Kansas City at Buffalo in the Divisional Round!
Straight Hucklebuck replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really need Taron to get cleared. That obviously allows the Bills to field Poyer-Hyde-Dane-Douglas along with Johnson. That is a good enough secondary. If Taron doesn't go then I don't think Elam bumps down and then it's Cam Lewis out there all day. -
Davis, Benford, Rapp and Spector all OUT

He definitely got smoked on that 2nd touchdown. Just stood there. -

Would it be Cam Lewis rotating at the 3rd safety? As long as Damar Hamlin doesn't see the field on defense. -
The expert media and their excuses
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Stroke 17's topic in The Stadium Wall
First it was Burrow has moved into a tier only Mahomes is on. Then the entire summer was endless Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. Every single day he was the lead story. He was going to take over the conference. Rodgers lasted 4 snaps and then it became he’ll come back just in time to save the Jets. Burrow got hurt 2-days into Training Camp and it was brushed aside as he always gets hurt in Training Camp and the Bengals always start slow. Then it was Tua in Week 3. The Dolphins had found the perfect QB for their system. Then the media moved onto Jalen Hurts. The Eagles weren’t as dominant as last year, but Hurts had matured. Then came the 49ers game and that ended. Then it became Dak, look at this scoring, Dallas is for real. Then it went to Brock. The 49ers are dominant, he doesn’t make mistakes, until the 4-interception game against the Ravens. And now the media has settled on Lamar. QB of the best team in the league. -

When Sal C asks his same stupid question about who McDermott is going to declare out tomorrow, I hope he doesn't give an inch and say all have a chance. -

If you go yards/game, taking away Week 18. Qtr 1 Chiefs 393 Qtr 2 Chiefs 370 Qtr 3 Chiefs 325 Qtr 4 Chiefs 338 So, give it to them. They put 26 on Miami and put up 409 yards. They're capable. But it's clear that outside of Mahomes and Kelce, the rest of their skill talent is not high-end (49ers type) talent. There is no Deebo Samuel on the Chiefs. With Skyy Moore coming back it adds another avenue for Mahomes to take. But Hardman, Moore, MVS, Toney would have to have a game that they haven't had all season to play at an elite level. None of those other guys have been game changing players this year. I am hoping Benford can play. -

If we break down the Chiefs scoring by quarter, and eliminate Week 18, here is the breakdown: Q1 - 25.3 ppg Q2 - 21.5 ppg Q3 - 22.0 ppg Q4 - 20.8 ppg So they have the potential to blow the Bills out on a good day, I don't dispute that. But this is not an offense that got better and better throughout the year despite Mahomes' promise. Rice improved, Kelce got worse, Pacheco is pretty good, but he is not a Nick Chubb lead the league in rushing type talent. -

Look at how far off we were playing on 13-seconds. The Chiefs showed the Bills what would happen on the first play to Tyreek Hill. It was an immediate 15 yards. And they came out and did the same thing on the next play. -

I guess Nick Wright can look down the road and tell us what Kansas City will look like in 4 years, 8 years. Apparently they'll draft another Tight End as a good as Kelce immediately, Chris Jones will never get old, Isaiah Pacheco will be Emmitt Smith. No other AFC QB - Burrow, Stroud, Lawrence, Allen, Lamar, Herbert will ever win a Super Bowl. The Chiefs will win 15-straight Super Bowls apparently and maybe Mahomes will be 45 and still playing. Nick Wright's bar of good quarterback's is: Pat Mahomes. That's it. Nobody else measures up. If that's the case, why does any other fan of anyone outside of the Chiefs even watch the games? -

I guess we should just get into our fear bunker now and just let the tornado sweep us away. -

Benford is the only one I’m holding out hope for. Reported as a small meniscus tear. Rapp hasn’t practiced since Miami. Gabe has a Grade II PCL and given that a rolled ankle in Week 2 plagued him all last season according to Beane, I have no hope he’s coming back. Spector is always hurt. Benard’s ankle sprain didn’t look that bad, certainly not a bad as some basketball players who step on other player’s feet and the ankle rotates to the floor. -
The pass offense still doesn't look right...right?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have no #2 WR. You're getting 0-0 now regularly from that position. Past that, Harty is in for a few pays and you don't see him again, Isabella got 1 target last week. This is the problem. The line is there. The QB isn't changing. You have a competent OC. There are no dependable WRs past Diggs and Shakir. This started in 2021 when Beane signed Emmanuel Sanders. That marked the end of trying to find another top-flight WR to pair with Diggs. Three seasons later and we're still in that boat. Kincaid mitigates this some, but there is no size or speed at WR. AMEN - YES -
What is your gut telling you right now?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was much more pessimistic about the Bengals last year. I felt sick to my stomach all week last year, I knew we were going to get rocked. This game, right now, just laser focused on the practice report and who is going to tape it up and try to play in this game. The Bills know what’s on the line and how big this game is. I think guys are going to do everything they can to get back. And last week McDermott was willing to let things go into the weekend on Douglas and Dodson so that tells me they understand the urgency and are willing to take it to the 12th hour. -

I agree with all of this. Cook for sure. As much as they have invested in running back (Singletary, Moss, Cook, Hines) they another guy. WR is where Beane has missed the mark since 2021. Signing Emmanuel Sanders was the first acceptance to not try very hard after Diggs. For this Sunday, Harty has to play more. For as good as Sherfield was on the fly ball against Miami, he went right back to a 0-0 with more playing time against the Steelers. The Bills must prioritize more speed and playmaking around Allen, and the Bills desperately need a taller WR with ball skills. We’re too small at the position. -

Looking like that Rapp calf is more severe than first reported. -

I agree with this. None of these injuries looked awful on replay. I think Benford, Douglas and Rapp make it back. Historically, Taron Johnson has come back quickly from these things, even last week with Ty Johnson he took a much harder hit and was cleared by Friday all on limited practices. Bernard I can’t see coming back in one week. Again, it wasn’t some egregious looking ankle sprain though. It rolls, but you don’t see some horrible snap. Dodson will have to wear a harness and I would expect less than optimum performance, Spector is reported to be ok. I don’t know about Gabe. If a rolled ankle in Week 2 explained an entire years worth of up and down production (doesn’t explain 2023) then I can see him not making it back for this one too. -

It's amazing to me too because going into Miami we were 95% of the team we were opening day minus Matt Milano, and counting Douglas as Tre White. Since that point we've lost 10-12 people. It's absurd. -

For the people on ChiefsPlanet, and Bengals fans are like this too, why do they act like they helped build the team? Like you were in the room convincing Brett Veach to draft Mahomes when he originally had Trubisky on his card. You're common fans with no impact on the decisions that actually get made on Sunday's. But like Bengals fans, the entitlement and arrogance just go through the roof. -
Injuries vs Steelers - Update from McDermott

Then use more DTs and get your hands up to bat passes down. The Bills couldn't get Rudolph on the ground. Clearly their OTs are the weakest links of their offensive line. Just play off every WR 29-yards. That should work. -
Kansas City at Buffalo in the Divisional Round!
Straight Hucklebuck replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Umm yes he’s an absolute ghost, yes I saw his one spin move to the inside where he attempted to shove Rudolph and Rudolph escaped and then drew a 15-yard flag on Floyd. I also saw the “pressure” on Rudolph where he flushed and couldn’t catch him right at the end of the game. The Bills keep using him as this “closer” and really we’re just playing 10 on 11 when he’s out there. He’s done nothing all year. The Bills weren’t getting pressure on the Steelers, there was no pass rush, so I don’t expect much in Kansas City, but they have been able to bat down balls at the line. You’re going to need Joseph in there at times against Pacheco, but Phillips gives you 6’6” and can get his arms up. -
