Mix bacon, mayo, and green onions in a bowl
    • Pipe the mixture into the tomatoes and serve cold.

Warning, these go fast so make a lot!

Sounds easy enough and yeah I bet these go fast. Thanks!

Mcdonalds fries are a national treasure.

They are a very impressive company that has killed it for so long.

Their fries Used to be great... they aren't even whole potatos anymore, they are mush in the shape of a french fry. The Mcd's on transit rd by broadway was the last time I ever had anything great from that place. Their food sucks... but I will say, the coffee is not bad at all.

    McDonald’s.

Its such a ridiculously impressive company. I think its annual revenue is more than the next 20 competitors in its industry COMBINED (that includes panera, starbucks, wendy’s).

They have the nastiest "food" around... for real. That is dog food at best and I wouldn't want my dog eating it either. This is your favorite?

    Yes, more or less.

The first few times I used Lyft it seemed inferior but they have caught up;  at least here in San Francisco.  Not sure if they are as well established in every market.

I can turn on the Uber app at any time of day and there are at least 6 of them within 2 miles or so... usually it's more. 5 minute wait time normally, I'm outside of Tampa. I should download the Lyft app to compare prices around here.

  12. In the grand scheme of things Uber isn't really all that expensive... most cities have a minimum fare for a ride and it varies quite a bit depending on where you are. In Tampa I think the base is $6.70 or so. For a 6 mile ride it is between $10-$11... not bad at all if you absolutely have to get somewhere. Plus, if you are out drinking that $11 is cheap compared to the thousands a Dui will set you back.

My shout out is to Google, not necessarily for searching the internet for stuff... but the Google Maps app on my phone. That app has gotten me out of a lot of trouble throughout the years especially in states/cities that I had no Idea of how to get from A to B.

My co-worker lives in Attica, was a big fan or the Attica hotel. Unfortunately the deal to reopen fell through. She says Louie's lounge is right around the corner from the hotel on 98. American Legion is right across the street from Louie's. She prefers Louie's.

That is odd... I know that town like the back of my hand. There are too many out of towner's related to whatever goes on in the prison to not have a to go place to stay a night or a week. I suppose they could always go to Batavia but that is only semi close.

btw... the best weed ever sold in Attica was at the barber shop on prospect.

I’ll be in Attica in two weeks!  Unfortunately my favorite watering hole, The Attica Hotel, closed. So if anyone has any ideas where I can go instead..........

And before you all get any wise ideas. Thanks for the advice but I don’t need any advice. Especially when it comes to places to get my drink on in a ten mile radius of where I’m staying.  :D

Used to like the Tip across from the prison but its gone now... the old T&C is still on Old Attica Rd but I think its called the Blue Dog Saloon or something like that. The Bennington bowling alley is within 10 miles...
