Changes coming to Bills front office?

It seems the only continous thing here is Whaleys penchant or unquenchable thirst for power at the expense of the Ball club that employs him. -

Who in the league would care what a perennial loser, team who hasnt made the playoffs in a decade plus has on their board. Its like apple trying to steal compaq secrets lol. I am a diehard Bills fan for 30 years plus and I dont think any team in this league would attempt to steal info from our draft board. -

Whaleys gonna take the actual draft biard and the bills cant get it back? Yeah because Whaley is the only one in the organization with the knowledge of where each player would fall out on the Bills draft board. Yikes.. -

one can only hope our poor drafting GM who isnt honest with his players is replaced by a capable GM that is a man of integrity. -
Whaley has done one heck of a job, except QB
Bill_with_it replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So there are 6-7 other GMs that are as equally inept as Doug Whaley when it comes to drafting? -

If there isnt anything of merit or substance to the report couldnt Whaley place a lawsuit on him? Quite sure that blatantly lying in a teport is against the law. -

One can always hope that his role (which he cant even state is) is lessened! -
I certainly would rather read about cover 1's analysis rather than some verbal lashing which contributes literally nothing to the topic.

What, I thought Whaley is the best and there werent any disagreements/feuds with him and every single coaching staff that have coached with the Bills since Whaley taking over as GM??? -

The gm stated they drafted him as they envisioned him as a natural lt. Veldheers cap hit is 10 mil will be 30 this year and is in the last year of his contract. Ill finish with this, I will revisit this thread with a i told you so when Glenn is firmly entrenched as the starting lt for the buffalo bills come football season and Cyrus is either a rt or backup swing tackle not even cracking the starting lineup. At that point I hope it wont be so hard for you. -

They drafted a replacement for a player who will eat 10 mil of cap and will turn 30 this year in the final year of his contract. Isnt hard to understand the GMs statement.Read the entirety of the article. Do you want me to send their gm an email to confirm what he stated in the interview? Are you now saying that when the gm stated. When we drafted D.J., he was anatural left tackle coming on. Not only his body type, his movement skills, his natural bend and athleticism." As for why Humphries didnt start this past year from his own mouth: "This type of team, what they demand from a player, I wasnt ready to give that to the team last year, said Humphries, who added he grew numb to sitting each week. But mentally growing a year old, you learn to accept those roles and learn what people look from you. Unless of course you are going to say he didnt mean that. -

You would would have to ask their gm. He stated they drafted Humphries to play lt. Those were his words. You likely wont see Veldheers on the Cardinals after this year. The move to right tackle does, however, send signals regarding Veldheers future with the Cardinals. He is signed through the 2018 season, with cap hits in the neighborhood of $10 million per season. Its exaclty as their gm stated. They planned on drafting veldheers replacement and they did. -

That isnt my point. I never said Veldheer is their top tackle. Clearly the gm stated his intentions were to draft a player to replace Veldheer. Didnt you understand that when their GM said they envisioned him at left tackle. Its clear their intentions were to replace Veldheer. -

The Cardinals drafted Humphries with the intention of putting him at lt. http://raisingzona.com/2017/02/18/arizona-cardinals-d-j-humphries-likely-play-left-tackle-2017/ When we watched him coming out of Florida, we thought he was a natural left tackle. Hes got the feet, the length, the athleticism, the movement skills; all the necessary tools to be a very good left tackle in this league. They drafted a guy to replace Veldheer. Didnt you read it. There was no experimental conspiracy wird random shuffle thought that makes zero since as you are pontificating. How much you wanna bet that Cyrus never plays lt for the bills unless its due to injury? -

If you are familiar with the situation you would know that they drafted Humphries to play lt. Not right tackle. Doesnt make since to pay Veldheer top ten money and draft Humphries.During the offseason, it appears the Arizona Cardinals are ready to turn over the starting left tackle job to D.J. Humphries, who filled in very well late in the season when Jared Veldheer went on injured reserve. It is the position the Cardinals drafted him for and it looks like the switch will be made. Both general manager Steve Keim and offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin have suggested that is the way they plan to go. https://www.google.com/amp/cardswire.usatoday.com/2017/02/23/are-the-cardinals-sure-jare-veldheer-can-play-right-tackle/amp/ -

No he moved due to injury, and the injury situation only. Coach never woke up and said hey lets experiment. The whole apology thing was sarcastic, and I did it soley to illicit a response from those that were completely and are completely wrong on the subject. Noone wakes up and says hey lets put my best blindside protector at right tackle and my worst offensive linemen at lt. No one. All of you suggesting this will get clowned on by the coaching staff this year when you see that a. Glenn is playing lt, and b. Cyrus doesnt even crack the starting line up. Oh man you guys make me laugh... Read the article specifically where it states the only reason whitworh was moved was die to injury. For all but five of the 61 plays they ran against the Chargers in their Week 13 contest at Qualcomm Stadium, the Bengals were forced into the unenviable task of replacing their two starting offensive guards. Right guard Kevin Zeitler already was missing in action, declared inactive before the game due to a foot injury that has slowed him the last three weeks. He made the trip, but didn't participate. He ended up getting joined on the sidelines by left guard Clint Boling, a third-year lineman from Georgia who succumbed to a knee injury on the Bengals' second drive. Coach Marvin Lewis after the game called it "significant." During his news conference back in Cincinnati on Monday, he outlined just how bad it was. -

He was moved in week 13 because the entire pool of guards were injured. You are wrong its a tremendoisly dumb idea to move Glenn. Immediately after the injury situation rectified itself he was back playing lt and never looked back. The only reason Whitworth played guard was due to injuries. His GM nor coach said hey we pay Whitworth lt money yet we got a rt that cant play rt at all and may be able to half ass play lt lets swap the two. That never happens in the league. So stop with this crap. You were wrong. I want an apology. -

Did you even reqd the article youngster? It was week 13 for 61 snaps due to an injury. In no way shape or form would anyone ever do this in any normal situation. To even infer that it is remotely the same as taking an above average to excellent lt who is healthy and plcing that person at rt because you have bums for rts makes no sense at all. Still waiting on my apology. In case you werent aware in a normal non emergency: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WhitAn20.htm Didnt kill anything. The article that he didnt even reqd states they moved him to guard week 13 for an injury. Yikes. Got two very wrong people on here that think they know better than general managers triple yikes. -

Ill wait for an apology after you read this and realize how ridiculous your comment is and was:Whitworth was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round (55th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut on special teams September 10 at Kansas City. He started at left guard in his second game, September 17 against the Cleveland Browns, as part of a line shuffle that saw left guard Eric Steinbach replace injured Levi Jones at left tackle. Whitworth helped Bengals pile up 481 yards against Browns, including 145 rushing yards by Rudi Johnson. He was in the starting lineup for the remainder of the season, in part due to the number of injuries that depleted the Bengals' offensive line. On November 12 vs. the San Diego Chargers, he helped the offense produce a season-high 545 yards and career-high 440 yards passing from Carson Palmer. He also had a key block on Rudi Johnson's seven-yard touchdown run in first quarter. On July 25, 2008, Whitworth agreed in principle to a four-year extension worth a reported $30 million that would keep him in Cincinnati through 2013.[2] In 2009, head coach Marvin Lewis decided to move Whitworth from guard to left tackle and saw immediate impact. Whitworth is getting paid as a left tackle because thats what left tackles do. -

I did defend them.1. If cyrus is a good lt he would command a draft picks and a trade, hes on a cheap contract. Trade him for a player and pick or picks. 2. Hes not a good or even average lt. 3. You dont move your best offensive linemen to the right side and put perhaps your worst offensive linemen on the qbs blindside. 4. The offensive setup would have to be completely revamped to put the hb, and te almost exclusively on the left side to assist cyrus in picking up the defender making the offense easier to defend as almost every read and progression the quarterback would go through would start out almost exclusively on the left side. 5. You dont pay a lt more money than the highest paid rt to start him at rt and let a below average olinemen take his job because hea completely incapable of performing the job he was supposed to. 6. The idea is dumb and you dont know better than almost every gm in the league. -

you cant be serious. If it warranted the swap a the bills would have done it, b the bills would have trade the hypothetically good lt cyrus for an asset that is a true rt and picks because lts are more valuable. There is no way Glenn plays rt if healthy. You arent smarter than gb, dallas, and the like who pay lts more than rts and realize that it pays to have your best protector on your qbs blindside. Its total nonsense. -

We already have 50% of the players on the roster dedicated to rushing the football we dont need another one who will demand a large cap hit thats why..
