They played in different eras so you really just can't compare stats... Flacco is mediocre for a super bowl winning quarterback.. squarely in the slightly above average as an NFL starter during his career ... He wasn't a bum... Super low echelon for super bowl winners But nobody would think he's a better quarterback than McNabb... Flacco isn't going to be on Hall of Fame ballots McNabb is on it McNabb led the league in yards per game twice ... Let the league in touchdowns per game.. lead the league in interception percentage and his top five for quarterback rush yards Joe flacco did not do stuff like that... He never made a pro bowl

Football's not black and white... There are a lot of moving pieces If the bills look disinterested and don't play good.. yeah I would get rid of McDermott If they win 13 games.. but then in the playoffs are missing nine starters.. I'm not going to hold that against him .. there's only so much you can overcome If we go into the playoffs healthy.. and we get schlaked... Yea I would get rid of him But football is one thing that you don't get emotional about... I certainly am a Buffalo Bills Homer.. but I do not parade every single move they make... And I certainly can be critical But on the same take.. then harbaugh should be getting flamed too... You could call his super bowl win a fluke run with a mediocre quarterback Now with two-time MVP he keeps falling short... So should they can harbaugh? Or does he get a pass... Because he has a roster that can win and he comes up short every year But he certainly is considered a top five coach by lots .. he is always praised
-
I've already said if the bills don't make the playoffs, or if they bow out in the wild card I would make a move But the funny thing is that people always think the sky is greener... We can certainly get a lot worse after McDermott... Who has built a culture in Buffalo that was not here for a long time And it's not a guarantee that culture stays when he leaves Harbaugh won with a solidly average quarterback in flacco... Can't even get there with two-time MVP lamar... Should they get rid of harbaugh? Does that mean he's regressed? Or it's situations

If you don't think McDermott is good enough to win a super bowl just say it.. I'm on record saying the team has been growing with Josh Allen... It just hasn't gone our way 31 NFL teams every year don't win The bills are as close as any team in the NFL... Football is a game of inches It always comes down to a couple breaks... They haven't gone the bills way Next year they might What happens if we destroy it all year and win the super bowl? Do all of you guys come here and say you're sorry that you were wrong about McDermott? Did McDermott magically get better? Or maybe the chips fall better next year We literally are as close as you can be without getting there... Where a couple plays away And yes I think he can get over that hump... Now do I give him 10 years, no McDermott certainly can win a super bowl... And the bills can certainly beat the Chiefs Again people here thought 13 seconds was our year to win the super bowl... When we scored So if we didn't crap the bed there... Everybody had Faith McDermott was going to get it done... This place was certain we were going to win the AFC championship game and win the super bowl ... People still talk about it today like that was our year And the players crapped the bed as much... And forgot how to tackle.... The players collapsed as much as any of the coaches in 13 seconds But yes in a league where the talent is razor thin at the top... And realistically the Chiefs will not go to the super bowl every year Yes, I think McDermott still has a chance to win with Josh
-
Patrick mahomes also has his worst record of any opponent against the bills Josh Allen is going to get his revenge... He's not going to be The whipping boy to the Chiefs his entire career , I certainly believe he will hoist the Lombardi You act like we've never had breaks go against us lol We literally at points last year we're missing multiple guys who have been all pros ... And really good starters Not good football players.. all pros... And a stud young linebacker in Bernard We had AJ Klein covering Kelce because of injuries... That's as bad as it gets in the modern NFL ... We called up a 33-year-old washed up practice squad guy to start Josh Allen could mask injuries on the line... Because he could run... You can't mask half of your defense being really banged up

Peyton Manning won one super bowl with a Hall of Fame coach... Again it takes as much luck as skill to win a super bowl... Reid lost three times in the wild card with Smith... Two more in the divisional... Josh hasn't lost in the wild card since his first postseason birth And already went to a AFC championship game which Smith never did... It just hasn't came together fully Again mahomes took over a consistent playoff team.. ready to win. Josh Allen did not have that same opportunity... The team grew with Josh Allen to the point where it's been banging at the door stop and ready to win .. and I certainly think they can But him and mahomes did not come into the same situation at all... Pat sat behind an established quarterback which is never a bad thing... Got to work out kinks... And had a solid line Josh was thrown to the fire , with no wide receivers or line his rookie year... And the bills grew with him The Chiefs were ready when mahomes stepped in... The bills weren't ready when Josh stepped in... That's the difference In 2016-17-18 the Chiefs roster was vastly superior to the bills... And we have been closing the distance since.. To where I think we are completely equal now and can beat them any Sunday
-
2 years before reid got there they were in the playoffs... Unless you have a top quarterback no team consistently makes the playoffs every year The bills were 17 years without it.. The Chiefs crapped out at 2-14 the year before reid got there... But won seven games the year prior.. and went to the playoffs the year prior to that The bills couldn't say that for 17 years.. then McDermott took us.. and we gutted the team even more... And gave rookie Josh Allen a depleted team Josh Allen got a depleted team.. by the time the Chiefs drafted mahomes... He got a loaded roster That's the difference ... Mahomes got to sit behind a proven quarterback and a good roster Josh Allen was thrown to the fire with a crappy roster and played through it Today I don't think the Chiefs are any better than the bills.. and I certainly think we can beat them I don't think the Chiefs are on a different level... I certainly think the Buffalo Bills can beat them
-
The Bills team wasn't ready to win for McDermott's first 3 years here... But the bills have been on a tear besides winning the big one since McDermott's fourth year... Even Reid bowed out in the wild card or divisional for years before getting to the AFC championship game with the Chiefs In fact McDermott got there quicker
-
The author clearly doesn't follow the bills if he has will clapp as the bill center to start

No my opinion is that the bills are not far off from winning a super bowl This team with Josh Allen can certainly win a super bowl and they can beat the Chiefs The Chiefs built a great team while they already had Alex Smith... Patrick mahomes inherited a pro bowl roster The bills lucked into the playoffs the first year of McDermott... With great coaching also... Then gutted the roster in Allen's rookie year... Allen's roster wasn't capable of winning in big games till year 3... Mahomes went to a roster capable of winning big games So mahomes went to a roster capable of winning... Allen got a gutted roster where people here said worst wide receiver core in bills history with no line ... Then said play ball And we certainly are capable of beating the Chiefs now

Go back and reread what I just reposted... I edited it with a clearer post Kansas City was obviously bad when they hired Reid... They were not 17 years no playoffs of futility ... The bills were considered the joke of the NFL before McDermott He also lost in the wild card or divisional for years with the Chiefs... He did not instantly turn them around to super bowl... By the time he got mahomes they were stacked with two Hall of famers on offense
-
The point is Sean McDermott went to a team that didn't go to the playoffs for 17 straight years It takes time to build a contender... You don't go from no playoffs in 17 years to the super bowl overnight... The team realistically wasn't ready to contend in the playoffs until Josh Allen's third year... Sean McDermott was overachieving before then and already reached the playoffs twice We're just starting to get Sean McDermott's full vision.. you can't create a full NFL vision in 3 years... Andy Reid had a head start on a franchise that was not as big as a perennial loser... And then even bowed out 4 straight times in the wild card or divisional round with the Chiefs It took him time to get past the divisional with Kansas City... By the time he had mahomes he had a stacked roster with two Hall of famers on offense...

Well I quoted you and it only said Chase's deal.. to which I thought it was Chase claypool ... I'm just skimming the last page And then you were comparing Chase.. to Coleman and Samuel and shakir Other bills players so rightfully I thought you were comparing our new Chase to our other players... I'm not reading replies of replies and as I said I did not even go back three pages I was just reading the last page and some replies and yours caught my attention... Saying J'marr would have instantly clear it up and I would have known what you were talking about I certainly agree Jmarr Chase is better than anybody we have
-
Yeah but it's circumstances... Andy Reid could have won a super bowl in Philadelphia... They fired him and won with a lesser head coach and a worse quarterback than what he had in Philadelphia I certainly thought Andy Reid was elite before Kansas City Winning a super bowl takes as much luck as it does a talented team It's not x + y = super bowl Half of this board thinks we were destined to win the super bowl if 13 seconds didn't happen lol so if everybody thought we were destined to win.... Why not keep the coach with one of the best winning percentages in the NFL... If we lose in the wild card sure get rid of him Well I speak on my phone so any grammar errors are my phone not picking up me speaking I know how to spell bengals.. which I just had to type out
-
People here are acting like where the University at Buffalo trying to beat Alabama crimson Tide lol Yeah that's never going to happen.... Any professional football team could win any Sunday... They are all filled with the best The margin of talent in the NFL is very slim... And we're at the top of the NFL consistency for the last four or five years... You're absolutely right it's very narrow and the people who are disagreeing with that are just not willing to see
-
Well we know he didn't win one in Philly.. but he certainly had the coaching chops to do it And there have been plenty of worst quarterbacks then McNabb to win a super bowl... It just shows the Stars didn't align in Philly which is my point... Why didn't Dan Marino win a super bowl and he's the greatest passer ever? It takes a lot more than just a quarterback and a coach It takes an entire roster 1 through 52... Andy Reid was good enough to win a super bowl in Philadelphia the Stars just didn't align... If McDermott gets fired and he wins a super bowl before the bills ... Is he unfireable? No ... I would get rid of him if we didn't make the playoffs
-
I understand he didn't win in Philly... But nothing about his coaching changed when he went to Kansas City It takes a mixture of skill preparation and luck to win a super bowl He was good enough to do it in Philly... Stars didn't align... They fired him for a worse coach... Who won a super bowl Then reid goes off and wins three... Now does he win three if he stays in Philly? No it doesn't work like that But he always had it... He didn't magically get better in Kansas City The Stars just aligned... He did not become a savant magically when he left
-
With Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce... Two Hall of famers .. and Smith was playing at his peak Two Hall of famers... And Alex Smith was good... He just wasn't a superstar in San Francisco He was solidly a game manager though... And athletic... He's way better than Brock purdy who is on a stacked roster Andy Reid has had Alex Smith Donovan McNabb and Patrick mahomes... All of those guys are better than the NFC super bowl quarterback in Brock purdy lol There's almost 20 pro bowls combined between those guys And it always takes two to tango... Reid wasn't going to make Nathan Peterman look good Alex Smith isn't getting on Hall of Fame ballots in 4 years.. Donovan McNabb does
-
Alex Smith was a top pick lol NFL scouts thought he was better than Aaron Rodgers coming out ... And he never led the league in touchdown per game.. like Donovan McNabb did twice... The bills also would have killed for a quarterback like Alex Smith before Josh Allen lol there's a reason why Andy Reid wanted him he's a really good game manager
-
That's besides the point You don't need Allen or mahomes to win a super bowl... It takes 1 through 52 a true team Nick foles won and is a backup... Donovan McNabb is much better... The Bills lost to a backup in the super bowl... The 49ers just went to a super bowl with a quarterback who is not even pro bowl level On the flip.. Dan Marino .. who throws the best football of any quarterback I've ever seen never won a super bowl Mahomes went to a team that was already built... Josh went to a team that was building That's the difference in their first 4-5 years.. mahomes went to a really good team Josh went to a team of castoffs... McDermott has done nothing but good things with the bills
-
Andy Reid was considered at the same level of Donovan McNabb when he was fired He was considered really good but not good enough to get over the edge ... he was not considered top 3 That was what people thought of Andy Reid That is 100% what the league thought of Andy Reid when he was fired... Really good.. couldn't get over the hump... Secondly, Nick foles won a super bowl... The Bills lost to a backup in the '90s in the super bowl Donovan McNabb is 100% good enough to win a super bowl and better than some super bowl winners The Bangles certainly pushed us around more in the playoffs then the Chiefs ever did Besides the AFC championship game.. where the bills were manhandled... It was also the first real playoff run for the bills Andy Reid couldn't win for 12 years with Philadelphia in the big one
-
The eagles before drafting Donovan McNabb only made it past the divisional war round once in their entire history McNabb helped lead them to a super bowl and four straight NFC championship games... Led the NFL in total offense per game twice Led the NFL in total touchdowns per game once Had the best interception percentage in a season in NFL history before it was broken in the modern era... Has 37,000 yards and 240 touchdowns... Fifth most rushing yards all time by quarterback Anybody who is trashing those numbers probably think a football is stuffed with feathers It always takes two to tango so I don't want to hear about Andy Reid... Donovan McNabb was really good He might not be the best... He certainly was towards the top when he was healthy
-
He also got Allen on a team went to the playoffs once in 17 years prior... The organization was a mess from top down The Chiefs organization has always been considered very well run... They were going to the playoffs before us because they had a roster built for it Sean McDermott gutted our roster the first year and rebuilt it from the bottom up and has turned us into an NFL contender year in and year out Point stands Donovan McNabb has always been really good... Again does this board only think you're good if you're a Hall of famer? He certainly is one of the best quarterbacks ever not in the Hall of Fame and I would take him over Eli Manning who somebody else's arguing for lol Nobody would say he is Point stands... He's a good enough quarterback to win a super bowl... And Andy Reid couldn't with him He needed somebody that they call baby goat .. an anointed football player He couldn't win with really good We we're winning at halftime LOL You can count on one hand the amount of times Josh's lost by double digits in the last 3 years on one hand hahahaha And the point of the matter is we didn't lose by double digits we lost by three
