You apparently were too busy on thesaurus.com to notice Boomer and his circle the wagons jersey he has been proudly displaying on the air this season.
I submit the following as evidence:

Actually, he scored a 48 (out of 50).
I believe he finished it in 13 minutes, which is also sick.

No mention of Fred? The guy is an animal. Top 10 RB in this league. Yes, I said it.
It is high time he is recognized as such and... Nix and the coaches need to swallow their pride and treat Spiller as a "Reggie Bush" type back! Fred has been running with this type of passion for a long time, is a great blocker and can catch the ball! Spiller should be nothing more than a change of pace back.

I can't stand listening to Faulk. His surprising lack of football knowledge and loose grasp on the English language make for a horrible commentator.
I feel better now.
How can you respect any network that has Michael Irvin as a commentator?
-
Yet, he is getting paid millions while you are on a message board criticizing his intelligence. But obviously, everyone who posts on a message board looks like Brad Pitt and speaks like Abraham Lincoln. Stay classy.
Just like you... thanks!

On the other end of the spectrum.... Leodis McKelvin. The dude needs subtitles.
From Ruthless People... "This could very well be the stupidest person on the face of the earth".

KD in CT got me thinking about this in the OJ/TT thread.
What great careers were cut short by injury and how great would those players have been if not injured?
I'll start with:
Robert James. Had he not been injured I think he would have ended up in the HOF as one of the best CBs to ever lace 'em up. He was truly the first shut down corner I can remember watching in person. Routinely took away the other teams' number one receivers. Warfield, Maynard, Biletnikoff, Taylor, just to name a few. You just lined him up across from the other team's number one and didn't worry about that guy hurting you.
GO BILLS!!!
Nice call on James. He revolutionized pass coverage. I was at the game that he blew out his knee. It was a terrible looking injury.
-
Okay, this thread is about greatest BILLS RB's ......... discussing Bruce Smith is way off-subject.
Not only is OJ the best RB we ever had, but also the biggest superstar we ever had from a national perspective ... (and I mean on the gridiron)
Rubes: God Bless ya in your Bob Chandler jersey. It doesn't matter how many of those stares you get. There will come a time when some long-time BILLS fan such as myself sees it and it gets their immediate attention and will go right up to you and either pump their fist, or strike up a conversation with you.
Back in that time he was a big-time favorite to all us in that era. He made some really clutch 3rd down catches for us and was a top-notch NFL receiver.
And Chandler was one of the best downfield blockers ever. He was a great player but through time has become underrated.

C.J. Spiller, RB, Buffalo Bills: Spiller was expected to add a dynamic presence to the Buffalo offense last season, but it never happened. He was slowed by injuries and had only one start. He played in 14 games, rushing for 283 yards on 74 carries. That 3.8 per-rush average isn't too impressive for a player with his speed. With a year under his belt, I think that speed shows up a lot more this season. Look for a 1,000-yard season from Spiller with a lot of big plays
Frd Jackson is such a complete back, I don't think Spiller's opportunities will increase that much.

He starred in the real glory years of the Sabres. My Dad used to see him up at Finlocks in Clarence quite often and always said he was a real down to earth guy. RIP

It helps when a team has a local kid on it. We all watched James Starks and believed he could be a pretty good NFL player.
PTR
And a local guy being their President and CEO (Mark Murphy)!

Great post, LA. But remember, we post on a board full of guys who have never screwed up anything.
As for Aguilera, i give her credit for continuing to power through the song, when a lot of people would have simply stopped and completely lost it after the mistake.
It was a mistake, plain and simple. Those of you guys clamoring for getting rid of a "performance" anthem need to remember we'd have never had the Whitney anthem if that was the mantra.
Sorry... just because I want to hear it sung in the fashion in which I grew up with and one that our military subscribes to does not make me a guy that never screws up. And yes, I would like to see the "performance" part whittled down to where it shows some respect. Just my opinion... but you are awfully judgemental yourself.
-
It is not old fashioned brother. You expect the song to be treated with respect. What I find interesting is that I would expect a true artist to deliver a vocal performance that is in line with the meaning of the lyrics. No such luck.
-
Besides screwing up the words, can the NFL please... PLEASE get someone that sings it in the manner in which it is supposed to be sung. I know I am possibly being old fashioned, but come on! You get a guy like the one that sang the anthem at the two Chicago playoff games... now that will be patriotic!!!!!!

It's okay, you've seen enough bad in your life as a Bills' fan and you're sick of seeing more of it! Understandable. I actually "ran for the bus" as a fan today, watching only a good 5 minutes or so of the game before switching over to the Saints-Bucs game.
Definately getting old... slept through the second quarter!
-
They weren't running for the bus against the Colts last year...or the Pats the year before...actually, having just looked up the final game for each season from the past few years, I can't realistically say that the Bills have been "running for the bus". Then again, with 40 years of fandom, you have a much larger sample size to draw from memory-wise, but still, this is the first year in recent memory where I could say that they mailed it in.
Good point... thanks! My mind is mush from all these years. Years ago... they seemed to specialize in the "mail in".
-
we need some serious FAs to even field a team next season.
The most shameful thing is that if we would ever improve to average, Ralph would be happy with that and make no further moves to get to the next level...
-
Being a 40+ years Bills fan I have seen so many of these games on the final week of the season I have lost count. I will always be a Bills fan and continue to suffer but I think this shows a lack of respect for the coach and the organization. Where is the veteran leadership... I forgot, there isn't any. Very frustrating.

Their punter is dead meat...

This one did not have the impact of the Stratton hit but was a lot of fun... Dave Washington, in a game against Miami picked up Mercury Morris held him up in the air and SLAMMED him into the turf. It seemed like it went in slow motion ,was in a stadium filled with Dolphin haters and I don't think I ever heard a roar like that from a crowd. It was literally a bloodthirsty cry from the fans!
-
Is it: if you're pressed into service as a kick returner because of injury and blow it like we all expected you to do anyway, you're off the team? Or is it, have one really ****ty game at CB in a 2-10 campaign and you're kicked to the curb? That's leadership!
Maybe it's... I'm tired of your type of player with a 42 IQ that is more concerned with hot-dogging it and shooting your mouth off when you play like crap than a hard working player that will dedicate himself to playing winning football??
-
And what message would that be?
You figure it out...
-
He's actually talented but he has got to be the stupidest player to ever put on an NFL uniform.
How about he changes uniforms? I would love to see Gailey send a message by cutting this guy Monday morning...
-
His heart is huge but let's give him more credit than that. He is just a damn good football player.
Well said.
