  1. Continued good health my man. This one is for you. Consider it a 1st set opener....not the encore:

Must be getting early clocks are running late
Faint light of the morning sky looks so phony
    Dawn is breaking everywhere
Light a candle curse the glare
Draw the curtains I don't care 'cause it's alright

I will get by I will get by
I will get by I will survive

I see you've got your fist out say your piece and get out
Yes I get the gist of it but it's alright
Sorry that you feel that way the only there is to say
Every silver lining's got a touch of grey

I will get by I will get by I will get by I will survive

It's a lesson to me the eagles and the beggars and the seas
The ABC's we all must face try to keep a little grace

It's a lesson to me the deltas and the east and the freeze
The ABC's we all think of and try to win a little love

I know the rent is in arrears the dog has not been fed in years
It's even worse than it appears but it's alright
Cow's giving kerosene, kid can't read at seventeen
The words he knows are all obscene but it's alright

I will get by I will get by I will get by I will survive

The shoe is on the hand that fits, there's really nothing much to it
Whistle through your teeth and spit 'cause it's alright
Oh well a touch of grey kinda suits you anyway
And that was all I had to say and it's alright

I will get by I will get by I will get by I will survive

We will get by we will get by we will get by we will survive
We will get by we will get by we will get by we will survive

  2. Well, thank God this wasn't me but here's a walking story.

Grateful Dead tour '91. We had two vans. Our friend Rob wound up in the other one. When we stopped for gas, everyone got out and somehow they spaced him and left. We saw him after the show and he said he walked 20 or so miles with no shoes to get near the show.

Of course they played "Walkin Blues" that night. Rob said a song never meant so much to him. LOL.

  3.

I just noticed this thread. Congrats to your girlfriend! This really can be a sensational community.

And I notice you keep calling her "an ace". Does that make you a pain in the ace?

    I kill me.

LOL! The second show is different from the first I imagine.

  4.

    Congrats.

Without naming names, how did the TBD poster influence her getting the job?

Well, he IM'd me about her. I forwarded her resume to him and he got her an interview (which I believe he sat in on). She stole the show from there. Without the connect {The Wire slang) it wouldn't have happened. She really is an ace. I'm so happy for her and they just got a great addition. Sometimes....the home team wins.

  5. UPDATE!!!!!

She got hired in direct result of a poster (who may want to be anonymous) on TBD. Nice bump in pay that will make her life much easier.

We may never win a Super Bowl, but all of you on here are the Super Heavyweight Champions of a fan community.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bills!!!!

  6. I love the access he gets. I mean, c'mon, not many people can get Peyton on the phone for an exclusive 90 minutes after the final gun. He certainly is plugged in.

However, he can be maddening as an apologist for the league. He also is a little pretentious with his non-football observations. A week Haiku? "Mr. Starwood Preferred Travel Member?" Whatever Pete. Stick to giving me inside info.

That being said, his is the first thing I read on Monday mornings.

  7. Finale wrap up:

Everyone dies except the 2 chicks. The kids whose parents were killed during the 92 riots for the blue diamonds killed the guy at the beginning. Vaughn was killed by the Hispanics who were selling drugs at his club because he burned the club down and, therefore, ruined their deal. Farrell was killed by the dirty cop who was involved in the diamond heist who was trying to cover his tracks. The mayor was killed by his son (most likely) and his son took over. Vaughn also wiped out the Russian who screwed him over before he was killed and he stole that $12M. Farrell's murder was the dumbest in IMO. Who the hell would go to their sons school to try and say goodbye when he knows everyone was looking for him? Obviously that's a main place they are going to stake out. So stupid. Finally, Farrell did end up being the kids father. Disappointing ending to the show. I didn't hate the show as much as others, but it certainly could have been much better.

I so agree with this. I stuck with it and after last weeks episode (7 which was the best one IMO) I thought I was going to be rewarded. No chance. The finale had so many aspects that were not thought out and seemed thrown together without a hint of logic (Farrell going to his kids school when he's the most wanted man in Cali) The whole season seemed to have blurred vision in what they wanted to accomplish. The storyline had great potential but it came up short almost every time.

  8. How about two Bills that you really didn't want to meet.

1986- Jimbo and Greg Bell shared a condo in East Amherst. They always left the garage door open. We (myself and a fellow degenerate friend) hit that place 4 or 5 times that Summer cleaning out the frig, scoring cases of beer and bottles of champagne and vodka each time. I'm sure we would have caught a beating if they caught us, but all that really happened was the cops telling us to quiet down when we were singing Elvis songs too loud on the playground.

    Ah.....youth.
