What should the Bills plan be from here on?
MPT replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ignoring the asinine nature of these statements, they still have no merit with respect to this debate. The Saints, with their HOF quarterback, scored more points than 30 other teams. They still did not make the playoffs. Therefore, quarterback is not the only important aspect of the game. The Bills scored more points than SIX teams that made the playoffs this year, and they tied with one team that made the playoffs and also boasts arguably the best WR and RB in the league as well as a HOF quarterback. So, if you were going to choose one side of the Bills' game that DOESN'T need to change, it would be the offense. If you paired our current offense with the defense that Rex inherited before he mucked it all up, we would easily make the playoffs and probably win at least one playoff game. I am not part of the COT, but I acknowledge that we could do much worse and I realize that he is not the reason why we're now at Year 17. And yes, Alpha already whooped you up and down your own thread. I just couldn't resist piling on. -
Bills Hire Sean McDermott as New Head Coach
MPT replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McDermott seems to have a pretty solid reputation. However, is everyone overlooking the fact that his defense went down the drain when Norman left? I need someone to explain why this isn't a red flag. -
The Bills have lost their identity
MPT replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are a few things wrong with this argument. First and foremost, the Bills needed a win (not a loss or tie) to keep their playoff hopes alive. You don't give the ball to the opposing team with four minutes left in a sudden death game when winning is your only option. Second, the latter paragraph assumes a lot of best-case-scenarios. Getting the ball back at the 40 with two minutes left would only happen if the Dolphins went three and out AND we got a sack. And that all hinges on the Bills having a "decent defense," which is laughable. So no, that was absolutely not the right play. -
The Raiders game is still too fresh. Please refrain from making jokes like that.

Guess we should stop trying to find a good coach. Why try something new when you know what you have isn't working? Unnecessary to rock the boat just to try and get better. -

How is it possible that professional kickers EVER !@#$ up an onside kick? Any random child could walk up to a football and kick it ten yards, yet these grown men struggle to even kick a ball that can be fielded legally. -

Oh I thought that was just a practice drill that was never supposed to be used in a real game. -

So Taylor is now so afraid to throw the ball he can't even toss it out of bounds when he's given all day? As I'm writing this, he throws a pick six. Maybe just take a knee, Tyrod. -
It is pretty astonishing that Bills fans can confidently predict an otherwise unlikely comeback, including a two point conversion, simply because it's the Bills.

What the Raider Game should have shown everyone
MPT replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You sure about that? I saw the Bills rush three guys on the Raiders' first touchdown, and then run the same exact play on third and long in the red zone. Surprise, they converted again and got the touchdown right after that. Derek Carr is probably thanking our coaches for being completely incapable of making adjustments. -
I have learned to avoid soul-crushing disappointment like that by simply resigning myself to the fact the the Bills can and probably will lose no matter what the score is at any point in the game. Still live and breathe Bills football, but there's no way in hell I'll ever "Billieve" in anything other than their almost unparalleled ability to lose games in any way possible.

How much did you guys think we were going to lose by? We knew it was going to happen, but did we expect 4 unanswered touchdowns? We could have literally sent no one onto the field during that time and given up fewer points. Rex Ryan's team, for a significant part of the second half, was worse than not even playing.

Well the difference is that we actually... somehow... played a really good game against Seattle. The Bengals played one of the worst games all year, but we were content to match their ineptitude step for step.
-
Not to mention the easiest 3 yard toss to close out the game that he missed by 10 feet.
-
He was thinking he had a free opportunity to gain some yards. It's a smart play.
-
Again you have no argument. Defender shoved the receiver away from the play. That is interference. Sorry.
-
He has a right to the ball, but he can't shove the receiver with both hands before making a play on the ball.
-
Goodwin should have fought for that ball on the pick, but the ref standing right there should have thrown a flag for blatant interference. Just shoved Goodwin out of the way and then had an easy catch.

Can we have Kyle Williams smack Gilmore upside the head the next time he looks around at his team after blowing a coverage?

Bills @ Seattle: second half or go to bed?

When they take a look at this and confirm it's a catch, will they also fix their !@#$ing awful spot? Jesus these guys are bad. -

There has never been a more clear cut "rougher the kicker" penalty. Ever. -

Darby gets pulled and the Seahawks don't even bother to go after the rookie taking his place. They just burn Gilmore twice in a row. No respect. -

Ha just in time for Gilmore to get hurdled like a punk. -

Darby was out of position on that play, but that's a horrible PI call. Getting your feet tangled up is a non-call every time.
