  1. I honestly don't know what's up with Joe Brady, but I do know that if he can't get it together, there are a zillion OCs out there that would love the chance to coach Josh Allen. McD has shown that he isn't afraid to make a change. We all recall that 4th quarter against the Ravens in week one with Josh and 200+ yards passing in one quarter, along with his receivers making big plays. We ALL want that!
  2. I seem to be in the minority here, but I feel that when Buffalo had that #1 WR in Diggs, and Joe Brady didn't utilize him like Brian Daboll or even Ken Dorsey. (rushing doesn't account for the QB runs) In 2020, almost 600 passing attempts vs 400 rushing attempts. A 1500-yard receiver vs a 700-yard rusher, Diggs' success catch rate was 65.1 %. record 13-3. In 2021, 655 passing, 461 rushing. 1225 yards receiving, 870 yards rushing. Diggs' success catch rating is 55.9%. Record 11-6. In 2022, 574 passing attempts, 430 rushing attempts. 1429 yards receiving, 819 yards rushing. Diggs' success catch rating is 66.3%. Record 13-3. I already listed what happened in 2023. My point here is that while so many are clamoring for a new #1 WR, like Chris Olave. Even if that player is a Justin Jefferson or a Ja'Mar Chase type that Josh Allen can depend on every pass play, I don't think it would matter in the way this OC schemes his offense. It sure didn't matter with Diggs. The Buffalo Bills have utilized the very same scheme that the New England Patriots used with Tom Brady, you know, the guy who won all those Super Bowls. Offensive Scheme: Erhardt-Perkins. Brian Daboll used this same playbook to build a crazy good passing offense.
  3. It's not delusional if the Buffalo Bills OC gets his head out of his posterior and starts scheming the passing offense as well as he schemes the run offense at times. (EDIT, Brian Daboll was near-genius at setting up a passing game.) What do we know! That Stephon Diggs could juke the cleats off most DBs and make them look silly all the way up until Joe Brady took over mid-2023. (It's why Beane traded a #1 for him.) Bills OC Joe Brady pushed the run game, and Diggs took a back seat. Week 14, after the bye and OC change against KC, Diggs had 11 targets, 4 receptions for 24 yards. Against Dallas, 5 targets, 4 receptions for 48 yards. Against the Chargers, 8 targets, 5 receptions for 29 yards. Against the Patriots, 7 targets, 4 receptions for 26 yards. Against Miami in the last regular season game, 8 targets, 7 receptions for 87 yards. Now, mind you, for the 2023 season, Diggs was killing it with 160 targets with 120 receptions for 1183 yards, 8 TDs. Alas, the Bills were 6-6 at the bye, and despite Diggs killing it, the Bills were losing a lot of games. Clearly, McD made the right call with the change of OCs. That #1 main WR in Diggs took a back seat in being the focal point of the offense after Brady took over. While different receivers had better games than Diggs after the bye. That #1 WR was never the same. Lastly, QB Josh Allen usually throws the most to the receivers he trusts the most, and if you look at catch percentage and catch success rate, that was Shakir and Kincade that year. This continues to be the case even today, as Josh Allen has his favorite targets no matter whose name is called for that play. Joe Brady was the passing game coordinator for LSU while he had Joe Burrow at QB and Ja'Mar Chase, Justin Jefferson at WR for a season. So the man should know how to scheme a top passing offense.
  4. Jim Bob Cooter might be a big name as a new NFL head coach at the end of the season, and Lou Anarumo might be another. That Indy offense is #1 in points, #4 in yards.
  5. That really depends on how well the Patriots finish this season. Currently they are 5-2 with an easy ass schedule, Browns, Falcons, Bucs, Jets, Bengals, Giants, Bills, Ravens, Jets, Dolphins. What, 2 or 3 tough games with 10 games to go? So, seven wins give them a 12-win season. That might be enough for the division or home field. If that happens, I can see the Patriots perhaps losing both assistant coaches. Especially if they win in the playoffs.
  6. Josh McDaniels, OC for the Pats, vs HC Mike McDaniel for the smelly fish
  7. Perhaps McDaniels gets picked to be an HC at the end of this year. Ya think that Vrable will pull a Belichick and hire a DC as his new OC? Naa, we can't be that lucky again. Still, he might hire some bum for his new OC. Pure speculation.
  8. Refs gotta keep the swifties happy!
  9. This! BTW, wasn't Joe Brady the passing game coordinator/wide receivers at LSU with Ja'Mar Chase and Justin Jefferson, and Joe Burrow at QB? Well, for one year anyway.
  10. Okay, my last attempt at this. If everyone gets healthy after the bye, what happens? The run defense does get better with the additions of Hoecht and Ogunjobi, and Milano is back. However, the secondary with Rapp, Bishop, and Tre White, I'm pretty sure they still stink. Jordan Poyer, really? The offense, with everyone healthy and playing well, returns to a top-scoring offense. If the playcalling gets better, the run game works, and Allen has his top targets back. Shakir, Coleman, and Kincade, with the latter having the highest catch success rate at 66.7%. NO Saints WR Chris Olave has a 50% catch success rate. Josh Palmer can get separation, as we saw before he was injured against the Falcons, 2 targets, 2 receptions for 60 yards. We also know that Curtis Samuel can run a 4.31, Moore a 4.35, and Shakir a 4.43. More than enough speed to break away. It's all about how the Buffalo offense is schemed and set up. Right now, the Buffalo Bills are a run-first team that has a power run game, second in the NFL in rushing yards, attempts, and TDs. Bills OC Joe Brady has stolen my heart with his run scheme, but alas, his passing schemes appear somewhat flawed if he can't get the most out of his players like he does with RB James Cook. And even with Cook, he simply doesn't utilize him enough in the passing game. I can see perhaps why, with him having a 35.7 receiving success rate. pretty stinky. So, have him work with the JUGS more often. BTW, fans that say that Amari Cooper opened up the offense just by being on the field seem to ignore that it stayed open even when he was on the bench. McD should tell Joe Brady to get his crap together with the passing offense, or he will hire a passing game coordinator
  11. Currently, this team looks bad or a .500 ball club with far, far too many injuries. This no longer looks like a McD team but rather a Rex Ryan-type mess. I know it's only two losses, but it stems back to the Miami and Saints games. Even being unable to stop Derrick Henry in that first game. Undisciplined in the gap containment, blocking, and tackling. Poor play all around in some games. With the schedule ahead, if they continue on this path, they will be lucky to even have a winning record, much less make the playoffs. In 2023, McD fired and replaced Bills OC Ken Dorsey at 6-6. I wonder if he needs to do the same with Babich this year?
  12. Think of it, Carolina Panthers, KC Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Bucs, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, NE Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles. The next ten games matter a great deal, and Buffalo is currently 30th against the rush, 32nd in rushing yards per attempt. What saved Buffalo's defense last season was an unreal turnover ratio that led the league at +24. The Bills, as of right now, are 15th in turnover ratio at -1. Yikes! That pass rush got to Allen because they simply didn't work the ground game well enough and didn't utilize Cook in the passing game. Heck, the kid was only involved in 53% of the offensive snaps and should have seen far more touches his way. This Buffalo offense is a different animal than what we all watched under Daboll, as they now run the ball more now and it has helped keep the ball away from opposing offenses. That Falcon game was a comedy of errors, penalties, bad play calls, and injuries. They get a turnover, and it's called back because of an offside, as so many things went wrong in this game. At this point, I don't know if one WR would help all that much, as the better teams managed to take Diggs away in some games. Unless it's a Justin Jefferson or someone like him, and no way teams are trading their star WR like him. Besides, it all comes down to who Josh Allen trusts the most, unless you want to spend a third-round pick on another decoy like Cooper. Perhaps all they need is for Gabe Davis to get healthy. However, the Buffalo defense can't afford to wait until week 10 for Hairston, and that is even if he can start and play well. Which I doubt. I see a huge problem with this current defense when they needed to call upon Jordan Poyer to step in. This defense needs help asap.
  13. While I would love to see Tee Higgins and JaMarr Chase in Bills uniforms, it simply isn't fiscally reasonable at this point. Besides, didn't the Bills have the #1 scoring team in the NFL last season with a bunch of JAGS at WR? This offseason, the WR room did improve. Currently, the Bills have a top 5 offense again, only with one of the best run attacks in the NFL. This team at the bye week looks like a real MASH unit with so many injured on both sides of the ball. They get Oliver back, only to lose DQ in pregame warmups. I'm pretty sure the offseason plan was not to have Jordan Poyer play, or Tre White, for that matter. The Bills drafted 3 DBs with the expectation that the #1 pick would probably start, and yet all three are injured, along with the #2 pick at DT. I mean W...T...F!!!! Kincade is out injured, and Palmer starts to get the ball more, but he goes out with an injury. Hamlin, Milano, and Samuel are all out. It's completely ridiculous. QB Josh Allen looked shell-shocked in that Falcons game while under so much pressure and hasn't looked that bad since 2019 against the Ravens. Nowhere to go with the ball, and Brady is not utilizing Cook as much as he should. Two superstars on the offense, and Joe Brady allowed his QB to flounder like a fish out of water. I put this last loss on Joe Brady. Anyway, if we look back to 2024, didn't Josh Allen have one of his worst games in week 5 against the Texans? The Bills brought in Amri Cooper, and things changed. Beane might bring in someone, and he might not. In my view, the larger glaring problem is at CB-S. Hairston might come off the injury report, but how long with it take him to get up to speed? That secondary just allowed a washed Diggs to have a field day, and Falcons Drake London 158 yards and a TD, not to mention Bijan Robinson to have 170 yards rushing with most in the first half. While all of you are talking offense, I'm far more concerned about the Buffalo defense, which is near 20th in both points and yards allowed. Defense wins Championships...right? Perhaps Beane/McD are waiting to see how the team recovers from all the freakin injuries. Like I said, I'm far more concerned with the defensive side of the ball.
  14. Speaking of Diggs in NE. against the Saints last week, he went 3 for 3 for 28 yards. Seems like he found that cliff again...
  15. Can you imagine JosH Allen with those Bengals receivers?
  16. I've lost confidence in Joe Brady, as Josh Allen was under so much pressure from that Falcons defensive line. It also looked like he had no time to throw and nobody to throw to. Allen used to kill defenses that would try and blitz him, and in this game, there was a reversal. Four sacks, two interceptions, and where was the dump-off guy when the pressure hit? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Falcon defense look very much like what we saw in the last Super Bowl, with the Eagles defense dominating the Chiefs offense? Is this what the Buffalo Bills would have looked like had they played the Eagles in that game? Protection scheme fails, QB no hot throws with him under pressure! WTF, this Falcon defense was rated as the highest blitzing team, and how was this Buffalo offense not ready to face this defense? QB Josh Allen looked rattled. It's like there was no game plan prepared to take on this defense...NONE! This game made me rethink that no NFL team is going to steal this OC if he allows his QB, as talented as Josh Allen is, to look this bad. Actually, I'm now wondering if McD is contemplating replacing Brady or hiring a passing game coordinator? Lastly, when James Cook is cooking and the run game is working...why not keep doing that, and yet Brady stopped utilizing him in this game and the Saints game. Cook with 53% of the offensive snaps when the kid is another Thurman Thomas in the run/pass game. Use him in the slot, for check downs out wide...USE HIM! The Buffalo offense failed big time in this game, and it's all on Joe Brady in my view.
  17. In his PC McD stated he did NOT take over the playcalling in that Falcons game. They made the right adjustments in the second half, but still they looked undisciplined at times in the first half.
  18. I agree 💯. Allen has nobody to throw to after Kincade and Palmer are out, so why not put Cook at wideout, which would create a mismatch? It's like Brady has his head up his keaster at times, the last few games for some reason.
  19. I do agree that this team needs a severe kick in the ass player-wise. McD and this coaching staff drill into them every practice on what to do and what not to do, like contain their gap integrity, and they simply don't. Is it because they are so worried about other players doing their job, or just a lack of discipline? I do know that if this continues that McD will take control of the defense, and that should be all the change they need, as he has shown that he can still get it done. In the 2023 season, he called the defensive plays and still managed a top-10 defense despite all the injuries that season. The offense, however, perhaps does need a breath of fresh air with someone like Chris Olave. But that would cost an arm and both legs to obtain him. Joe Brady still screwed the pooch with his playcalling against many teams this year in his failure to utilize Jame Cook in the passing game. Brady didn't even have him see the field for most of the 4th quarter of that Falcons game. I'm not certain as to what to do about all the penalties. Perhaps make the said player who causes that penalty to wear a toilet seat around his neck for the week before the next game. That outta shame them.
  20. What the Bills need is everyone to get healthy, and that includes the 6'2'' WR named Gabe Davis, who is on the practice squad. Then they need to utilize James Cook more than 53% of the offensive snaps. For the love of god, put him out wide for a mismatch on an LBer.
  21. What sucks is that the Chiefs have two former NFL head coaches as their OC & DC, and the winningest NFL HC over the last five years. Not to mention a superstar at several positions on that team, including a generational talent at QB in Patrick Mahomes, a TE in Travis Kelce, and a DT in Chris Jones. This team has been the roadblock that has kept Buffalo from the Super Bowl for the last five seasons. If Buffalo were in the NFC, they probably would have met the Chiefs in the big dance. A few things to be optimistic about are that the Chiefs are currently 3-3 with losses to the Chargers, Eagles, and Jaguars. The Chiefs still need to play Buffalo at Buffalo, the Commanders, and Denver 2x, the Colts, Texans, and Chargers. So Buffalo still has a chance at that #1 seed. With all the injuries to the Buffalo Bills that two rookie CBs are both on IR, and so many others are injured...we could be the 1-5 Baltimore Ravens. Now there is a fan base with torches and pitchforks out ready to boot a SB-winning HC with a 2-time MVP at QB. That team has four #1 picks in their starting secondary, and yet they are fielding the very worst defense in the league. Just relax and take a two-week break.
  22. The NY Giants, in one of their Super Bowl years, went up to Seattle, and their QB was sacked 7x and intercepted 4x, and lost that game. Things looked pretty grim after that game, and yet they went on to win a Super Bowl.
