ANYONE ELSE HAVE SYMPATHY FOR HACKETT?
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to BillAndPhilFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it was crappy for Marrone to leave him out to dry like that, especially after making our offensive troubles in 2014 look like Hackett's fault. -
Should we sign DeMarco Murray?
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to TheBillsWillRiseAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most importantly when it comes to the discussion of how much to spend on an RB, this is a viable alternative to finding a great QB. Outstanding defense + outstanding run game + average QB can win games. And an RB like that is a lot cheaper than a star QB. -
Should we sign DeMarco Murray?
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to TheBillsWillRiseAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reason I even started this thread is not only how well Murray did this season, but the type of back he is. That's the type of back you want if you're going to run a ground & pound offense. We currently don't have anyone on the roster that we can feed the ball to that much. And while Gore is(or was) that type of back he's 5 years older than Murray and doesn't have nearly as much left in the tank. Cuz we all know that Spiller, Bryce Brown, or Boobie will never bee RBs that can carry the ball over 20 times a game for 16 straight games. -
Do I think this whole thing with the pressure of the balls is hugely important? No. The Patriots would have undoubtedly won regardless. It's the Patriots' consistent willingness to bend or break the rules to gain an advantage that I have a problem with. For a team that already has one of the longest and most dominant franchises in NFL history, with the greatest QB of all time and the greatest Head Coach of all time, why the hell should other teams have to put up with them cheating? Isn't it hard enough to beat them as it is? They're cocky, condescending, annoying, AND they cheat. The NFL needs to do more to stop them.

The problem with only upgrading the line is that we're not magically going to become a line that just any RB can run for 1800 yards like Murray just did. -
Looks like he'll be out of Dallas this year. With no really good QBs available to the Bills this FA, Rex's defense+ground£ philosophy, and the rest of the Bills roster already well-fitted to that philosophy would Murray be the final major piece to turn us into a Seattle-like team? Throw in an upgrade or two at OG and an average vet QB and the 2015 Bills become an instant Superbowl contender imo. Maybe not a favorite to make it, but definitely a playoff team and in the conversation. http://www.givemesport.com/538802-demarco-murray-reportedly-not-happy-with-cowboys-4-million-a-year-offer

Sorry, just scrolled back down my facebook news feed and I was wrong. Victim of tricky social media headlines. UPROXX posted a video link earlier that said Patriots were being investigated for deflating balls and the picture was someone bent over on the sidelines doing something, but when you click on the link it just plays the video of when the refs stopped the game to switch the balls.

I'm sure he'll do wonders for their offensive line.

Someone Tell Me Again Why Buddy Traded Lynch...
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the same reason that the Seahawks are expected to let him walk: He's a tool and a huge distraction. -
All I'm saying is that IF he was guaranteed to retire if they won the bowl this year I'd happily root for them to get him out of the league and end his reign of terror. Nobody is going to remember the 15 year playoff drought of the Bills(except us). They're going to remember Tom Brady. Nobody is going to look back and have expected the Bills to do well when Tom Brady was in their division. People don't talk about how crappy the goalies were that Wayne Gretzky scored on or how bad the pitchers were that were pitching to Babe Ruth. Our 15(+?) years of failure will all be summed up in one lump category of "the time when Tom Brady dominated the AFC" and we won't get out of that shadow until he retires.

Just bought my tickets! Section 142 row 20.

If it meant Brady retired I'd root for them in a heartbeat. I don't care what anyone says about "wanting to beat them with Brady so it's more honorable or meaningful" or whatever. People seem to get lost and unaware when we're watching it happen before our eyes, but people looking back will grasp the situation much better; it's simply unfair that the Bills have had to have Brady in their division for 15 years. We're not talking about a good or great QB. We're talking about someone who will probably go down as the best QB in the history of the sport. That's like being a professional boxer and having to fight Muhhamod Ali twice a year for 15 years straight or playing baseball and pitching to Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle every game for a decade and a half. When people talk about the first decade in the NFL of the 21st century 30 YEARS FROM NOW Tom Brady will be a legend and the Bills will be a tragic footnote, only worth mentioning because we contributed to all of his records. The next evolutionary step for the Bills and every other AFCE team simply cannot begin until Brady is gone, regardless of how much we want to romanticize about finally toppling the giant through our own roster's talent and cunning. And unfortunately that's probably still 3-4 years away. So yeah, I'd root for the Pats if it meant he'd retire. I'd get his number tattooed on my ass if it meant he'd retire after this season.

Who is really looking forward to the Super Bowl
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to Nasty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The two teams I dislike the most playing for the championship? Yeah not thrilled. The only thing I'm looking forward to is a 3rd consecutive Pats superbowl loss to crush the souls of Pats fans everywhere. -
If We Wonder Why Here's More Evidence .
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every RB the Pats trot out onto the field looks great. It's been like that for years. Know why? Because of their offensive line and Brady. Blount isn't some amazing diamond in the rough we missed. When there's great blocking and a QB you have to respect in the passing game, my grandmother could run for a few TDs. -
