  1. I never heard that. I'm not disputing that; it was the reason that the Rams ditched him. Seemed OK if not a bit Conrad Doblerish. Hated seeing him do so well for the fish until- well, you know. I certainly hope he has made changes for everyone involved.
  2. I think so. If there is such a thing as watching the WC race too early...
  3. With the lack of true pocket passers in college, teams will either have to develop the read option/spread guys or adapt the offenses. Going with the premise that TT is The Guy, sitting a QB for a few seasons may be the surest way to find and develop that franchise guy. Or wait every 10 years for a Luck or a lucky late round gem. The instant starter franchise guy is the anomaly, yet every rookie is now expected to do just that. How many potential franchise guys were ruined when they were thrown to the fire rather than given time?
  4. It is strange to predict the Bills to win. I feel 34-17, so I'll go with 27-17 Bills, with a possible late Bills TD making my gut feeling correct. The fish scared me more than this Giant team, even after losing to the Jags.
  5. I went with $ammy just cuz he has been a part of the offense for over a year, teams have been game planning him this whole time and McCoy has been injured during his only three games. Now if Karlos can't pick up blitzes at all, that could be a bigger problem than not having a great decoy at WR.
  6. The offense has been beyond expectations through 3 games. With a reputedly complex scheme to be learned, it would be forgivable if there were growing pains. Aside from the Cheatriots game- where they still managed over 30 points while struggling- this offense has been like a machine. On top of that, there's a new QB, new players all over, injuries to the best players and all the built-in excuses we are used to making for every anemic offense that the Bills have ever had. I can't help but think that Roman is a huge reason why. So what happens when they get healthy and know this offense like it's second nature? Bad things, man. Since we are on the subject, I remember a few shots of Roman on the bench with his ginormous binder of plays with TT, and my first thought was, "Look, he is showing Tyrod his photo collection of his all-time favorite sandwiches." I have no idea why that thought popped into my head.
  7. I couldn't understand why the Bills didn't keep after his first time there. Thanks for the article.
  8. Darby has responded better than anyone expected to suddenly being a starter. As someone pointed out, he plays like a 1st round pick. The fact that people are wondering if McLovin gets his job back instead of worrying about how long it will take for him to return is a great development. No one felt good about his preseason games 1 & 3. The numbers look very good, coming against some great QB talent, but what is most impressive is how quickly he learns and applies what he has been taught. If he can punish Eli for targeting him over and over, teams will have to consider throwing more at Gilmore. This is all predicated on Rambo not accidentally destroying him, of course.
  9. I'm guessing that the refs arms are so tired from throwing a record number of flags that they just need to take a break or risk rotator cuff damage.
  10. I'll readily admit that the Karlos pick p!ssed me off. What were the Bills thinking, when they were stacked at RB and there were OLinemen that were available? I mean, I "got" the Darby pick, but wasn't particularly thrilled with it, but this troublesome RB out of FSU?!? C'mon. Through three games, I am starting to wonder if he isn't the steal of the draft. He has been beyond impressive in his limited appearances and is helping heal the wound of Freddies release. I did not see him out-performing McCoy to this point.
  11. Thank you very much, BuffaloBill. I am in a self-imposed exile from another board, and have been looking for a new home. After over 7 years there, it changed too much and was no longer for me, but I still feel the need to post my opinions as well as my irreverent comments. There just aren't any Bills fans here in my new home. Hope this is my new haunt.
  12. Gator fan here. I loved "Mercy" Percy at UF- in the rare moments that he was actually healthy. Since he went pro, he hasn't proven to be worth the price. That is, until this year. Should he remain healthy and continue to produce, one might hope that he would realize that he has found his ideal situation and find a way to stay with a more cap-friendly salary in the future. I don't know that he is wise enough to do that. I can totally see him looking to get another big FA contract elsewhere, not fitting in with his new team, causing problems and looking for his 12 team in 6 years. I could be wrong, and I love his performance so far, but he is too expensive with TTs escalators likely to kick in soon, and the long list of FAs that the Bills have to deal with after the season.
  13. I'm OK with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and a cart coming out to take Brady away. I've been hoping for that every time they run the score up on the Bills. If only someone had the pride to send him screaming to the locker room... But yeah, the holding WRs thing is kinda cool, too, I guess.
  14. The results are largely the same, but at least Rex wants to win these games. I never got the impression that any of the last half a dozen or so coaches considered it a possibility to beat the Cheatriots and thus didn't care. They just looked at the lop-sided scoreboard with the typical dumb look on their faces, trying to figure out which trite cliches they would trot out in their post-game presser. I fully realize that things can go south in a hurry- this is the Bills, after all. But if the players are buying what Rex is selling, 5-1 may not end up being 6-10 like it usually does. This is different from past years. Can they stay healthy enough to make a go?
