US leads the world in reducing carbon emissions over the last decade... Hmmmmm.... who was our President been for most of the last decade???? Despite all these regulations Trump is lifting on things like gas mileage, most car companies are sticking with trends of improving gas mileage because they understand whatever regulations Trump lifts are likely to be brought back... and they already started the process, so why reverse course at this point? Yikes, this place is horrible... really brings out the worst in people.

I'd ask for #2 the same thing he was asked when asked if he would commit to reparations like a couple of the other candidates... what exactly are reparations and how would they be implemented? Yes, I could get behind some form of reparations considering the massive economic disparity that's existed in our country since its founding and has persisted even after the Civil Rights Act of the 60s in subtle, but still pernicious practices like red lining. But I would need specific details. I'd get behind something, though, yes. I'd like it to include Native Americans and Hawaiians, too.

She worked in the Public sector as an Assistant to the Mayor of Chicago, Assistant Commissioner of Planning and Development, Executive Director for the Chicago office of Public Allies, Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago developing the University's Community Service Center, worked as executive director for community affairs and then as Vice President for Community and External Affairs for Chicago Hospitals. She's super smart, graduating from Princeton and then Harvard law school. She's very well-spoken, which would help in addressing not only the public, but also in foreign relations. She's a fantastic role-model. That more than checks any boxes she would need, especially now that so many boxes have been eliminated with our current president. If Michelle Obama ran for President, she would win. If she ran against Trump, it wouldn't surprise me if he would bow out knowing the inevitable outcome. But she's not running, so no point in discussing it, really. But I was challenged to answer a question, so I did.

Was Donald Trump? A business is not a country. Were Barack Obama or John F. Kennedy? They were Senators and never executives of anything. I'd say being up close and personal as 1st Lady is a damn positive notch on the qualification scale if she checks other boxes.

I love the aspirational ideals of the Green New Deal, but not all parts of it essentially for how it would or would not be put into practice. I absolutely believe in man's influence on our climate. Considering how much we've changed the world in the last century, I believe it's foolish not to. Plus, there's science. I absolutely believe everyone should get health care and I'm fine paying more in taxes for it. Our taxes go to things like our highways and bridges and airports and trains and education system and social security and so on... they should absolutely go towards people getting health coverage, too. I absolutely believe there's been a history of repression of women, of people of color, and of indigenous people (Native Americans, Hawaiians, etc.) that's systemic in our very culture that needs to change. If you think I'm a Democratic Socialist because of those things in particular, fine. But no, I do not consider myself a Socialist.

She has 8 years of being a 1st hand observer and secondary executive to the President of the United States. C'mon man...

Has there ever been a poll of the average age over here at PPP? Just curious. Seems it might shed some light on some of the things I read over here. Boy the way you present these things just tells me how wildly I differ in opinion from most of PPP, in all likelihood. This country has waves of young voters who are likely to come out and actually vote, just like they did a few months ago. Those young voters ain't votin for Trump.

Not at all. Many here seem to be, though. Don't worry, I will when I want I actually think that's the ticket the DNC is kinda hoping for. They can sell Biden as largely an extension of a former President who's still hugely popular and as a bridge to something more progressive in Beto. Obama would have been the ideal candidate, but completely understandable why she refuses to run.

Again, I disagree, and I think you're looking at this the wrong way. We have a year and a half for the Democratic candidates to sort themselves out in the same way the Republican candidates sorted themselves out in that field. Remember how loaded that field was and how incredibly contentious it was? Remember all those "never trumpers" and how quickly they reversed course when he became the candidate? There's so much time for this all to sort itself out, and it will. Trump won, in part, because of a massive miscalculation on Clinton's part to not campaign according to the Electoral college. I don't think the next candidate makes the same mistake. As far as candidates go, I would say a Biden/Beto ticket probably has the strongest chance to win, followed by Harris and then the field. I can name candidates I favor over others. The ideal Democratic candidate has already committed to not running for President. But those candidates will all sort themselves out come election time. No matter what the situation is right now, it's meaningless in relation to November of 2020, when the election actually happens. In the meantime, while Trump's base is fiercely loyal, it's maybe 1/3rd of the country, while the rest of the country is moving more and more left. I don't want the extreme left candidates like Warren or Bernie to be the Democratic candidate, personally, thought I'd vote for them over Trump in a heartbeat.

Sure looks like you're insinuating "if it weren't for the Fed, Trump would have his 4%-6%." Sounds like an excuse. For the record, I think the entire notion that a President is solely or even primarily responsible for the economy in most cases is pretty ridiculous, but the fact that those who want to give credit to Trump for the economy are giving excuses like the Fed for why we still aren't even above 3% is just silly considering the last time our economy was over 3% annual GDP Federal Interest Rates was in a year when our Interest Rates were higher than they currently are at the beginning of the year and were raised over 2% in the span of that same year.
