Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE
Figster replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
Logic has no place here Thanks for this post you Old Coot -
Big fan of Daboll as Bills OC. He did a great job with the development of Josh Allen. Hated losing him. Getting Kincaid in the 1st round is a good step in the right direction IMO. I also think we have just scratched the surface with James Cook.
-
Managing Allen doesn't mean you have to eliminate what makes him great. There's a time and place for everything. Throwing into double, even triple coverage is a mistake waiting to happen. Daboll ran Allen like a RB exploiting Allens skill set. Its not something that is going to give one of the best arms the NFL has ever seen, longevity. You get that right?
-
Fair enough, I suppose that may also be the case. Daboll and Allen worked very well together. I hate to wish bad things on HC Daboll, but I hope he gets fired and comes back to his boy Josh, lol

While I don't fault Ken Dorsey for Allens poor decisions on the football field. What you say is true because Dorsey doesn't have the balls to chew Allen out. Well put Zag20...

Stuck in the mud = Coaching & Lack of Talent
Figster replied to PepeSilvia's topic in The Stadium Wall
To me in this article it sounds like the Bills GM is very much involved IMO. https://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/36960/who-replaces-brian-daboll-will-be-vital-decision-in-sean-mcdermotts-bills-tenure If not, then perhaps he should be... -

The Bills have lost good coaching on both sides of the football in Daboll and Frazier and tried to fill the void with a QB coach and HC doing double duty. I blame the Beane head... -
Numerous plays show Cook open for dump offs with huge chunks of yardage in front of him. Allen needs to take what the oppositions D is giving him. Staring down his WR's, not going through his progressions, WTF...

Would McDermott Fire Dorsey If We Fail Thursday?
Figster replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
What is missing is the Josh Allen threat of running the football. Something that in all likelihood McBeane tried to remove from the Daboll playbook while Brian Daboll was still OC for the Buffalo Bills. Dabolls response was probably something like " you coach them then". Across the league we see teams with mobile signal callers running the football more from the QB position. Who is at fault here when other facets of the Offense have shown improvement? RB by committee has improved and the 1st round rookie TE Kincaid is coming on strong. The kind of improvements that can help carry the team when the weather turns ugly. -

Voted no on firing Dorsey because the Bills Offense is in transition. The Josh Allen run game removal is fueled by McBeane. -
I just want to thank T Mobile for his playcalling skills at the end of the 1st half. Once a Buffalo Bill, always a Buffalo Bill...

Numbers suggest your narratives are wrong on the offense.

This This and this... The McBeane regime can take part credit/blame for the removal of the Josh ground game/ Hell on wheels from the Daboll/Dorsey playbook IMO. -
Roger Goodell said today's game was an experiment??

Agree Brain fart to schedule games at 9 :30 AM ET IMO. Brain fart not to fly the Bills up earlier in the week. Josh Allen comment about the Bills O waking up towards the end of the game pretty much says it all. On a side note: (speaking of shady) Tottenham Stadium gave some Bills fans that made the trip an idea of what its like to play under a partial roof over hang. From a spectator watching on tv, it appeared going from shade to sun on the playing field might take getting used to IMO. ( players ) -
How about giving the Jets QB that beat Buffalo and almost beat the Chiefs a chance to develop...
-
Agree, Buffalo's coaching staff tops the list for me. Bills HC/DC McD and much maligned OC Ken Dorsey called the perfect game. Great write up. Thanks

The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged
Figster replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
The biggest obstacle on Offense is the growth /development of Bills OC Ken Dorsey IMO. While I still remain skeptical, Josh Allen has helped his young OC over the last two games by showing better game management skills IMO. Taking what the oppositions D gives you has resulted in longer sustained drives and has made an already hard O to defend against practically unstoppable IMO. Players on the Bills Oline including Spencer Brown all benefit from a well distributed ball control Offense IMO. Meanwhile the Bills D stays well rested. Opening up room for optimism... -

New year, same issues with play calling and use of personnel
Figster replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely, sometimes the oppositions D dictates what you as an O can execute, so you take what the oppositions D gives you. (Not just with one play) Ken Dorsey's ability to counter with the proper play calling is non existent IMO. If Allen refuses to follow script it just adds to Dorseys inability to coach the elite QB/Josh Allen. Trying to take Allen out of what feels normal for him adds to the confusion. Let Josh Allen be Josh Allen when it comes to running the football... -

Now Giants HC Brian Daboll's coaching success with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills Offense stems from ingenuity. Without the innovative mind of Daboll and the ability to evolve and adapt Josh Allen and the Bills Offense is a shell of its former self. I sound like a broken record here, Ryan Fitzpatrick can give Allen, Dorsey and the Bills O the added ingenuity and ability to adjust on the fly that is needed in my humble opinion. Ideally Buffalo would hire Chan Gailey, but that will never happen. Fitz is the next best thing in any capacity to assist Ken Dorsey IMO. The Bills are following in the footsteps of what transpired with a previous championship caliber team in the JK era when we lost our innovative OC to a HC hire. Bills are repeating same mistake in my humble opinion. And no, the no huddle will not fix Buffalo's lack of ingenuity at the OC position... -
Thanks fellas, much appreciated. Little late, Happy Birthday young lady. Hope you had a great day : )

Great post, although I believe where Buffalo is missing the necessary leadership goes a step higher. Allen looked lost vs Cinci IMO. Where was Ken Dorsey?

Josh Allen and starters will play against the Bears

The lack of actual game reps IMO. Rust Getting obliterated by the Jets is not the way to start the season... -

Its hard to score TD's and win football games playing as sloppy as Buffalo did vs the Steelers IMO. Desperation because you want your starters ready for the regular season? -

Tua Answers Media Question Too Honestly
Figster replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall
Very good question. One Tua needs to ask IMO. Kid was born to play football. As far as looks, I agree. Many ways to make them more attractive to the athletes wearing them IMO. What looks good to me as a viewer is seeing our star athletes healthy and on the playing field.
