  1. The Miller sack discussion and pics is interesting.  JoeB gives credit to Epenesa for collapsing his side, but it also looks like Big Phil played a big part.  It looks like he has his man beat but is not taking advantage of it, rather he stops and jumps to prevent Mahomes from throwing to the left side where he's focused on.  That delay provides the time for Miller and Epenesa to sack Mahomes.  Now it could've been coverage that prevented PM from throwing, but I think the big man deserves credit too.

Allen is like Neo from the Matrix after Morpheus tells him "Don't think you can do it...KNOW you can!" and once Allen started to believe that midway through last season it's been pretty much over for opposing teams on D.

I don't think that was the issue--believing in himself.  I was looking at discussions from the past two years, and the issue many of us described, as I phrased it, "the only person who can stop Josh Allen is Josh Allen".  Once he learned to stop the hero ball and always looking for the big play, and realizing that taking the check-down was okay, he became nearly unstoppable.

We are awesome in kick and punt return coverage, and mediocre in kick and punt return average.

Edit:  oh, and Football Outsiders is where those rankings are…

Thanks. Fortunately, the poor return game doesn't matter for this team...  😎

[In fact, I believe they get TDs 100% of the time when starting inside their own 5 yard line!]

And we have the only starting QB in the league averaging over 300 yards a game(Believe or not Flacco averaged 300.3 in 3 starts). I don't think this game will be close and the fans will be going nuts with it being a night game, first game since beating KC and not seeing our team play in 2 weeks. Josh 341 yards passing, 48 yards rushing, 3 passing tds and 2 rushing tds. Bills - 48 Pack - 17.

That's why I find it interesting.  When you look at the passing D stats, most of the teams the Bills have played are at the bottom, and most of the teams at the top have not played many good QBs.  Cousins and Brady both threw for 270-80 yards against the Pack, so I think your projection is close on yards.

DL maybe not taken care of for as long as you might think.

Von Miller of course locked down thru 2027

    Rousseau thru 2024

    Boogie through 2024

Epenesa through 2023, so just next year

    DaQuan just through 2023

    Tim Settle through 2023

    Eddie Oliver has a 5th year option 2023 $10.7M

    Jordan Phillips just 1 year

Now me, I agree with you that we're way overdue for stacking up some OL talent.

I'm just pointing out that Beane is probably glancing over at the DL contracts and writing a DL shopping list.

A minor point, but Rousseau would have a 5th year option to get him to 2025, which I'm sure they will use it.

the haters? if you get a chuck roast put in front of you then get a juicy prime rib placed in front of you... if you chose the prime rib does that make you a hater? Just stop man. Shakir has so much more to offer at a way younger age.

Oh, I'm okay with Shakir taking more reps from LD, and I think Crowder was certainly increasing and taking his snaps before the injury.  I like McKenzie for the unique things he does, and despite having a bad game yesterday, he adds value to the team.

As for hating on him, it's the nature of the beast when someone has a bad showing. I remember people complaining about Gilmore when he gave up a TD one game. People who only focus on the negative will always find someone to pick on.

Sure, whatever you think. Sometimes guys come along at different rates than others. Guys have been known to be in the league for years before developing into special players. Sometimes it's opportunity, sometimes it's injury, sometimes it's other factors. I don't really care.

They may be different situations, but there are similar underlying features. One is drops. I'm sure you weren't one of those calling for a replacement for Knox when he was dropping multiple easy catches.

The hate on McK is largely unwarranted.

The haters need someone to pick on and there aren’t many choices on this team.

Haven't watched the PC's yet - I was wondering about Josh's hand signal on the last TD - he waved to the inside but threw to the outside.  I was wondering if it was some kind of misdirection, but Knox simply didn't see it.  Knowing that and then rewatching the play - the split second where Josh waves - realizes Knox didn't see it - then just says F it and throws the dime laser to the perfect place - high and hard just barely over the defender in front  (kudos to Knox for coming to the ball aggressively).  Incredible

Here is another point he made that just tickled me...

Seriously. This game had ping-ponged from 0-0 after one quarter to 3-0 to 7-3 to 10-7 to 10-10 to 17-10 to 17-17, and you’d think taking a lead in the fourth quarter in such a tight game would mean joy to a crowd that year after year leads the AFC in decibels. But no. I’ll guess why: The Kansas City fans respect Allen so much that they knew handing the ball to him with nine minutes left was a recipe for either danger or disaster.

i really havnt been on here since before the game and i'm not swimming through all 40 pages. So maybe its been mentioned already. But a huge takeaway for me is the Bills being able to stifle run games with light boxes. Thats such a HUGE freaking advantage. All year long we've heard about this dominating interior OL in KC. if you take out Mahomes 4 scrambles on pass plays the chiefs ran 14 times for 57 yards!!! 3.3 a clip.... This team is going to be REALLY hard to beat if they can keep that up.

After a whole season of being labled soft in 2021, the #1 run defense in the nfl now resides in orchard park.... This also should pay large dividends come january when teams have no choice but to run the ball.

There was a lot of debate about what the Bills should've done--WR vs DL (vs DB), and I think it's hard to question the emphasis on the DL now, both in terms of stopping the run and getting pressure. I think you can point to 3 games last year where the inability to stop the run prevented the Bills from getting the #1 seed -- Colts, Titans, and Pats at home.

The Bills offense is #1 in the league and the defense is #2.

So, with 12 games left to go there is still time for the D to get their **** together, but they need to start taking these games seriously.

Edit:  Also, the Bills have scored the most points in the NFL, which they’ve also chased that with being tied for giving up the least points in the League.

    Honestly, wow with this team.

If KC scores > 23 points tonight, the Bills will be second on O.

The Harp, no question. Arrive early for big games. There are  3 sections: Main bar, rear bar, basement bar. They hold around 400. When things go over capacity they spill over to Hurricane's on Canal.

There is also a Bills Backers chapter at the Fenway Bleacher Bar on Lansdowne St. Not as heavily attended or as wild as the Harp but still a haven for Bills fans.

I'm going to be in Boston this weekend with my family, so I probably won't be able to make it up to The Harp.  Staying in Seaport area--any place to recommend there?  Thanks.
