Clean bill of health for TE Tommy Sweeney
kirkwoodus13 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is the best TE on this team. Had really good chemistry with Josh his rookie season. He will be the second TE in 12 personnel groupings. Coming out in the draft he was considered one of the better blocking TE but he really surprise people with is toughness and hands across the middle of the field. The battle for the other TE position between Knox and Hollister will be fun. Lets all agree Knox is not reliable. -
Please put in. Claim for Kerryon Johnson

This guy is a beast when healthy. Coming from Auburn University he remind me so much of a young Levon Bell. This guy was a absolutely great in the SEC. Unfortunately he went to Detroit who had no idea what they were doing. They brought in AP when they had a first and second round draft picks on the team at the same position. This guy is better thAn Moss and Singletary. He is the answer to the running back position. Let’s get him now. -

[Name Only Title] Aldon Smith

High character... the last time I check the kid QB from Georgia is still on the team.. Stop judging people you don’t know.. We are trying to win games. I am talking from a football point of view. Are we confident with our defensive line as constructed right now? -

Yes Mario was good for us... but go look at Mario numbers in his first 3-4 years against Aldon Smith. The bottom line is we are not winning a Super Bowl with our front four who cannot get to the quarterback without blitzing. -

Go check the stats.. besides Bruce and one year of Bryce Puap who is better than Aldon Smith. Don’t say Aaron Schobel or Kelsey.. Aldon Smith minus the other problem is a hall of fame talent and would be the best pure pass rusher on this team. Again high risk, high reward.. Wr have a bunch of guys.. no game changers.. We need one.. -
THis guy was on a hall of fame pace.. We all know what happened to him over the last three years. But this guy can play. Last year with the Cowboys was solid. He would be the best pass rusher we have had since Bruce Smith. High risk ... high reward. His talent is undeniable and could take this defense to the next level.. Minimum veterans salary with a lot of incentives for production. Let’s go Bills

What about Trent Murphy's future?

He going to New England and will ball out. Remember the pats wanted him before the Bills showed him the money -
The one free agent i want us to get: Okwara
kirkwoodus13 replied to offyourocker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is easy Go get Von Miller.. Injury risk? Yes... but that dude is a monster and game wrecker. Could play either side if the line.. -
I am sorry but teams seem to know what we are going to do in third and long situations. The defense have to win on first down this week to get KC in long 2nd and 3rd down situations. Then Leslie and Sean has to send pressure to get the ball out of Mahomes hand quickly. I expect a lot man to man this week. Tre White need to earn that contract on SUNDAY
-
Yes it is because if 24 does not make that play, then go back and look at the amount of times the defense had the ravens in third and long situation on that one drive alone and could not get of the field. hopefully we don't pay the price against KC. I want a defense that the offense automatically turns and hand the ball off those situations because they know that defense is either going to stop you or worse take the ball away. Teams don't fear us in these long yardage situations
-
The Ravens game was very nerve wrecking for me to watch. Especially when the Bills have opposing offense in third and long situations. The Bill always prefer to play it safe and rush 3 or 4 and drop everyone back into coverage. I don't know about you guys, but can the coaches please stop and throw that defense out. How many times do we have to watch the quarterback hang back there and have all day to find a soft spot for a completion in this defense. How many times we have to watch our linebackers and corners sink to deep, miss tackles and be indiscipline and try to jump a route. Why are we not aggressive in these situations and force the QB to throw the ball quicker , allowing us to hopefully come up and make a tackle. This terrible defense cost us the game last year against Houston and almost cost us last week. How do we give up a third and eighteen to a running quarterback? Go get him the same way we have been doing all night. Fortunately for us the Chiefs third down and long defense is just as bad as ours. Just watch last week Browns defense to confirm. Which ever team wins this area of the game will be going to Super Bowl. I just hope our coaches don't play conservative and have Mahomes convert a long third down to keep a drive alive to beat us. How do we fix our third down defense and not give us heart attack. I am at the point where I am surprise if the other team does not convert a third and long against us.

our running backs are to slow. When there is hole , they take for ever to get through it. here is an idea... should have brought SHADY McCoy back.. Shady right now in this offense would killing it. He is better than what we have right now

Coaching/feel for the game
kirkwoodus13 replied to kirkwoodus13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am sure a lot of you have played organized sports before. In basketball do you call a time out if your team has momentum. Usually the other team does to stop a run or regroup. In this case the momentum was on the BILLS side. Arizona had no time outs left. Go and look at the play clock and see what was left before McDermott call that time out. The cardinals were flustered. They didn't expect the previous play to take that long. The right call in that situation was to have your corners play the sidelines and tackle everyone in bounds. There is no way anyone can say that momentum was not killed by that time out. I also submit that our use of the clock at the end of the half was horrible. Bass bailed him out with 58 yard field goal. why would you run the ball in that situation instead of throwing especially since you have been throwing the entire game. Its call feel for the game and I am sorry right now the coach doesn't have it. Hopefully its get better from here. -
Like many of you I am still trying to process how the bills manage to loose this last game to Cardinals. When did you realize that we were going to loos this game? I knew it, the moment Coach McDermit call that unnecessary timeout. That timeout like so many decisions he has, made at the end of half or games was so ill timed. Coach does not have a good feel for the game. He remind me of Billy Donavan his first couple years at OKC coming from college. He would jump in the air a call time out in the middle of a possession. Leaving Durant and Westbrook confused. Arizona had just wasted 23 seconds on the previous play. They had no idea what they were going to do next. At most they had call two plays and was probably going to run a quick out to get extra yards. By calling that time out, he gave that team a chance to regroup. Murray intentionally rolled to his left. I guaranteed they practiced that play before . That time out showed a coach who more often than not don't have feel for the game.

Any news on Tommy Sweeney?
kirkwoodus13 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sweeny is the best tight end on this team. His connection with Josh is obvious. Kroft is decent .. 88 is unreliable therefore Josh don't trust him. Sweeny has been underrated from his college days. he is and excellent blocker and has much better hands than KNOX. Wish we had package Knox and Kroft to get Ertz from Philly. The tight end position is killing this offense, not just in terms of catching the ball, but more importantly pass protection and run blocking. -
RUN DEFENSE FIX. YOU ARE WELCOME COACH
kirkwoodus13 replied to kirkwoodus13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But the true nickel, in this case 24 is playing like crap in coverage also and is a liability against the run, why not play NEAL. Maybe help him out in coverage by using a linebacker to assist in coverage. -

Some people on this board are so annoying. If you want to complain about someone's writing and not the substance of the opinion, please keep your immature thoughts to yourself. We are here to discuss BILLS football. -
RUN DEFENSE FIX. YOU ARE WELCOME COACH

The run is getting gashed every where. Tackling especially from Johnson has been bad. NEAL is a better player than Johnson right now and he should be playing more. -
RUN DEFENSE FIX. YOU ARE WELCOME COACH
kirkwoodus13 replied to kirkwoodus13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I can run the ball control the clock, keep a high powered offense of the field, control down and distance making it easier for my defense to dictate the game. There is no dominant one dimensional offense. Great defense usually stop the run and make teams pass. Except for KC this rule will work against everyone else. -

still have to run and stop the run to win championships. -
The 3-4 games of the season, the bills defense was vey good . In the jets game Bell was very effective as a runner and passer, even though he didn't have big statistical number. In a that game one player in defense was hurt and subsequently missed the next three games. The player that took his spot was a rookie last year and has been dominant on special teams. To me, its not a coincidence that our run defense started to look horrible since this starter returned to the line up. Number 24 JOHNSON needs to be benched or given a chance to compete outside for Levi spot. The starting nickel should be number 33 NEAL. He has been great this year on defense and special teams . When he was moved from safety to DB, I was skeptical. The move worked really well. Why the coaches went back to 24 is a beyond me. Neal has out played Johnson. He is bigger , better tackler, better in run support and cover skills is just as good. I am tired of seeing Wallace and Johnson getting beat. If Oliver could loose his starting job to Phillips based on performance, why is 24 still playing in front of 33. Put this kid back in and see how his physical style change this defense. He reminds me so much of Cam Phillips. Keep this kid on the field and our run defense is automatically better. You are welcome .

EJ was ruin just like they are ruining ROSEN right now. Bad dysfunctional franchises would do that too young players especially QB'S. There is no way Rosen has four - ten seconds in the pocket and miss wide open receivers like Allen does. He was more accurate in college than Josh and I would bet all things being equal, he is now.
