  1. Nowadays getting to a Super Bowl is one the most difficult tasks for a pro sports team. Plus, Buffalo has the very best team in the NFL in their way... the Kansas City Chiefs. This reminds me of the 90's Buffalo Bills that kept KC, Miami, and Denver out of the SB for four years... only KC is better and has a dynasty like the Patriots. All we can do as Bills fans is hope that the KC dynasty doesn't last 20 years as the Patriots did... I have faith in Brandon Beane, McD to get this team into a SB.
  2. While I agree with some of what you say. McD has the Buffalo Bills with the second-most wins over the last five years. It's not McD's fault that Andy Reid is an offensive genius who groomed his QB to an ultra-elite level. Travis Kelce is a big reason for what makes Mahomes so good too. Or that the Chiefs had a much better defense this season and stayed healthy these last two seasons. The only thing that has kept Buffalo out of the SB has been KC with that 13-second crap and Leslie Frazier is gone. McD proved this season that he is a much more aggressive DC and did an amazing job considering all the injuries. Nearly every team was abused by the Chiefs this season and it was more of their defense this year over their superstar QB. The KC GM did an amazing job in restocking that team with players and their secondary... CB Sneed and McDuffie were also excellent ...not to mention Chris Jones.
  3. I posted this in another thread and looking at the poll, I don't understand why Bills fans are so unhappy with this coaching staff. "If the Buffalo Bills happened to be in the NFC they probably would have already been in the SB. The best team in the NFL has kept them out. Wanna see a chart that shows the best teams in the NFL in the last five years? The top five are the Chiefs 63-20, Bills 58-24, Ravens 56-27, Packers 56-27, 49ers 54-29. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/best-teams-in-the-last-5-years-in-nfl The Kansas City Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, now Spags have just been the best team in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills lost to the Chiefs this season in the playoffs... at home... with an injury-riddled defense... by a missed FG. " The way I see it, nothing lasts forever and the Chiefs are just about done considering that Jim Harbaugh is now the HC for the Chargers. The Raiders should be better as should Denver. Buffalo needs to win home-field throughout and have an injury-free end-of-season. Sometimes it's just luck.
  4. WR= NEED. It showed on offense this year and last that the team has no clear speed deep threat to beat that cover 2 shell. In that Cincy playoff game Diggs had 10 targets, and 4 receptions for 35 yards. Now the week before against Miami in the 2022 playoffs 9 targets, and 7 receptions for 114 yards. Gabe Davis had 9 targets, and 6 receptions for 113 yards, 1 TD. This season with Gabe Davis out injured against the Steelers Diggs had 9 targets, and 7 receptions for 52 yards. Against KC, 8 targets, and 3 receptions for 21 yards. wow, that stinks. Brandon Beane really has his work cut out for him this offseason being so far above the cap and with so many needs.
  5. THIS! Plus, a whole truckload of luck! Did the Buffalo Bills have a CB that allowed only one TD pass this season? And that pass was caught by Kalil Shakir in that playoff game and L"Jarius Sneed is the Chief's DB. That other CB on the Chiefs that they moved up and stole out from Buffalo is pretty darn good also in Trent McDuffie. That #2 overall Chiefs defense kept them in the SB until Mahomes could work some magic with Kelce. If more Bills fans would look at that chart I posted they would see that the Buffalo was the second-best team in the NFL over the last five seasons in wins. Only KC was better.
  6. Yep, I agree. The Chiefs with the #2 defense overall beat the Ravens who had the #1 in points allowed, and #6 in yards allowed in Baltimore by 10-17. What happened to that MVP in this game? KC beat Miami who had the #2 in points, and #3 in yards offense in the WC round 7-26. KC beat the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo 24-27 by a missed FG Devastated by injuries is the proper term as that Buffalo team went into a gunfight with the Chiefs and ran out of bullets. What McD did with this defense this season was amazing to get by with so many on crutches. And that 13-second guy is gone! That Buffalo defense this season played so aggressively well at times this season despite losing their all-pro CB, LBer. Look how well Edmunds's replacement played and ... Bills head coach Sean McDermott has RULED OUT WR Gabe Davis (knee), CB Christian Benford (knee), LB Baylon Spector (back) and S Taylor Rapp (calf) for Sunday's AFC Divisional game against the Chiefs. The other players on the team's injury report, including LB Terrel Bernard, CB Taron Johnson, CB Rasul Douglas and P Sam Martin will either practice today or will be held out of practice and be game time decisions. Bernard hasn't been able to practice Wednesday or Thursday, but he "has a chance at this point" to play, according to McDermott. The Bills are set to practice Friday afternoon with the full injury report to be updated after that. Post-practice update at 3:30 p.m. Bernard, Johnson, Douglas and Martin are all listed as QUESTIONABLE
  7. Seriously, take a long hard look at some teams that draft a QB in the first round and how many work out because the team around them stinks. We should all be familiar with the NY Jets, Sam Darnold 2018 (#3 overall) rings a bell, and Zach Wilson 2021 (#2 overall). The New England Patriots with Mac Jones (15th overall) My point here is that everyone assumes that because a new coaching staff is hired that things will automatically get better. Look how new HC Rex Ryan destroyed the #1 defensive line by asking the linemen to drop into pass coverage and the linebackers to make the plays. So many fans here saying that Bill Belichick would be better than McD and if that's the case WTF did he do to Mac Jones? The kid went 10-7 as a rookie under OC Josh McDaniels and he leaves to be the HC of the Raiders. Ole Bill brings in an ex-DC to be the new OC and it probably completely ruined Mac Jones. How many Andy Reids are out there and who is to say someone can find him? A new thread was started asking fans here if both McD and Shanahan of the 49ers were fired would the Bills be better off hiring that supposed offensive guru? Take a look at that chart I posted in that the only team right behind the Chiefs in wins over the last five years has been the Buffalo Bills. Bills #2, 49ers #5. Now take a long look at all the talent on that 49ers team. Their receiver corps is better. Their run game is better. Their defense is better. The only thing that Buffalo has that's better is the QB. On another note, Buffalo Bills fans clearly have no clue about how badly the defense was banged up, and injured for that Chiefs game. That 3rd string LBer just off the street starting for Buffalo in that Chiefs playoff game (in AJ Klein) was forced to leave the game for a while because of an injury... so many Bills defensive players were nicked up and battling injuries. Normally about half that Bill's defense wouldn't even be playing. It was a playoff game in Buffalo so they went out and played. Now take a look at how that high-priced #1 WR for Buffalo Stephon Diggs played in that game. 8 targets and 3 receptions for 21 yards. Pretty miserable in my view. The Buffalo Bills lost that KC Chiefs playoff game by a missed FG.

  9. If the Buffalo Bills happened to be in the NFC they probably would have already been in the SB. The best team in the NFL has kept them out. 10. That's not the reason. In his first season under OC Josh McDaniels, QB Mac Jones got them to the playoffs. 10-7 Then the very next season OC McDaniels went to the Raiders and ole Bill has an ex-DC as an OC. Wow, just wow. That move probably ruined Mac Jones forever.
  11. Hey, I agree that the Patriot's defense was a big big reason as to why they won so many SBs. Especially early in Brady's career. Now look at the guy lately as no teams wanted to hire ole Bill as an HC. The Falcons owner stated that they didn't discuss anything other than him being the HC and still passed on him. Age might have something to do with it. The Patriot's last two seasons were 8-9 and this past year 4-13 Plus, ole Bill told the NE owner that Brady was done and he went. T off to win another SB with Tampa. There was a real reason that no teams wanted to hire the guy. I know sure as hell I wouldn't want to see an HC that hired an ex-DC to be his OC for the next Buffalo HC. Whatever magic the man had is long gone.
  12. Yeah, look at all those NFL teams needing a new HC passing on that guy... Most of the world has come to realize that most of the success of those Patriots teams comes back to the QB who left NE and went to TB and WON another SB with them.
  13. Exactly! Some need to think about how difficult it has been for ANY team to beat the Kansas City Chiefs over the last five years. 2019 won SB 2020 lost SB The Buffalo Bills playing in KC lost 17-26 in the regular season. lost the conference championship 24-38 in KC 2021 lost conference. Buffalo beat the Chiefs 38-20 regular season. Buffalo lost the divisional round in OT 36-42 2022 won SB. Buffalo beat the Chiefs 24-20 in KC. 2023 won SB Buffalo beat KC 20-17 in KC. Buffalo lost to KC in Buffalo 27-24. KC has been in the SB for four of the last 5 years. The Buffalo Bills lost 4x and won 3x against the Chiefs. Buffalo is very close to the level of the Kansas City Chiefs and if not for injuries to the defense in 2022 and 2023 Buffalo might have been in one of those SB's. This last game the Bills were starting an LBer off the street and so many players nicked up and injured on that defense. Not to mention that the Buffalo starting #1 WR has gone nearly invisible in the playoffs the last two years. I sincerely have no idea why so many Buffalo Bills fans are ready to give up on a coaching staff that is so close to getting this team to a Super Bowl. Not only have the KC Chiefs won 3 of the last 5 SBs. They have been the very best team in the NFL over the last 5 years in keeping every team but one in the AFC out of the SB. KC has been the best team in the NFL over the last five years. Alas, nothing lasts forever. Have some faith...have some patience!
  14. When you think about it the guy is working a 7th-round draft pick at QB and they went into OT in the SB. Smart guy...but wasn't he the OC in Atlanta when the Falcon's offense couldn't close out the SB against the Patriots?
  15. Buffalo is so very close...except when the bills are decimated by injuries to the defense and shift from 3rd to 1st gear. The Chiefs somehow manage to put it in fourth gear and take off once they enter the playoffs. Regardless of where they end up in the final standings. Buffalo has yet to even win home first throughout by getting that #1 overall to get that so elusive bye week. Also, take away Travis Kelce and Andy Reid and that team is no better than Buffalo...and we might just see that soon.
  16. No team remains the same forever. Just think, now that Jim Harbaugh is with the Chargers the Chiefs will finally have a real threat to them taking their division and having the best record in the AFC. Raiders beat the Chiefs last season and Denver with Sean Payton should be better. Andy Reid might decide to retire soon and that should cause ole Patty to not be so great...unless of course, they are able to find another genius for a head coach.
  17. Buffalo selected Watkins at the #4 spot before Mack at #5, and Evans at #7. Barr was selected by Minn at #9. The kid had one season of 1047 yards and 9 TDs, and that was with 96 targets, 60 receptions a 62.5 catch percentage. In three seasons in Buffalo and played in 37 of 48 games. Mike Evans has played for Tampa for 10 seasons and has yet to have less than 1000 yards in a season.
  18. This was because we had a porn watcher as a GM...he was also an idiot. Watkins made most of his yards out of screenplays and Buffalo didn't run those at that time. If that wasn't enough...right after drafting Sammy the Bills stated that they were still looking for a big, tall red zone target at WR. Hello, Mike Evans at @ #7... LBer Kahlil Mack, OT Jake Matthews, and 13 others went on to make the Pro Bowl in the first round that year 2014. Doug Whaley wanted to bolster his personal pick at QB in EJ with Watkins... who never made the Pro Bowl.
  19. No, what was it? The Buffalo Bills had a 94% chance to win that 13-second game...until they went into a "prevent" defense. Everyone on the Buffalo defense dropped 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage except the four D linemen. Giving Mahomes the underneath stuff and he threw to his best receivers who had more yards after the catch. Ball on the Kansas 15-yard line, short pass for 19 yards to Tyreek Hill. Mahomes short pass 5 yards to Byron Pringle. Mahomes short left to Travis Kelce for 10 yards. Mahomes passes 25 yards to Travis Kelce with 8 seconds left. The ball is now on the Buffalo 33-yard line. Butler for a 49-yard field goal...OT! This past game the Bills were down to their 3rd string linebacker and a guy two weeks off the street. That Buffalo defense was so banged up and so many tending to nagging injuries it is kind of surprising that they played as well as they did in holding the Chiefs to 27. A missed FG ended this year's run.
  20. That season for whatever reason I researched the QBs and came away loving Josh Allen as a prospect. I was elated when the Bills drafted him. So many wanted Josh Rosen and were crying to Beane to trade up with the NY Giants to the #2 pick by giving away the farm. It was all about accuracy and one of the noted draft pundits here stated Josh was a 3rd round pick because of his accuracy issues. The thing is the kid knew all about his accuracy problems and was working on them before the draft...footwork. Josh did well in the Senior Bowl. I was afraid that the Browns were going to draft him #1 overall or at the #4 spot. Or that the NY Giants would draft him at the #2 spot or the NY Jets at the #3 spot.
  21. Let's not forget that it was a missed FG that lost the Chiefs playoff game...not the defense, not the offense. Stuff happens.
  22. Yes, because the defense was starting a linebacker off the street as even the backups were all out injured. If only Buffalo had those two starting Ravens LBers. Bills fans should be marveling about how good this coaching staff is to play so well against the best team in the NFL with a depleted roster.
  23. Good, hope he gets hired away by some team
  24. Sweet, my dream OC for this offense.
