We can't make excuses for him either. That's the kind of stupid play that results in -7 point momentum-changer.
"Nothing to lose" isn't accurate. The Bills were still in the game.
Dude it's preseason. I don't even think of it as a game, it's a series of practice scrimmages. In a real game we wouldn't have even gone for it there. It was just an opportunity to practice a play, but the play got blown up and Allen tried to make something happen on his own. Who really cares?

Lee bailed him out on a pass that should not have been thrown.
I don't know if that ball should have been thrown but Lee didn't bail him out. It was a perfect pass put where only his TE could get it. It couldn't have been thrown better. Now everything he did on that pass is the opposite of what they teach you but his arm is so strong he can get away with it.

He threw the pigskin over the mountains, but his spotty accuracy and suspect decision making forced him to come up short.
I am pretty sure I know the two "inaccurate" passes you're talking about and they weren't inaccurate. The receivers ran a different route than Allen expected. The first one he immediately tapped himself to say "my bad." The second one I'm not sure who's to blame. But those are the mistakes I expect to see in preseason game 1 in a complicated offense. The things he did well were a lot more impressive. I thought his biggest mistakes were trying to hit receivers that were completely blanketed, but in his defense his receivers were blanketed most of the night and his two best plays came on throws to blanketed receivers. I need to see him with the 1s to have a better opinion but it was a very promising start.
And Peterman's poor velocity was still there last night. I say that as someone that has defended him. He isn't going to be able to challenge defenses, although personally I didn't see McCarron's performance as that much better.

I agree. But I am a little worried Peterman is fools.gold in the preseason. He looks great because he makes quick throws. Against vanilla defenses with wider windows that works well for him. My worry is when defenses tighten up his arm strength issue will show itself again.
I rewatched that TD drive and I agree with this. It wasn't as impressive the 2nd time around. I've defended Peterman as much as anyone on this board but the velocity just wasn't there by my eyes. There's a litte more separation in preseason so he can get away with it.

He missed a lot of throws to be truthful.
Not really. A couple miscommunications where he thought the receiver was running a different route. A couple bad decisions. A lot of plays where the receivers and line did nothing to help him. I'm happy with his performance overall all things considered.

The throw to Lee was actually crazy good as well. It wasn't like most of those type of throws where the QB is scrambling and throws it up off their back foot and it gets completed because it is underthrown and the receiver makes an adjustment and comes back for it - it was still put right on the money over the defender
I don't know how to feel about plays like that. It's usually not a smart decision... but despite how awful the mechanics looked the throw was right on the money where only Lee could get it.

That was a pretty insane throw. You can't even see the ball on camera.

What the hell Foster?? He just stopped running. This is the worst performance I've seen from a Bill's receiver in a while.
-
I feel bad for Josh Allen. I guess this is how he felt at Wyoming, he has to make everything happen on his own.
-
Foster might not even be practice squad worthy

Wow. I just want to see Josh Allen play and the refs screw it up.

Oh come on. Just score a TD already.

The Bills FO made the choice to draft the kid, they will deserve all the crap they get if he proves to be a bust, especially if Rosen turns out to be good. Fans should not have to simply fall in line if they disagreed with the pick.

Ugh I just want to see Allen again, the so 3rd down conversions are killing me

Allen couldn't throw it away there. It was 4th down. Not sure there was anything else he could have done, play was dead right away.

The ball gets there so freaking fast

That was actually a really solid 3rd down throw. Proehl isn't making the team.

That's the most exciting preseason incompletion I've ever seen

just a little early yet......
It is never too early to declare a top 5 RB pick as a waste. Has nothing to do with him being a better RB than Murphy.

Marcus Murphy was drafted in the 7th round. The Giants drafted a RB #2 overall. I will never ever think that drafting a RB in the 1st round is a wise decision.
I know it's just preseason. But does anyone here think if the Giants traded Barkley for Murphy their record would be any different? I still can't believe how stupid that pick was.
