As I've said countless times, regardless of how piss poor an Offense is, all teams seem capable of throwing for the odd 300 yard game, except of course Buffalo that went 48 games without one. Watching the play calling and how they played games, it was not Allen just being raw, it was McD refusing to let him play offense. Over & done with, but McD certainly could have done a better job and been more creative and allowed Allen to do more the first two years, but yes water under the bridge.

But I also wanted to see his growth a little quicker as I thought it was stunted year 1-2. Remember McD still had Peterman as the starter.... Let's hope it is "all's well that ends well"😜

And I've applauded McD for getting better on that side of the ball.

Did I say it was not fun??? I said I expected to win. I went through the 20 losses in a row vs. Miami and that was not fun. What was fun was beating them when it was two of the best QBs in the NFL going Head to Head (Marino vs. Kelly). The Bills beat BB and Mac Jones..... I know there is this mythical BB aura, but yes the Bills are the better team right now.

The problem is, it only works when the offense is humming as it was on Sunday. If the Offense tripped up at all (a fumble or miscommunication on a pass route, a tip) and then the Bills need to depend on the defense. I am excited, but I want to also have the Bills secure these last two games too. But as said in another thread, I think the Bills are a much better team then NE, so yes my optimism is tempered.

Yet so many keep going on about it being a signature win. I'm pissed they didn't (and they should have) won by 20+.... 2021 hasn't gone as planned, but sorry there was no reason not to expect the Bills the better team to win yesterday. Yes I'm an eternal optimist. Hopefully there is no let down and they win out (6 more games).😜

Bills sacked Jones the first possession & that was it..... Years 1&2 it was holding the opposition under 20..... Now it is under 25 and a rookie qb with a noodle arm? Add to that NE never had good starting field position.

NE only had 8 possessions the entire game. They scored TD's on 3 of them (all 75 yard drives) or 37.5% and that is not good. A tipped ball Int and yes a big break on the Hughes play (and NE penalty) was a turning point. The Bills defense was very good the first drive and made a big stop on 3rd and 3 from the NE 8. The Defense was okay at best.

To call the offense efficient yesterday is an understatement. They walked up and down the field all day. If they hadn't the defense would have looked much worse and probably a loss

The defense was not special yesterday, while the offense was. Defenses are supposed to stop the opposition from scoring tds andn75 yard td drives 80% of the time. NE when they needed to respond to Bills scores did so yesterday. A tipped pass int and yep a questionable penalty that instead of second and 3 (or maybe a first down at the Buffalo 38 if the Hughes late hit stood) instead was 2nd and 18 saved the Bills too in all likelihood. The defense was okay at best.

Ooooh burn.... BTW what did you grade the defense yesterday? A or A+? They were okay and made 2-3 plays..... They didn't stop NE in the redzone and 3 long td drives. If the offense wasn't so good, they would have allowed more points.

Wow you're right one stop..... Let's have a parade..... If Allen doesn't have a game like yesterday, NE probably scores 31+, even with Mac.

Made one impactful stop on a 3rd or 4th and short (yes a one) and that was it.

They basically scored each time the second half and responded to every TD Buffalo scored a TD except at half where they got a bad break (overturned penalty and then there own 15 yd penalty.

Against a rookie QB.....

They certainly look good when playing inexperienced/bad qbs..... Houston, Miami, NYJ, NE, Jax (how they lost that?), Saints......

Go ahead & ignore..... Mac Jones is a rookie & was playing from behind the entire game. Yes there were a few big plays by the Bills. The Int (and frankly the second meant nothing as it was on fourth down and a hail mary) was a great tip drill and let's give them credit. The big play was after the Sanders drop, the Bills did what you want a defense to do. First down was what everyone knew was coming the 1 yard run to give them breathing room. The second a completion and then the important play to stop them on third down. I give them credit. Next possession an iffy RTP call and then regardless of the refs picking up the marker on the Hughes' late hit, the undisciplined 15 yard penalty on NE turned 2nd & 3 to 18 and that was the real backbreaker. The second half NE effectively scored when they needed to on both their possessions and then the second int. Sorry the defense was okay at best. Shaw your posts are great however sometimes you are overly complimentary on the Bills & particularly McD.

NE does not have a quick strike offense or a great QB, however they moved the ball pretty well. Really be honest, they had two 3 & outs from NE (first drive & when they started at the 1 yard line), got that int (good tip drill) and yes benefited from that non roughing the passer call (though the prior call was borderline too). NE's offense is below average on the whole. Don't call that a great defensive performance. And you said it too 0-3 in the redzone.

Huh??? NE is a team that is not quick strike and usually grinds out drives and that is what they did. That is not a good performance. If it was not for the offense controlling the game and facing another below average qb, this could have been a loss. The defense was okay at best. Sorry three 75 yard drives is not good defense.

Shaw you commented on the defense starting the game with a very impressive 3 & out, but frankly three times the Bills scored TD's and each time NE responded with 75 yard TD drives of their own. The reason NE was held under their averages was because the Bills offense was so good and kept them on the sidelines. The defense was not that good.
