I’d feel so much better about America if huge protests over massive government overreach and restriction placed on people’s everyday lives in the name of “ safety” due to Covid were happening around the country. Far too many are okay with the removal of their freedom if the government tells them its in the name of “ health”. A wise man once said that anyone who would give up liberty in exchange for temporary “ safety” deserves neither liberty nor safety. Sad mentality out there today. No, the system worked as it is intended. The rioters at the ready were shocked....their narrative didn’t hold up. They quickly regrouped, then decided the angle would be that this verdict means nothing and isn’t nearly enough! Radical change must occur! Now, I’d feel better about the verdict if the jury was sequestered and the venue was moved. I think the jurors had to be in fear for their very lives unless they returned a guilty on all counts verdict. Still, it’s the best system we have, so it must stand. For now.

That was my point that I used as an example in another post. The entire number of police shootings in a given year by ALL cops across the land isn’t far off from actual intentional murders in a single American City! Not worth worrying about. We have a violent crime problem in America, not a Cop problem. You’ve got a 1 in 4 million chance of being killed by a shark. How much time do you spend worrying about that? Perspective is a real thing.

Still have to research that number, as I seriously doubt half of all shot were unarmed. On to the other point. So the answer is we need to get that number of dead cops higher ? got it. Equity !

Of course it is! That girl was just expressing her individuality, her reality. Who cares if another girl was about to take a knife wound to a vital organ or have her throat cut! Now if he did nothing or took some action but the other girl was stabbed or even killed, it would clearly have been systemic racism and a Caucasian girl would have been saved. The officer probably does. Most Cops don’t want to use their service weapon. Sadly, teens with weapons or weapon charges against them are common these days. Putting more Cops in danger by lessening their advantage over criminals who will try to kill them in order to escape isn’t an answer here. Edit: I’m not sure of the validity of your over 500 unarmed number, and question the definition of “ unarmed” but no matter. I know the number of unarmed poc last year was less than 20. It just doesn’t happen that often to anyone ( I mean 500 in a nation of 300 plus million ? Not worth worrying about ) but it’s sensationalized by the media and Police hate groups.

Yes! The numbers clearly show that b on b crime is far outpacing any other. It has been “ normalized” and that’s scary. The biggest threat to a young man of color is not a cop, but other young men that look just like him. It’s a sad truth you point out , and it’s ignored or even celebrated by the left. Thousands upon thousands of murders per year, yet the lefts outrage and hatred of America and Caucasians in general is so great, they focus on a few hundred Police involved shootings per year across the entire nation!

Sure, take away their advantage over the criminals. A bunch more dead Cops per year can really help to ,you know balance things out. Couple that with Chris Cuomo’s idea and have them shoot a bunch of “ white kids” per year and we’ll be close to achieving equity! Policing reimagined! You see , they need to let kids be kids! They could have let an OJ style knife killing just play out as it should. We don’t need Cops saving anyone from a good old fashioned knife fight!

Brees didn’t protest, he just let his opinion about said protest be known via a tweet or something. It was a response, because the left calls you out if you don’t agree with their lie. The anthem itself is most certainly not entertainment. Remember , they say “please rise while we honor America...”. As I also pointed out, most non libs were fine with the idea of keeping the players inside during the anthem ( as was done for many decades) or to simply eliminate it from being played before games. That idea was also panned by the left. You seem to think that everyone must be subjected to the “ protest” and no one can have an opinion contrary to the protest. The issue is that this “ protest” along with BLM riots etc is pushing a lie, a gross exaggeration of facts, and advancing a radical agenda that is not supported by the data. It’s being endorsed by spineless corporations and cheered on by liberal owned leftist msm. I see LeBron is “ so tired “ of seeing black people killed by law enforcement. He should watch video of white people being shot and he’ll feel much better. Trouble is, the media doesn’t show these. Maybe he doesn’t know that hundreds more white folks are shot by Police every year. His tweets show an astounding level of ignorance. He should watch Fox News, because the showed the dash cam footage of a deputy who was gunned down by a driver that he pulled over during a traffic stop. That’s the danger faced by law enforcement every day.

The thinking is so insane , it’s amazing anyone is agreeing with these radicals. So that girl should have just had a knife plunged into her neck, and the cops watch then take statements while preserving the scene? How does that make sense? I can imagine the calls for firings and lawsuits because they were negligent in their duty.

I never said the NFL banned them from doing it. You did. My point wasthat they could have; that fact remains ... the right is not unfettered on company time. I made my point: you failed to understand it. The NFL is in the entertainment business, and their business model is built around fans watching; not alienating large swaths of them. When you are the customer of an entertainment product, you get to state your opinion about that product. Anti American protests are not entertaining to all their customers. That’s not telling someone how they can or cannot protest , just that it’s not an entertaining part of the product they’re trying to weave it into.

Check the numbers ; see how many folks are murdered per year in Chicago alone. Recently, a 4 year old was shot on her Grandmothers porch. Savage....are you angry yet? Ready to smash some windows and grab a flatscreen ? Hint: the number is not all that far off from the number of suspects shot by all Cops in America in a given year. See, perspective can overcome the hyperbole, if you’re willing to look at all the facts. Criminals are THE reason that Cops sometimes have to use deadly force. It’s Minnesota. What’s saddening to see is so many people in the streets of America that are this stupid. The vast majority are arrested in such a fashion. Are jails empty? Some try to take out a cop on their way down ,or they’d rather be killed than caught. God forbid obey a command given to them by a Cop in order to ensure a clean arrest. About a thousand per year on average. It’s not very many in a nation of hundreds of millions, and most are white. You’ll never hear their names on national msm news programs though, ( unless it was a “ mass “ shooting that can be used to tout gun control) because it would expose the lie about everything being racist. Sometimes a Cop needs to use deadly force. It’s usually justified, but lots of people today are just incredibly dumb and programmed to go along with lib narratives.

I loved Trump, but I could be okay with a moderate. The Dems could have nominated a moderate and chose not to. I’d likely still have voted for Trump but I’m sure some wouldn’t have. The Democrat party can’t be any further from moderate than they are today. I love Tucker’s show, but somehow I doubt if he’s a moderate. Maybe he was moderate back then, but came to his senses.

But entertainment shows ( such as football games) are supposed to be. I’ll agree they have a right to protest....on their own time. When they’re working, I.e. in uniform, in the workplace ( the stadium) and on TV they don’t have such an unfettered right. Neither do you nor I. Why would they kneel ? Your whole premise is silly, but yes I ( and many others) would have a problem with any player of any background kneeling during the anthem.

Police are indemnified in the use of (deadly) physical force because of the violent criminals they face every day, manny of which will try to kill Police officers. It’s not perfect, but nothing is 100%. Comparing looting and burning of cities and business in response to a crime by an individual is never acceptable. Comparing it to a protest due to unheard of , unscrupulous changes to election policy in order to facilitate cheating through unverifiable unrequested paper ballots :a crime against America and the integrity of our election system is patently absurd. If we don’t protest that, we are no better than despotic Communist outposts

We do like free speech for everyone but it doesn’t mean we cannot disagree with the opinion. We might not agree with LeBrons idiotic tweets, but we don’t think he should be banned from twitter. As consumers of an entertainment product, why should we watch a protest we disagree with mixed in with it ? Do it with your own time, not on company time. Most of us would be fine with just not playing the anthem, but that’s not what was done. It’s always dicey when you try to put politics into people’s entertainment. This wasn’t a free speech issue as much as a “ do you have free speech when on the job issue . When lies are perpetrated by the media such as the GA election bill, or when a Marxist organization uses a phony moniker ( they only matter some of the time) we call it out. Free speech is great, but it’s not free from reaction by others. Minorities have the same free speech rights as anyone else. Probably more than anyone else right now. You’re confusing freedom of speech with everyone else having to agree with your opinion.

Everyone does it for lots of things already. We know voter fraud occurred and does so often when all means of verification are stripped away and mass mailed unrequested ballots are stuffed into unwatched “ drop boxes”. It so easy to dismiss the possibility of large scale cheating as unproven while not allowing verification. It’s dumb to assume otherwise. Libs are so concerned about cheating in every other area , but can’t imagine a political party or voter would consider cheating. No way !
