Liberals Need to Take a Lesson
drnykterstein replied to BillsNYC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I do wonder DC Tom, or at least this is the thought that crossed my mind when I read your post... Of those three things how much did he have to do with causing them? - His foreign policy and blank checks to Israel have obviously caused a lot of Islam hatred towards the USA. - There is plenty of documentation showing the levies were old and in disrepair and requests to repair them had been ignored. - Being President for 7.5 years prior to a recession, I think his policies had a little something to do with the collapse. I mean I personally blame him for at least the wars and the recession. Especially the recession. I suppose pinning the levies on him is being unfair, so I won't do that. Either way, I cannot tell what you feel his role was in all of these. Is it causation or correlation? -

Tell me you don't hate Obama or Pelosi? Say something nice about Rachel Maddow. -

I agree fully. Finally at the end of his presidency, like the last 3 months it seemed like he was finally starting to put his foot down. I do give Bush props for not pardoning Scooter Libby, even though by all accounts Cheney practically begged him to do so. -

Liberals Need to Take a Lesson
drnykterstein replied to BillsNYC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So when Obama made the speech in Germany during the election, and was drawing huge huge crowds at every speech, he was not compared to Hitler and the crowds he drew in Germany? I could not find a quote by Limbaugh, but I could swear I remember him making a comparison to Nazi Germany and Obama's large crowds during the election. If not, I *know* that Fox News made that comparison. Limbaugh definitely compared Obama to Robert Mugabe though. I think that is just as bad. -
Liberals Need to Take a Lesson

Lol. So Rush Limbaugh did not say about the president of my country "I want Obama to fail" ???? I mean, if he didn't wish failure on my country I might consider taking it back. -

So Rush has a 1 : 1,000,000 ratio of compliments to insults on Obama. And you are bringing this forward as proof that Rush Limbaugh is not clinically insane? I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could find something to compliment Hilter on also. Doesn't mean I will. -

lol. and if mccain was president and he solved the pirate crisis like this the liberals would anoint him king. you can prove my hypothetical wrong cuz its true. McCain would literally have the title of king right now. the liberals would love him. also, : on ignoring every other insane and negative thing limbaugh has said. that is very impressive on your part. -

1. Wacka, nice rebuttal. Your argument has me stumped I can't argue with those facts and figures. Very nice. 2. Mr. Blessing... So lets forget these economy recovery spending's going on right now. Lots of money, yes but also they are one time expenditures. Investments in the economy. As far as I know, his plan is a combination of options 1 and 2. Mostly option 1 though. From everything I gather he wants to reform health care (and has not yet released any plan yet) - and if/when he successfully does that, federal spending should drop a large amount. I suppose everyone except me has ignored this quote by him - "We will go through our federal budget – page by page, line by line – eliminating those programs we don’t need, and insisting that those we do operate in a sensible cost-effective way." But you said its a joke and don't believe him. I do. And yes, raise taxes on the top 5% richest Americans. Think that plus the tax cuts for the middle class probably are a wash, but I haven't done the math. Either way I'm a fan because a middle class with more money, in my opinion, vastly improves the quality of life in the country. More people with more money tend to spend it and make the economy spin more than less people with more money (my opinion). The energy stuff I think helps the economy and the long term health of our planet and country. As well as helping to keep us as a technological powerhouse. But I don't see how it helps the budget.

I will try to ignore the fact that you pulled "carter-style" out of your ass because you don't want to say "Clinton-style" as Obama has said himself. Because you know full well that those tax rates improved the economy. ... I guess... where is the data to back up those claims you just made? Personal philosophy is great and all, but running a country on philosophy probably is not a good idea. Take a look at the tax rates in the 50's, one of the greatest times of economic booms in our history. That is data. Look at FDR's tax rates and the improvements in the jobless rate. Look at Clinton's era and the tax rates and the improved economy. And then on the other side of the coin.. look at either Bush, look at Coolidge, look at Nixon. Even your hero Regan, look at the national debt under him. His tax policies are lauded far and wide by you guys, but they were unsustainable just because of the national debt. I trust Obama to respond to historical facts and figures and not some personal philosophy of any sort. He seems to be doing that. Lol, come on, have you seen Da Big Man's posts????? They don't contribute to anything. I really just wish he would leave this board and never return. Even his rare football related posts are just insane. Anyways, its pretty simple. This spending is an investment in the future of our country and economy and not meant to last. The difference is I believe Obama when he calls it that, the tea baggers do not.

New Zealand tourism question
drnykterstein replied to Kiwi Bills fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Haven't seen ads, but if I ever get money to travel, NZ is def on my top 3 list of places to visit. -
Cuz what are they protesting against? I mean this whole thing would be admirably noble except for the part where they have nothing they are fighting for or against. Taxes? Obama just cut taxes for every single one of these people who are protesting. Spending? Well then why didn't they do this when Bush pushed for TARP?
-
Ya I agree. The republican fear factory went so off the deep end on Obama being socialist that people started to think he actually was. So now they don't disagree with it because they think what he is doing is socialist, and then they see what he is doing is pretty good. So they claim that socialism is better. So congrats fear mongerers, you successfully redefined socialism.

Ya, I'll let you speak for me on this one

Gun ownership in the states/mass shootings
drnykterstein replied to Thirdborn's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I bet if it was a common occurrence it would. Why do you think people do that crazy stuff in the first place? They want attention and to do something people will notice and put on the news. If they thought they were going to get all shot up before they could even kill a few people and make the local news... my guess is they would not do it. -
Gun ownership in the states/mass shootings
drnykterstein replied to Thirdborn's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Someone said once that all the mass shootings in the last few years have been in gun free zones, where you can't even carry with a conceal permit. I haven't double checked that, but it seems true from my memory. Maybe if there were less restrictions on guns people would not be able to do that kind of sh-- because they'd get shot by a good citizen before they were able to do any damage. Anyways, ya with unemployment on it's way up, the crazies are going to do even crazier things if they lose their jobs. You may want to carry a gun to protect yourself.
