  1. @PromoTheRobot Don't be surprised to see Shaun dolac get an invite next year too Or straight up signed after the draft Does he have a chance of slipping in the later rounds? Sure But I envision him coming home to Buffalo to next year
  2. Since I know you watch the league... Have any quarterbacks impressed you... Guys who did not have any starts in the NFL
  3. I just feel like he's saying he's got five kids that he's going to relax with when time is done
  4. Certainly can win a practice squad spot He's built like a modern linebacker
  5. Did you see Dylan McDuffie ended up at Kansas last year? Shame I don't think he got picked up UDFA even tho he was one of the nicer backs after the draft Can't believe he didn't even get a training camp offer
  6. He's always been a pretty good punter Problem is once you get too good you want more money... And teams only pay so much to punters So younger options were more appealing than giving him a lot of money I haven't watched the UFL... But he probably does have a stronger leg then haack
  7. At this point if we don't go bowling it's a disappointment... I'm not asking for 9 and 3... But we can get six wins
  8. I agree I wouldn't be trading him for a late round pick when three is better than one... I do have faith that McGovern will be a good center for the bills... As I've said it's physically easier to play center in the modern NFL You have to be smart and quick... But you're mainly combination blocking... Helping out guards... And moving to the second level... Pass protection is the easiest out of the line positions Guards take on elite 3tech athletes one on one... Centers don't I like McGovern going to center as a big strong Athlete... Even if he doesn't have a lot of experience Him, clapp and vpg is a solid room.. where I can see vpg being our starting center after a year or two of grooming... Which will never hurt He can workout his technique flaws like overreaching... And improve his core strength But he has a habit of overreaching because of his lack of length... And he's only going to go up against bigger longer athletes in the NFL... And they will abuse that flaw
  9. Most of the big physical quarterbacks from the '90s era did not have a long career Dante culpepper Steve McNair and Donovan McNabb were all solid .. McNabb and McNair were really really good... McNair won an MVP None played well past 33 or 34 Because they were beat up Thank you McNabb was really good
  10. I think we're in a tough spot.. and pressure will either break you or make you ... It's time to make diamonds I don't think he's a top three coach... But with his leadership I think he's squarely in the top 10... He also is a world-class developer of defensive players who buy in to his scheme... He's taken other teams cast offs (poyer) turn them into all pros... Taken a good role player in Hyde.. position switch.. all pro.... Developed sixth round pick Matt Milano , all pro... Dolphins cut Jordan Phillips... He micromanaged him.. and put him into his scheme to get 10 sacks and a big contract... First pick of his era... Tre white... Developed into all pro I can roll off a lot of other guys.. he is a great developer within his system Now he obviously has weaknesses... And does some really stupid stuff like calling a fake punt with Hamlin... There's no way that doesn't come through the top So he certainly has game day issues that leave me concerned at points... But coaches get better on game day with more experience Whether you are 5 years in or 10 years in And he's a smart guy and a good coach so that leaves me with hope that he can tighten up... Yeah I'm basically afraid of getting rid of the guy who changed the culture and help make the bills relevant again Because there's no guarantee the next guy is the top 10 coach
  11. Of course he is I'm not debating that.. he is a quarterback guru and offensive genius
  12. @warrior9 and fyi I've also been defending Andy Reid in this thread When he was fired from Philadelphia he was thought of as the coach that can't win the big game.. can't get you over the hump But I always thought he was a world class top NFL coach... The eagles fired him and won a super bowl with a lesser coach and quarterback than what he had in McNabb I feel like he could have won that's super bowl in Philadelphia also Now sometimes a change of scenery is good... And your message gets stale And Kansas City obviously worked out But he also unfairly got the can't win the big game label
  13. I believe the bills are good enough to beat the Chiefs That's the point It took years to get to that point because the team was growing into a contender... Now I feel like we could have won the super bowl the last few years and we didn't But only one team does.. I absolutely Believe Josh Allen can win a super bowl with McDermott We couldn't beat the Chiefs year two with Josh.. we haven't yet in the playoffs yet either.. but I think the team has been capable of doing that the last few years they just haven't put it together That doesn't mean they can't Yes mahomes did inherit a better team than Josh Allen inherited And that doesn't have anything to do with the last 4 years... But I'm saying I feel like we can win If you don't think we can beat them that's fine... I think we can I believe the bills can win we just haven't beat them yet
  14. I don't coach the bills... People are arguing stupid stuff here and my points are valid Just because I'm not on the we need to fire McDermott train asap doesn't mean I don't think he has to improve.. he does It doesn't mean I think he's better than Andy Reid. I don't think he is But I think the bills with the culture he has established can beat any single team and win a super bowl The bills are closer now than they were Josh Allen's first two years in the league You're completely misreading what I'm saying bro... Because even fire chan understands what I'm getting at Yes the bills need to win soon or McDermott won't be here that long.. that doesn't mean he didn't gut the entire roster.. which he did ... And the team had to grow with Josh Allen And he rebuilt it into a contending team... We are contending every year and we absolutely can win a super bowl Only one team does every year The Chiefs have won back-to-back super bowls and we haven't... But I think we are good enough to beat them
  15. And I've said plenty of times I don't think the Chiefs are that far ahead of the bills.. what? I think the Buffalo Bills can beat the Chiefs But Patrick mahomes inherited a super bowl contender... Josh Allen didn't That is the difference in the first couple years of their career People are arguing stupid stuff in this thread... I never said McDermott is better than reid... But I did say the bills can win... I also said Andy Reid didn't win the big game in Philadelphia with great teams And all I said is I'm willing to give McDermott this year to see what happen
  16. When you're arguing with 20 people at one time get scatterbrained... My only point was that Andy Reid took over Kansas City and built them into a contender with Alex Smith... When he got mahomes the team was already ready to contend When the bills got Josh Allen the team was not built to contend.. it was not ready to contend till year three Patrick mahomes got a team ready to win.. the Bills team grew with Josh Allen
  17. You're completely distorting my point.. My point has always been Patrick mahomes took over a contending team... Ready to win big games ... Andy Reid built the roster into a contender while he had Alex Smith.. transitioned to mahomes with a team ready to win Josh Allen did not take over a team ready to win big games and the team had to grow with him That is a point that is 100% true... The bills Josh Allen's rookie year were not ready to win They weren't really ready to win big games his second year either.. Patrick mahomes got a team ready to win Year One.. Josh Allen's team wasn't ready to win till year 3 You can't dispute that and that has been my point... The Bills team grew with Josh Allen into a contender Patrick mahomes got a contender
  18. O *****! Red is on 🔥 🔥 🔥
  19. Well I certainly don't think we need to out defense the Chiefs.. though I don't think you're referring to me I certainly think we need to outscore them.. 27-24... 31-28... Something like that
  20. Correlation doesn't equal causation It's not apples to oranges... Just because of statistics... That have a thousand variables in game The bills , And McDermott have left wide receivers one-on-one with our linebackers... Tremaine and Milano have covered good NFL wide receivers from the slot one on one when they disguise coverages.. Tremaine has ran with Tyreek Hill 1 on 1 over the middle lol That's how much they trust the linebackers... Milano runs one-on-one with Kelce on a wheel route... We didn't ask Klein to do that Klein dropped in hook curl zones majority... Milano play sideline to sideline... And man's up 35-40 percent... They used combination coverages to hide Klein's weaknesses
  21. I appreciate your level-headedness and I agree Thank you for your take
  22. As I said I don't think McDermott is super safe... I definitely think the seat is warm I give him 2 years to get to the super bowl... Unless the team is super flat next year They don't make the playoffs.. or bow out in the wildcard... I would make the switch But point differential speaks for itself... The team and coaches outplay and out coach other teams consistently... Yes the playoff losses are super tough But by all accounts Sean McDermott is a good leader of men... He clearly has a good scheme on defense... Even if Andy Reid has gotten the better of it in the playoffs And Josh is going through three offensive coordinators in 7 years... That's not a lot of consistency... Including like three quarterbacks coaches He doesn't even have time to fully integrate himself into an offense.. the best was year 3 of daboll... Any1 needs multiple years with a coordinator to master their offense... Master the protections and check Downs... The progressions And he still is other worldly with fired coordinators like Ken Dorsey... Josh with two or three years of Joe Brady probably will even turn it up another level... I said on this board years ago... Josh Allen is going to break every record around 30 years old when the game has fully slowed down and he still has athletic talents... I totally can see Josh Allen being the first quarterback to throw for 60 touchdowns and I I don't think he has reached his prime yet It hasn't even all came together for the kid.. despite all of his success already.. I do see another gear
  23. Right.. belichick has defensive guru+ top quarterback equals six super bowls Sean McDermott is considered a defensive guru and has a top quarterback Pretty sure that's the blueprint they're going after... But Sean McDermott is absolutely a world-class defensive coach... Even if he has been out coach before So has Bill belichick McDermott has taken other teams castaways like poyer... Made him all pro... Taken solid starter from Green Bay in Hyde... Gave him a position switch... All pro Drafted Tre white with his first ever pick.. All pro... Developed Matt Milano a six-round pick... All pro... We took cut Jordan Phillips from Miami... Cut from the NFL... Came here 10 sacks.. got a huge contract Took Christian Bedford in the sixth round... Immediately plays at a starter level Bernard... People thought he was going to be a bust... Gets a little bit of repetition.. stud Sean McDermott gets and develops defensive players at one of the best rates in the NFL... He develops draftees and NFL signees... Has a system that he has built... And he knows what players to plug in and get immediate results... That's a defensive guru Even if he has been beat... Pretty sure the bills went 7 for 7 with 7 touchdowns against the greatest defensive coordinator ever in Bill belichick in the playoffs... That doesn't make Bill a bum
  24. McDermott also learned under Jim Johnson... Learned under Andy Reid He changed the culture of Buffalo... You remember how much of a joke we were? And my point is Philly should not have gotten rid of Andy Reid.. they won a super bowl with a lesser coach... Andy Reid could have won it there Sure sometimes changes in scenery is good... But Andy Reid could have won a super bowl in Philadelphia But he was always thought of as the guy who can't... The same label McDermott has now... The guy who can't win big games
  25. It depends what you consider getting schlaked... The Bills lost by 14 to the Chiefs in 2020 They did get whooped.. but it was their first year as a Big Time competing team... You're not firing your coach after that... The next bad playoff loss was 2022... Where they did get whooped versus The Bengals.. lost by 17 if I'm correct They also won 13 games that year... Had the best point differential in the NFL... And had a player die on the field a few weeks prior... Sure they were very flat that game... I don't think you're getting rid of your coach after a 13 win season .. no NFL team is Those were the two times we got thoroughly our asses kicked... And I don't think either time any NFL team is firing the coach There's nobody mediocre on the Hall of Fame ballot He's the best eagles quarterback ever Ryan Fitzpatrick was a good quarterback and people call him a bum... He has more yards than Tony Romo He was not a bum People think if you're not a five-time All-Pro you must suck.. but Donovan McNabb was better than Joe flacco Besides the super bowl the accolades show it... And super bowl is a team stat not quarterback
