  1. Buffalo is so very close...except when the bills are decimated by injuries to the defense and shift from 3rd to 1st gear. The Chiefs somehow manage to put it in fourth gear and take off once they enter the playoffs. Regardless of where they end up in the final standings. Buffalo has yet to even win home first throughout by getting that #1 overall to get that so elusive bye week. Also, take away Travis Kelce and Andy Reid and that team is no better than Buffalo...and we might just see that soon.
  2. No team remains the same forever. Just think, now that Jim Harbaugh is with the Chargers the Chiefs will finally have a real threat to them taking their division and having the best record in the AFC. Raiders beat the Chiefs last season and Denver with Sean Payton should be better. Andy Reid might decide to retire soon and that should cause ole Patty to not be so great...unless of course, they are able to find another genius for a head coach.
  3. Buffalo selected Watkins at the #4 spot before Mack at #5, and Evans at #7. Barr was selected by Minn at #9. The kid had one season of 1047 yards and 9 TDs, and that was with 96 targets, 60 receptions a 62.5 catch percentage. In three seasons in Buffalo and played in 37 of 48 games. Mike Evans has played for Tampa for 10 seasons and has yet to have less than 1000 yards in a season.
  4. This was because we had a porn watcher as a GM...he was also an idiot. Watkins made most of his yards out of screenplays and Buffalo didn't run those at that time. If that wasn't enough...right after drafting Sammy the Bills stated that they were still looking for a big, tall red zone target at WR. Hello, Mike Evans at @ #7... LBer Kahlil Mack, OT Jake Matthews, and 13 others went on to make the Pro Bowl in the first round that year 2014. Doug Whaley wanted to bolster his personal pick at QB in EJ with Watkins... who never made the Pro Bowl.
  5. No, what was it? The Buffalo Bills had a 94% chance to win that 13-second game...until they went into a "prevent" defense. Everyone on the Buffalo defense dropped 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage except the four D linemen. Giving Mahomes the underneath stuff and he threw to his best receivers who had more yards after the catch. Ball on the Kansas 15-yard line, short pass for 19 yards to Tyreek Hill. Mahomes short pass 5 yards to Byron Pringle. Mahomes short left to Travis Kelce for 10 yards. Mahomes passes 25 yards to Travis Kelce with 8 seconds left. The ball is now on the Buffalo 33-yard line. Butler for a 49-yard field goal...OT! This past game the Bills were down to their 3rd string linebacker and a guy two weeks off the street. That Buffalo defense was so banged up and so many tending to nagging injuries it is kind of surprising that they played as well as they did in holding the Chiefs to 27. A missed FG ended this year's run.
  6. That season for whatever reason I researched the QBs and came away loving Josh Allen as a prospect. I was elated when the Bills drafted him. So many wanted Josh Rosen and were crying to Beane to trade up with the NY Giants to the #2 pick by giving away the farm. It was all about accuracy and one of the noted draft pundits here stated Josh was a 3rd round pick because of his accuracy issues. The thing is the kid knew all about his accuracy problems and was working on them before the draft...footwork. Josh did well in the Senior Bowl. I was afraid that the Browns were going to draft him #1 overall or at the #4 spot. Or that the NY Giants would draft him at the #2 spot or the NY Jets at the #3 spot.
  7. Let's not forget that it was a missed FG that lost the Chiefs playoff game...not the defense, not the offense. Stuff happens.
  8. Yes, because the defense was starting a linebacker off the street as even the backups were all out injured. If only Buffalo had those two starting Ravens LBers. Bills fans should be marveling about how good this coaching staff is to play so well against the best team in the NFL with a depleted roster.
  9. It wasn't that the Bills didn't try and go deep a few times...alas, Diggs didn't catch that one deep bomb that could have really changed the game and both Sherfield and Harty were useless. Shakir missed a deep middle pass, and Sherfield missed a deep pass. But yeah, they wanted to keep Mahomes off the field as much as they could and it did almost work. Alas, Mr Bass.
  10. First of all the Buffalo offense needs some big-time help in terms of better wide receivers. It's not just the injuries to the defense that held the Chiefs to 27 points. The Buffalo Bills against the Chiefs in this past playoff game didn't have an offensive play for more than 20 yards and the longest play was a run by Josh Allen. WTF happened to that vaunted Buffalo passing game we all saw in 2020? Diggs took the last few playoffs off for whatever reason, Davis was out injured and the only guys who did well were the TEs and Shakir who was in the slot. The others stunk it up. Buffalo desperately needs a new #1 WR and a #2 WR with one who can get open all the time and one that is a deep burner. If Josh Allen had that this season in the playoffs the Bills would be headed to the AFC Championship game along with a possible SB.
  11. You guys all wanting McD gone are simply wasting your time complaining about him as he isn't going anywhere this year. Instead, you could be spending your time looking at the free-agent market and upcoming draft. A real youth movement in the draft might really help this team going forward. Anyway, look at the Baltimore Ravens for the last five years in struggling just to make the playoffs and they have been struck with injuries the past few seasons. Now they are on the verge of perhaps another Super Bowl and John Harbaugh has been there 15 seasons. The Ravens didn't even make the playoffs for three seasons and they didn't fire him. It took him 5 years to get to an SB. The Buffalo Bills just have had the bad luck to face the Chiefs with Andy Reid as HC and Patrick Mahomes as QB the last few years. That and injuries.
  12. Did someone really suggest Bill Belichick as Buffalo's next head coach? The Patriots just fired the guy after a 4-13 season with the offense going 31st in points, and 30th in yards. What a cluster mess that team has been since Tom Brady left and we now know who the real star behind all those Super Bowl wins was. Bill Belichick Told Patriots owner Robert Kraft that Tom Brady was done..and the guy went on to Tampa Bay to win another Super Bowl. There is a real reason as to why so many teams that need an HC this off-season are passing on him. For the lord's sake, the man put a former DC in as the OC, and that guy was just fired as the Eagles DC. At least former Patriots OC Josh McDaniels had that offense working with Mc Jones and ole Bill most likely ruined him with his craptastic picks as OC after McDaniels left. Let's not forget that this owner's first choice for a head coach was Rex Ryan... along with his destruction of the best pass rush in the NFL No thanks, I'd rather not go back to a hit-or-miss on a complete overhaul of any aspect of the team as a new HC would want to do things his way. Like ole Wrex Ryan. Besides I really like what I've seen from new Buffalo Bills OC Joe Brady as the Bills controlled the clock by running the ball down the Chief's throats, 39 rushes for 182 yards, and ToP 37:03. Also, If only the real Stephon Diggs showed up and played well. If Buffalo had a top #2 WR that could get separation and put up some decent numbers would have also helped Josh.
  13. For all, you supposed Bills fans who desperately want a change at HC for the Buffalo Bills. Allow me to remind you of the last nearly twenty or so years between 2000-2017 look how many head coaches the Bills have had...Rex Ryan, Anthony Lynn, Doug Marone, Chan Gailey, Perry Fewell, Dick Jauron, Mike Mularkey, Greg Williams. Now, take a long hard look at the NHL Sabres in that the Buffalo Bills owner also owns. Currently 7th in a division of 8 teams. How many NHL Championships for the Sabres under this owner? Do any of you expect him to fire McD and replace him with... Exactly who do you fellows have in mind to replace one of the winningest head coaches in Buffalo Bills history?
  14. The 13 seconds was on Leslie Frazier for 2021...he is now gone! In 2022 in that Bengals playoff game, the entire team besides Allen was flat. Diggs went 10 targets for 4 receptions for 35 yards. I mean WTF is this guy a #1 WR or not? Shouldn't players step up and play their best game in the playoffs or fall on their faces? It wasn't just the defense that played poorly that day as the offense couldn't get going either and the Buffalo offensive line wasn't as good as they were this. season. One sack all game on Burrow by Milano and Burrow had his way all game. Not to mention that the Bengal's run game ran over the Buffalo defense. If you look at the big picture the team might have been emotionally spent from the Damar Hamlin episode. This team doesn't have a Bruce Smith, or Cornelius Bennett pass rusher that steps up for the playoffs, and because they haven't drafted in the top 10 they won't ever see those. Although, Beane has done a great job in finding players like Leonard Floyd who played great this season. Yet, what happened to the guy in the playoffs? Diggs falls on his face and WR Khalil Shakir steps up. Gabe Davis was out injured. Harty and Sherfield fell on their faces. This team needs to move away from the veterans who are worn out at the end of a long season and bring in younger players is all I can think of. McD has had some really good defenses #4 in points allowed, #9 in yards allowed in 2023 despite all the injuries. 2022, #2 in points, #6 in yards. 2021 #1 defense overall in the entire NFL. 2019 #2, #3. Look at the job the guy did this season in the team being 6-6 to pull out an 11-6 with two playoff home games. I have no idea who would be a better head coach for the Buffalo Bills. On another note, this team needs a serious #1 WR and a #2 WR. If Diggs can't step up when needed in the playoffs... what good is he? Davis was injured and not a real #2 anyway. Shakir has filled in that slot in Cole Beasley's role. Buffalo has two really good tight ends and the newest one could be another Travis Kelce. Filling the roster for the 2024 defense is going to be a big job going forward and you just might get your wish after this upcoming season.
  15. You don't buy it? I suppose you missed the part where a guy off the street was starting at linebacker for Buffalo in this past playoff game. He shouldn't have even been on the team, he was dreadful. What other NFL team could hold the KC Chiefs to 3 points with so many injured on defense? And the team still could have moved on had Bass made that FG. Let's not also forget that Buffalo OC Joe Brady was a rookie play-caller this season. The Buffalo D line went invisible in this game (save Groot, Von). Rasoul Douglas was still nicked up. Dane Jackson was a disaster. No pass rush on Mahomes at all. I have no answer as to why the Buffalo defensive line was nowhere to be found...none! But I don't blame the HC for them stinking it up. Need some new players IMO. BTW, What the hell happened to WR Stephon Diggs in this game? 8 targets, and 3 receptions for 21 yards in a playoff game of this importance. Injured or just worn out? No idea myself. Not blaming the HC though.
  16. Now, think about something for a second. This team just went into a playoff game with a guy fresh off the street at linebacker. The guy might know the scheme but there was a reason he wasn't even on the practice roster. The starter, the backup up, and his backup were all out injured. The Bills still held the best damn team the past four years to 3 points and it probably should have gone into OT if Bass makes that FG. The thing about this team the last few years is they tried to move forward with veteran players and it just might be that after such a long season, they fall off a cliff with injuries. This season they will be financially forced to go with a youth movement as they simply can't afford to keep everyone. That D line especially. It's not coaching because McD deserves CotY for getting this team to where it was with such a depleted force. Injuries on the defense have killed the team at the end of the season the last two years and injuries are not the fault of the coaches. Now think of this era of the NFL like the NBA when Michael Jordan was winning championships as many stars of that time were kept out of the championship games because the Bulls were always in it. The KC Chiefs have been the best team the the NFL for the last four years by being in three of the last four and winning two of them. Things may soon change for Mahomes and the Chiefs as that division just got a whole lot better. Jim Harbaugh is now the new HC of the Chargers. Denver has Sean Payton and the Raiders have a better HC/GM. Hopefully, Buffalo GM Brandon Beane can work his magic and build another playoff roster for 2024 and he has his work cut out for him as do the coaches who will need to coach up some younger players.
  17. Ha, The man took the Buffalo Bills to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor! Just an FYI, his defenses have been in the top 5 for many seasons. They went from 20th or so to #2 overall in 2019 and #1 overall in 2021. The Bills need his defense. The man is an Andy Reid disciple and he knows how important that passing game is as he recently said so. Injuries to the defense derailed the team the last two seasons and with that 13-second debacle, that DC is gone. Crying and whining about this won't change a thing...but, keep it up if it makes some feel better to complain. Think about this in terms of what happened with Dan Marino and with other teams. The Buffalo Bills kept ole Dan from the SB and kept KC, and Denver outta the SB too back in the early 90's. Look at it this way. As good as John Elway was, he didn't win an SB until Shanahan built a power run game in Denver with RB Terrell Davis. Look at this past Buffalo game to see what Joe Brady has done with the Buffalo run game. I'm already excited for the 2024 season.
  18. What is it with all this negative BS? Buffalo lost this last game to KC 24-27 by 3 points because Norwood went wide right. Think about how depleted that Buffalo defense was and they were still in the game! McD has no control over the defensive injuries both this season and last. All you complaining brainiacs should be signing his praises for the job he has done this season without all-pro LBer Matt Milano, and all-pro CB Tre White. Plus, so many players dinged up the last few weeks the team had to pull a guy off the streets to start at linebacker...and the game was still so close. The Buffalo defense still finished in the top ten #4 in points allowed, and #9 in yards allowed. For some reason, the Bill's top WR went invisible in the last two games. Against KC, Diggs 8 targets for 3 receptions for 21 yards. against the Steelers 9 targets, 7 receptions for 52 yards no TDs. Where has Diggs been since week 6? Because he hasn't had a 100-yard game since then. Now, think about where this team has drafted the last few seasons and Beane still manages to find diamonds in the later rounds Dalton Kincade, and O' Cyrus Torrence with those first two picks. Be grateful that the Buffalo Bills have an HC that has taken this team to the playoffs 6 of 7 years and won the division the last 4. This season after being 6-6 the team went on a tear to finish 11-6. McD saw a problem with his OC and replaced him with a man who calls running plays. 39 runs, 39 passes with a ToP 37:03 to KC 22:57.
  19. I'll bet KC HC Andy Reid will retire sooner rather than later.
  20. Look back at that first game against the KC Chiefs in week 14. 11 targets, and 4 receptions for 24 yards, that sucks. WoW.... a #1 WR that was owned by L'Jarius Sneed. Some on Buffalo stated that Diggs was doubled and the KC players stated that only Sneed was covering him. We all love Stephon Diggs. But man, what's wrong?
  21. no 100-yard games since WEEK 6! Dunno whats wrong with the guy but he is currently wayyyy over paid for what he has done in the last two playoff games. This is the time he is supposed to shine. Perhaps he wants out of Buffalo and wants to play with his brother in Dallas? In my view, the Bills need a new #1 WR.
  22. EIGHT targets, 3 receptions for a measly 21 yards Yikes, not a good playoff performance when the team needs a win. If he is injured then let him sit to recover. Sneed is a pretty darn good CB as he only allowed ONE TD this season and that was to Shakir in this game.
