Umm, what I know about it at this point is there was a guy named Henry, and there was a clubhouse. Oh, and my mother still makes fun of me for it....

This one, I remember it now looking at it, it was actually Henry Huggins:

There was a book I read in the 5th grade, and the title of the book escapes me. It was a bunch of stories about various animals living through the winter season in the forest that they all resided in.

One particular story involved several of the animals attempting to hunt each other down, all at the same time. Trailer the Mink in pursuit of a rabbit, Killer the Marten pursuing Trailer, and Fisher the Bold pursuing Killer.

Is there anyone here who might remember anything like this? These are the only characters I can remember from this book and I can't remember the title of it.

I've tried trying to find those names using  google and nothing comes up. Any help would be appreciated.

    What year are we talking?

The Bills championship season was '65, so that is the one I choose.  So it was before the Superbowl but I think they were better in 65.   Of course in a "should have happened thread,"  we could just as well have them playing for the Profootball championship two years in a row.   I was always disappointed that they won the year before.  Especially after guys like McDole carried on beyond their peak years with other teams and still performed at a high level.

Came reasonably close to having it named the Wilson Trophy...

For sure these, and the Great Brain series. I read a lot as a kid, used to take out a half a dozen books a week from the library. Anything to do with the outdoors or indians was good too, stuff like Rascal or how to survive in the woods kind of stuff.

  5. Some of you may remember Nate from the BBMB, have met him, or are buds with him. He does the Roswell ride every year, 60+ miles (this is on a bicycle in case you didn't know). If you'd like to contribute to his goal of $1,500 in the spirit of finding a way to defeat cancer I would encourage you to do so. Major Bills/Sabres fan, a true WNY'er... and a good guy to boot.

Here is the link to his Roswell page should you be interested in donating. It can be anything, $5 or a Million... but his goal is to at least hit the $1,500 mark. Thanks for reading this.

I still get choked up watching that video....

Any Bills fans here asking "was it worth making the playoffs?", watch this video.

Watch Kyle Williams reaction. Watch fellow Bills fans reactions. Watch all the grown men and women brought to tears. Look at what it meant to this entire city and collective fan base.

Yes, it was worth making the playoffs.

I had showed a different version of this to one of my best friends, who happens to be a cowgirls fan, and it choked him up too. Basically what he said was "wow, holy....",  keeping it in the coc here.

The very best video i’ve seen all year. Fantastic it brought a tear to my eyes. What great season of emotion and determination. Also the snow game against the colts was so epic and fun.

It got me too and probably thousands upon thousands of others. One thing is for sure, we will all remember where we were when that happened. The wife actually came in to check on me... I was pretty loud :-)

...Fred Goldman says he's VERY credible.....and now back to your topic...I've shared my opinion numerous times entering year 56 of following this club about the RW chronology....he invested $25 grand in 1960 for the fledgling AFL, a big sum then but he was wealthy from trucking and insurance....he loaned 400 grand to the Raiders to keep them afloat and offered a loan to the then Boston Patriots but they declined.....back to back AFL Championships ensued in 1964 & 1965......so as a young 40 something entrepreneur, he sat back and watched his investment grow with zero reinvestment...hence, he EARNED the "cheapskate absentee owner from Detroit" moniker for the 70's and 80's.....and then his interest other than investment grew in the 90's bringing Polian on board.....take it from there.........

I have seen many post this... the Bills were founded/established in  October of 1959, not 1960.

I recently learned about AXS via following Dan Rather on Facebook.

I tuned in last night to watch his interview with Robert Plant.  It was awesome.  That was followed by a Pink Floyd documentary which was also very good.

Looking at their schedule - and talking to friends - I've also learned that they show a lot of concerts/performances by great artists.

I don't know how popular this station is, so I just thought I'd throw it out there - as I know this place is full of fans of great music.

I watched it, excellent interview for sure... skipped the Floyd doc though, had seen it before. Never had this channel until I got Sling a few months ago.

    ? You!!

    ?

Maybe you suck at buying cars, but I don’t.  Helps to have an experienced salesman guide you through the process, so you know approximately how much “wiggle room” the dealer has on the vehicle.  I run this ****!

Helps to have an experienced salesman who you know personally guide you through the process... the stories he's told me about selling cars would shatter your brain. Mainly, there really is no sale going on ever... no matter how many balloons we have out front or how many times you've seen/heard our commercials. Trade ins, for the most part, are treated like auction items... unless it's something that is exceptional and can make it as a resale at the dealership.

For spending so much money on a car we are treated like a cheap whore when it comes down to actually obtaining one... we are better than that people, never buy Brand New.

It's a deal from 2008.  Before any of this stuff was imagined. Before hotspots, 4g, streaming, music, etc.   I got it on my blackberry at the time. It was great!  And I kept the service and all. They call.me every few months trying to talk me in to a new phone for free when I get a new contract.  I refuse. I pay out of pocket full price for an unlocked phone for that reason.

A buddy of mine has that plan, and like you they aren't giving it up for anything... grandfathered in. Think they are running  6 different phones on it... mom, dad, 3 kids, and a fiance'. Dumb question but I really don't know, you can run a smart tv off of your hotspot, correct?

What do cord cutters do for internet?

I assume if I ditched cable, Comcast would just double the bill for internet, and I assume the small providers don’t have nearly as fast connection.

Everyone's situation is different. Here, she Has to have internet and a landline phone (which we've never used, its just the connection that is needed) for her job. She works out of the house for a large worldwide company. Think that bill is $100 a month or so through Verizon or whatever they are called now, Frontier I think... that bill has to be paid regardless. So, by cutting directv and using Sling we are saving $75 a month for more tv than both of us combined would ever watch.

Something I failed to mention earlier is that there are a ton of apps that you can download to your smart tv for free. I watched a pretty cool youtube video on that a month ago or so, I'll post it so it might help some people see the seemingless endless boundaries the new wave has.
