  1. this is so stupid I have an idea, why doesn't the NFL actually have league officials in charge of game balls starting 3 hour prior to the game. and exactly why is this a big news story...oh yeah, because people now think NE cheated. Yep that's why they crushed Indy 45-7!
  2. Ground and pound us great if you are ahead. Now down 21-3 make it challenging. Having the ability to throw down field and score quickly certainly has it's benefits. However in reverse, if you are up 21-3, really helps prevent comebacks when you control ball on the ground.
  3. Gotta agree here. Looks like this will be a great stadium when done. Dramatic reduction in seats taking out all four upper corners.
  4. it's funny no one talks about those guys being the greatest QB ever minus Marino. Peyton is always talked about being the greatest QB in NFL history yet when it mattered most he rarely came up big. Some players get the most out of what they have, according to the main stream media, Manning was awesome, he didn't need a offensive coach, he was the OC on the field. Heck, the team didn't even need to change formations ever, but perhaps, had he been more willing to accept coaching and allows them to help him, he wouldn't be a guy with massive stats and a horrible playoff record. Marino, Kelly, Moon rarely played with a decent defense let alone a great one. Indy several times had better defenses than the Bills or Miami had. Is Peyton a HOF QB, yes, so are those others, but he should have won more titles, based on ALL of his success.
  5. for me, Peyton Manning is top 5 great stats but 1 title
  6. I don't like they way they worded some of those trades. The Colts trade a 1st round pick for Trent Richardson is more accurate. Cleveland got something back when they gave up what appears to be a useless player (drafted at #3).Cleveland still managed to screw it up by wasting the draft pick. Minnesota traded 8 picks for Walker and helped the Cowboys build a championship team. I know it semantics but the loser should have their name attached first on a list like this.
  7. Let's move training camp to Antarctica. Get em' ready for the cold.
  8. After three seasons isn't it time to rework Mario's contract and free up some cap space. 19.4M isn't a user friendly number, however, if the Bills could find a way to get that number down to say 11M, you can do a lot with an extra 8M in space. I want to off season focus on fixing what needs fixing, pass rush isn't one of them, As long as Mario, Darius and Kyle are on the front, we will generate pass rush, plus Rex Ryan's blitzing style always finds ways to getting to the QB. We need to fix that O-line, though I think a new offensive philosophy will help get more out of the 3 soon to be second year O-linemen. Get a big play TE. A bigger WR who can play. Find a QB who can either push EJ or play ion front of him. I don't want to hear the EJ sucks crap, we've heard it all before. If the Bills can't find a QB, EJ has to play.
  9. " we want to be a nightmare to play against." that was the line that I liked the most (yep came from the owner). "This fan base deserves a loyal coach." said Rex Shot straight at Doug Morron!
  10. I know it's a return to Pettine system we ran two years ago, but I truly wished JS would have stayed on board. His defense was better all around than the one we had two years ago and the players really seemed to love playing for the guy. I want Rex to be a hands off coach and let the offensive and defensive staff just do their things,
  11. Let's face it, for the Buffalo Bills, hiring Rex Ryan as the head coach was a coupe. However, it doesn't matter if they hired Bill Walsh, winning is not guaranteed in the NFL. I read that people have discussed Rex's defenses and what he has not been able to do on offensive side of the ball. I'm not certain any of that matter. What is significant is the simplistic question, did Rex Ryan learn from his Jets experience? We should all hope the answer is yes. Many of the truly successful head coaches in this league work the way Marv Levy did. Marv, along with guys like John Harbaugh, and Mike Tomlin, don't coordinate the offense or defense, they hire guys to do that and over see everything. They make the critical game day decisions, they take the bullets when things go bad and reap raise on others when things go well. I hope that Rex does keep Jim Schwartz as his defensive coordinator, mainly because it says, my ego isn't as important as winning. We know he will be hands off on offense, so why not be hands off on anything. Manger the coaches you hire. Know what everyone is doing but don't micro-manage. Trust those who have been hire until such time where it doesn't work.
  12. Seattle's DB are big on top of being fast. We haven't seen the combination of speed and size in a secondary for a long time.
  13. Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 14s15 seconds ago Rex Ryan is the first head coach off the board, expected to not only coach the #Bills but play the #Jets twice a year
  14. Did you notice, NONE of the openings have been filled yet. Think everyone is waiting until this weekends games are over. Most are likely targeting coaches still involved. Seattle losing (extremely unlikely) would mean two hirings by themselves. Denver/Indy and NE/Baltimore is going to free up two guys to get hired.
  15. thank you Carolina Panthers for introducing this scam on the fans. 2 premium season tickets for ten years will only cost you $197,000!
  16. I have no reason to think this but I think Buffalo wants 1. a HC with experience 2. a coach willing to keep the current defensive staff 3. someone who wants to work with EJ (this one is obvious) 4. not a huge name
  17. who cares! Marrone can rot in hell!
  18. I live in NC and have watched 6/7 ECU games, I like Carden but he's not a guy who will jump in and be the answer. Former ECU coach Steve Ligan feels he has the skills to be a good backup and with quality coaching a decent starter.
  19. but he didn't hit a home run with EVERY pick seriously the bad 2nd round pick doesn't help him nor does the lame offensive line he put together. However, we are all ready an A$$clown organization, why change coaches and GM's yet again? Make no sense.
  20. I voted for Schwartz but Darrell Bevell, OC Seattle is my #1 choice. I just don't think you can afford to wait a month to get a coach,
  21. did you notice that Oregon basically runs 3 plays? Just different versions of those same three plays. Read options left and right. Which can be run from more standard formation or end around formations. Bubble screen left and right. Which can be faked and turn into double go routes. Quick three and five step slant routes. I don't think a thin play book like that will work in the NFL.
  22. Apparently, Houston is great at drafting DE. Both may have been first rounders but I think neither can be called busts. I'd also love to see the AP All-Pro team change. why is there a FB? No one plays one on a regular basis. Add a 3rd WR. On Defense, since there is a balance between 4-3 and 3-4, why not have the defense voted on with a 4-4. One extra defender getting recognized is not going to hurt anyone. They also need to expand the number of voters way beyond 50.
  23. JJ Watt was a first team All Pro DE AND a second team All Pro DT.
  24. you do realize he was referring to EJ Manuel and not Sammy Watkins
  25. No matrter how you slice it, the national perspective is that the last 24 hours are basically the same old bumbling bills. Sure, it seems like most fans are happy that ultra conservative Doug Marrone is gone but seriously does this move really make us better? If so how? Now Bill Polian says nope, I don't want to sign up for that. Here's a crazy idea, maybe, just maybe we should trust our young GM. Perhaps the trade up for Sammy Watkins was the wrong move but it was the first time in forever the Bills did something aggressive. It appears the GM had too much faith in EJ Manuel but I don't think those two moves alone means we should blow everything up. Why was he given the reigns in the first place if he was good enough? It's time to put our faith in guy who wants to be here. The first order of business is to evaluate the options. I have no problem with Jim Schwartz but he has to have a good OC coming in, someone who knows how to work with QB's. However, make a few phone calls. Gus Malzahn would be one call to make. Personally, I wouldn't leave Auburn but you never know until to make the call.
