NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread
MPT replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
1-1 in close games this year -
Sarcasm? Because there's no way that's happening. Nor should it. The Dolphins won because of defense and luck, not anything Tua did. Can't punish the other Dolphins players for that.
-
Two reasons. One: hockey hits to the head are generally much more violent. Two: the NFL cares more about ratings than players.
-
Because he clearly had enough cognitive function to finish a football game and he kept up the lie all week. Anyway, much more responsibility lies with the organization and "independent" consult.
-
The latter. I was looking forward to stomping him and Miami in Buffalo later this season but who knows if he'll even play again this year.
-
That's what happens when you disregard player safety.

Bills strength of schedule correlation random power ranking-wow!

Philly has one of the easiest schedules of any team this year. And the Packers have also had an easy schedule so far. This list is very suspect. -
The ball is coming out as soon as his second foot comes down.
-
It was chippy because Christian Wilkins was out there grabbing people's junk. Trashy behavior doesn't make them any less overrated.
-
Bills vs Fins is about as back as 2000s Pats vs Bills. They just peaked playing against a team that was half injured and still got outplayed all day.
-
You are mistaken on both accounts. There is an amount of time you have to control the ball and there is a football move requirement. "To gain possession of a loose ball that has been caught, intercepted, or recovered, a player (a) must have complete control of the ball with his hands or arms and (b) have both feet or any other part of his body, other than his hands, completely on the ground inbounds, and, after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, perform any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent). It is not necessary that he commit such an act, provided that he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so. This rule applies in the field of play, at the sideline, and in the end zone." Gabe was in the process of making a "football move" when the ball was knocked out. So he clearly did not maintain control of the ball long enough to do so.
-
That's not true at all. Once the ball breaks the plane from the field of play, it's instantly a TD as long as the player has control of the ball. A catch in the endzone must satisfy certain requirements after the catch, one of which is a move common to the game or control of the ball long enough to make one. If Ceedee had dropped the ball going out of bounds it would have been incomplete as well. But he didn't drop it. Gabe did. And I'm sure he won't make that mistake again.
-
Why? They wouldn't have made the 53 regardless. This is due to injuries, not talent.
-
Ask Tre. It happens.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

Rushing 3 contain and broken coverage made that play happen. Any QB can make that throw. -
This is a very weird fixation bro.

Weather records show it was 10 degrees cooler during last year's game with more cloud cover. And I think you're not appreciating the fact that we couldn't rotate players this year because everyone was hurt. Just the sheer number of players leaving with heat sickness or cramps should be an obvious indicator of the difference between the conditions.
-
This is the answer. No team has any business beating any other team in the NFL with everything that was stacked against us yesterday, never mind the only 3-0 team left in the AFC. But we were still only a few mistakes short of increasing our win streak of a 2+ score margin. An injured Gabe dropping a TD, a hurt Allen missing an easy TD throw, and Milano dropping an easy pick-6 prevented this game from being another blowout. We likely don't lose to the Chiefs last year with Tre playing either. Home field advantage will never replace good players and good players win games.
-
As you point out, this game was completely one-sided even though half our team was injured and we made a lot of mistakes and the refs jobbed us at every opportunity. Miami fans can enjoy their Week 3 climax to the season. We had a couple of those against the Pats during the drought era so I know how they feel.
-
The Dolphins are acclimated to that weather and their stadium is designed so their team is in the shade while the opposing team has the sun beating down on them. We also had zero depth left to rotate players anywhere.
-
Well he doesn't sprint 20+ yards every play like receivers and he's not carrying around 100 extra pounds like linemen. That, and he's Josh ***** Allen.
-
Every team has injuries, but you won't find another game where one team was missing its entire starting secondary. And that was just the beginning of our injury list going into the game, in addition to the players who went out during the game. These were extreme circumstances.
-
Well what if we only won half of those games by fewer points? Then we have 7 wins in blowouts, 7 wins in close games, and 7 losses in close games. Everybody is happy.
-
So if they had won by fewer points in the other 14 games you'd be happy?
