Playing with a lot of heart is one thing playing angry is NOT playing smart. I relish the days when the Bills play without flags on EVERY play. A player with talent does not need to be angry to succeed.

The rational of prolonging the tyrod decision
cd1 replied to Footballsdeep's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course, we should keep in mind that the notion of in-fighting and indecision at OBD is based on the speculation of one or two sports writers grasping for anything to write about in the deafening silence of February. -

They can write whatever comes to their pretty little heads and there is no accountability. There is absolutely no BS meter to test this crap with. One thing that is absolutely true though, La Canfora, Vic, and the rest of the gang got their articles in for the day. It must be Beer O'Clock. -
It is not about who is better than Tyrod, RIGHT NOW.

Middle? We have been in the middle 8-8, 9-7. I would LOVE me some 12-4s and some Playoffs! If THAT is settling, sign me up. -

I guess the real problem is that the Bills are a rudderless ship. UNLESS coach McD is the real deal. Time will tell. -

Has any team ever really came out and announced that they were tanking the season? PLUS - Regarding the PLAN - For many years of the drought, Ralph Wilson's plan was to keep the team on life support until it was passed down and eventually sold - so there was THAT PLAN. NOW - We have new owners who are OWNERS but not neccessarily FOOTBALL PEOPLE. Plan = Find someone to make plan. What the Bills REALLY NEED is a PLAN MAKER then... -

How does this work as a business model? The Bills are in business to make $$$$$$. What are the riskes involved in tanking a team that has held untold numbers of it's fans on by a fine thread woven only of hope. A team now absent of every good player and little HOPE of winning will most likely have a lot of empty seats in the stands and not many will want to spend hard earned $$$ in the fan shop. Income would plummet! Fans, many now set free from the purgatory that was Bills Fandom, would not likely want to return after a year or two of freedom. For THIS TEAM tanking could mean coming back like an expansion team. Vitually fanless. -

This (bolded) makes the most sense. I can't see Kyle staying if they were going to tank the team. It just maes no sense. -

But, But, But - Tanking IS good for a team - just look what it has done for Cleveland... :sarcasm: -
Thanks Scott for being willing to take us all in. Yes, there are some naughty ones, but most of us are just Bills Loving Fans. Maybe the naughty ones are still waiting on the other side... anyways - Thanks again!

So, just for the record, you believe you can stick Brady on ANY NFL team and he alone will get that team to the Super Bowl. If this is the case, why not just draft QBs with every pick in the draft until you find your "Brady"? -

official Buffalo Bills message board shut down

Thank you, Meanie for articulating what so many of us feel. I must say tho, I thought the board went down due to a cyber attack or a severe need for an upgrade. It just seemed so - "in the middle of the dayish". Jeez, I was in the middle of posting something. I also think that OBD is just too chicken to hear REAL criticism and perhaps, as hot asa it was over there, it was about to get hotter. Anyway, Thanks again, Meanie -

Tuel occupies a spot on the PRACTICE SQUAD What other quarterback do you want to pick up that will qualify to be on the PRACTICE SQUAD? PRACTICE SQUAD EligibilityPractice squads are considered to be for developmental purposes. Therefore, veterans are not eligible to be signed to the practice squad. In fact, players with more than one year of accrued NFL service are not eligible. Here is a closer look at the eligibility requirements. A player is eligible if he does not have an accrued season of NFL experience. Players gain an accrued season by being on the active roster for at least six games. If a player has one accrued season, they can still be practice squad eligible if they were on the 45-man active gameday roster for less than nine regular season games. A player is deemed to have served a season on the practice squad if he remains on the practice squad for at least three weeks. Players are eligible to be on the practice squad for two seasons. Players can be eligible for a third practice squad season if their team maintains no less than 53 players on the active/inactive list at all times.

Of Cheating and the past 15 years
cd1 replied to TheBillsWillRiseAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People try to excuse the cheating saying "it really did not effect the outcome". The Patriots have earned a reputation as "the best in the League". But try to step back just a bit. I can't get past the thought that "If they are SO GOOD, why do they still find the NEED to cheat at every turn"? To persist even while getting caught and incurring fines and sanctions, suggests that Belicheat and Brady feel the cheating gives them an advantage and thus is worth the risk. They humiliate and run up the scores every chance they get. If you win like that, why cheat? It leads many to suspect that what they have been caught doing is just the mere tip of the iceberg. It leads many of us to call into question every win the have had. Undoubtedly, every future win as well. They have made a mockery of Goodell and the NFL. -
