That pretty much is what he said, actually. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/sabres-avalanche-recap-highlights-sam-reinhart/c-314645400 Reinhart had some things to say too - I appreciate Reinhart saying it, but it just rings so hollow. We’ve heard it literally 100x before. Maybe not from Reinhart, but from plenty of Sabres players. I just don’t know how many of them have it in them to actually step up.

This team is so mentally fragile. They can’t overcome any in game adversity. We need a new mix of players, and more talent. No coach is going to do much better with this crap team. I don’t see how Botterill survives if the end of this season keeps trending the way it’s been since the all star break. They had this big home stand and so far they’re 1 for 4... Fans are going to completely revolt if they keep collapsing. It’s going to get ugly. I’d have to say that I’m on the “fire botterill” bandwagon. I was trying to be patient and find reasons to not lose all hope in botterill. He just hasn’t done nearly enough and I have no faith he can fix this mess. This is year 3 and I see no improvement from the team he took over. They may actually be worse, as far as the talent level. His only good moves seem to be Jokiharju (LOVE that trade) and Skinner (But Buffalo and Toronto were the only 2 teams on his no move list). But he also subtracted ROR and Kane. i think the Sabres need a veteran GM. Enough rookies. This job is too big for a rookie.

https://www.tsn.ca/trade-bait-winnipeg-jets-and-dustin-byfuglien-heading-toward-split-1.1437152 Winnipeg Jets and Dustin Byfuglien headed toward a contract termination. This has long been a team that I thought made a good trade partner for Buffalo. They desperately need defenseman (only 4 under contract beyond this season, and they’re already playing with a bare bones D corps), but they’ve been waiting for this Byfuglien situation to be resolved due to his $7+M cap hit. Ill be interested to see what happens once this is finalized.

Rush Limbaugh reveals diagnosis of advanced lung cancer
BillsFan4 replied to ALF's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Feel bad for him. I hope he’s able to beat it. -
It’s a rule in place between the NHL and CHL, basically to make sure that they have talent for their leagues. https://www.stanleycupofchowder.com/2012/8/1/3213217/bruins-nhl-chl-ahl-agreement-CBA-talks-2012 So Cozens would have to go back to juniors for 1 more season if he doesn’t make the Sabres next year. Then after that, if he didn’t make the Sabres they could send him to the AHL. With certain players (like Alex Nylander for ex) whose rights are held by European clubs, they can play in the AHL right away.

2019 Bills ranked 12th in Special Teams by Gosselin
BillsFan4 replied to Seoulofstone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just stumbled across these rankings today. I was surprised to see where buffalo placed in a # of them. -
Thats why I specifically said that I want them to learn how to win when games get tougher in the 2nd half of the year. They haven’t shown they can do that yet. I don't see where another epic collapse does any good. They’ve drafted top 8 for how many years straight now? Every year it’s “we need just one more high pick”. I’m done with that ****. I absolutely refuse to root for them to lose. I 100% agree that they need more talent though. But plenty of teams are able to add talent and get better without constantly tanking for top picks. If our GM needs a top 7 pick to add talent then we need a new GM.

F draft position. I know they’re not making the playoffs but I still want to see them finish out the season strong. Another collapse does no good, and things may get really ugly. I just feel like learning how to win down the stretch when games get tougher is a lot more beneficial to this team than another top 7 pick.

Yeah I’ll be shocked if they don’t trade Cam and go into full rebuild mode. It seems inevitable at this point. I was expecting it to happen even before Kuechly retired. I think that is probably Rhule’s best shot at success - build a fresh, young team from the ground up that will buy into his message.

I really thought I’d finally get to see them win tonight. I felt like they’d show some fire (and pride) after that Ottawa loss. But nope. They showed up for the 1st period, then Montreal came out with a strong push in the 2nd and Buffalo collapsed like the cheap tent they are. I probably shouldn’t post right now because I am extremely aggravated after watching that loss in person. I am just so fed up with this team when they play like they don’t give a ****. I feel like at this point i’m just waiting for the inevitable total collapse and bottom 7 finish, then more sweeping changes this summer. I don’t think Botterill survives if this team totally collapses again. He brought back the same failed team as last year (minus Pominville) with a few small tweaks, has done nothing all year to help the team and somehow expects there to be different results. Meanwhile another season slips away. Eichel looked visibly frustrated almost all night. His body language was not good. This is the first time I’m actually starting to worry that he will want out. Im legitimately worried that things are going to get really ugly if buffalo has another terrible finish to the season like last year. I honestly feel bad for Krueger. No coach is going to have success with this current team. He got a crap deal in Edmonton (fired for no good reason after a 48 game lockout season), and I have a feeling he’s going to get a crap deal here too (fired because a new GM wants his own coach or something like that). I think coaching is the least of their problems at this point. We can’t keep firing coaches every time this same group of players fails. It’s time for a new mix of players. But, as much as I want to see Krueger given a real chance, I’m not how you can bring Botterill back if they finish bottom 5-7 again. anyway... done venting. Sorry. I try my best to stay positive, but it’s tough. I was there. Don’t know the exact attendance numbers but It was about 2/3rds Montreal fans.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/toronto-maple-leafs-trade-deadline-approach-fortunes/ I read on Twitter that someone from the team disputed this or something like that, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s true. I think a lot will will depend on how they finish this season. If they completely collapse again, changes are probably pretty likely. Especially since the fan pressure will be very high (and the Pegulas have caved to fan pressure before). I just hope Krueger gets at least 1 more season, hopefully with a better roster, no matter what. I hope he isn’t shown the door along with Botterill (if Botts is fired). I don’t know if he’s the right guy or not but I want to see him get a fair chance, and I’m sick of constantly changing coaches and giving this failed roster a pass. No coach is going to have much success with this current roster.

Browns hire Kevin Stefanski as HC; Andrew Berry as GM
BillsFan4 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get why these moves were made, and we have to wait to see who is hired to replace them, but still... This would make me a bit nervous if I was a Browns fan. Berry was a big part of those terrible Sashi Brown drafts before Dorsey/Wolf/Highsmith got there. Now the scouting/personnel department is right back to where it was before Dorsey, except Berry is now in charge instead of Sashi Brown. IMO This whole process makes the Haslam’s look even worse. They look like they have no clue what they’re doing. Just making decisions on a whim. I mean, It’s almost like they’re admitting that firing Sashi Brown (after going 1-31) was a mistake or something. They’re basically going back to the Sashi Brown regime even though Dorsey’s time there was much more productive than Brown’s. But let’s see who Berry replaces them with. If he truly is considered a well respected up-and-comer in NFL circles, who knows, he could end up attracting some good execs to fill those roles. No matter who he hires, the Haslam’s are going to need to show some patience for once. This kid is only 32yrs old. He’s going to make some mistakes learning on the job. I hope they actually give Berry + Stefanski a legit chance.
