I would like to get home safe to my young kids just like I’m sure everyone else does. If that makes soft, I’m cool with that

Dude quit being soft!!! Paint your walls with lead paint, get the whole family smoking ASAP, youre going to want to have the deet truck's route and time down perfectly, CAN NOT miss that. if this is how the parents of the generation that ruined the housing market raised their kids, we have to METICULOUSLY replicate that plan.

we should all feel honored to die going to our favorite laundry's entertainment event! WAKE UP 🤣🤣🤣

We need our DT’s to hold the line. Poona and Settle are just ok. We cannot have Poona, settle and epenesa in at the same time against a run first offense.

was he hurt last week? or just pass happy matchup strategy? i dont remember hearing anything on inj report but noticed he was missed last week. hugeeeeee signing

I am 11 days into dry January. I do it every year but this year I was particularly focussed on it because I did worry that in the final months of 2023 I might have been pretty close to being dependant. The opening of a bottle of wine when I get home / finish work had become a core part of my own stress management. I have found it much easier than I thought, which in a sense is reassuring that I am not as close to dependency as I might have feared.... but also the fact that I don't really feel like a drink suggests that at the end of last year I was drinking through habit not because I particularly wanted a drink and that in itself isn't a great place to be.

I don't have any intention of giving up longer term, but post January I am definitely going to try and put some better guard rails around when I do and don't drink the rest of the year. Because it an easily become a crutch.

I wont pretend to know your status with alcohol, and everyone is very different, but booze is conniving and tricky.  It will convince you its every factor (oh me and :booze type here: dont get along very well, if i avoid THAT one, ill be fine) other than the booze. Try to take a close look at it through January, and see if anything changes. Nothing but love from me, im not anti-drinking, just anti-me-drinking lol take care of yourself and just be aware of how tricky it can be.

personally for me, i had it down to, "as long as i dont drink liquors ending in letter A, on days I eat ham, and wear no show ankle socks, im fine" lol being facetious a bit, but really i had a million of these that i believed hook line n sinker

Substance abuse is real, it is ugly, and it can have terrible consequences. Anyone can develop it and suffer. Congratulations to him and everyone else on their efforts to lead a healthy lifestyle.

at this risk of sounding self-servy douchey, i hit 4 years clean last Saturday. LITERALLY saved my life. reach out to family, friends, a 12step program, a professional, doesnt really matter who, just get the ball rolling and youll find your route there!

Josh's jump/surf move takes his size and strength out of the equation and probably limits the effectiveness of the play. Once he's on some guys back he's nowhere near the same threat to push forward and much easier to stop.

Agree, it was just gamesmanship. Where everyone has in their head get as low as possible, then *BERMAN WHOOP* Josh goes over the pileup. Would like to see him leave it in 1 of every 4 or 5. Just makes defense hesitate a little about getting low which makes things easier

Chicago is about to get a massive influx of talent, thanks to astute draft day trades.  If they decide to keep Fields they are going to get a massive haul for the pick they got from Carolina…they will possibly be able to add MHJ or Odunze to their receiving corps, to go along with DJ Moore…the Bears’ future is bright indeed.

On paper lol but they're the Bears. I just can't trust them to not fumble their fortune a la Raiders/Mack trade.... until they stop their perennial garbageness. Then again the Lions are good, so what do I know lol

  8. 4 hours ago, BBFL said:

Agreed. Think that 7–10 buys him one more year. For the sake of that franchise I hope if he is retained he takes a long hard look at getting a replacement if the Fields experiment falters again.

Do you feel they go QB or ride the pine another year?

As tempting as stock piling picks would be, they'd be dumb to pass up Caleb. Unless somehow they can land work out a deal that gets them  #2 (Maye) and a top 5 that lands Harrison. Sounds crazy but we saw Houston pick #1 and #2 or something like that recently, so maybe but proli no lol

Wow, Saints players decided to call their own play and overruled Dennis Allen to score a TD rather than kneel down.

Winston called it a "team decision" and has no regrets. Said they wanted to honor their teammate by getting him a TD for his selfless play all year.

That's pretty unusual I would think.

Usually, but jameis is the weirdest dude in the league lol I could see it being his idea, 10 other saying NOOOO and him audibling to the play anyways 😆😆😆

Offense v Defense has forever been cat and mouse game that keeps evolving.

I posted a while back that offenses this season are down compared the last decade and heading into this weekend teams are averaging 21.95 ppg. Comparatively the last five years offenses in the NFL averaged the following ppg:

    image.png.e4c183054cd6b294c9a47329fde99e6d.png

Defenses have evolved and it is not just playing Cover-2 shell, but far more creative blitz packages that do not send a ton of rushers but are very focused on how they attack the QB while covering the defense. Offenses are having to earn their yards far more then before. Additionally offensive line play has regressed as they keep reducing practices which takes away important developmental time. McDaniel and Miami were ahead of teams for awhile last year, but teams have caught up to there motion offense and figured out how to disrupt Tua better. I do think this year is a bit of blip with the ppg cratering to levels not seen since 2010ish and the injuries to so many major QBs also removed some of the better QBs from being able to drive offenses.

But there certainly has been a swing back to defense this year which has been growing for 2-3 years now and I think you are seeing that in spades.

ive been saying it since the offseason. defenses have been drafting smaller/faster players on defense to deal with the high flying passing offenses. last year we saw NE, Cle, Ind make an emphasis on the run games.... all dealing w/ below avg QB production, and leaned in on light defenses. CLE/IND the last few years have been the wildcard type nobody wants to play because of their unique style/lighter defenses.

interesting development. didnt expect us to get on board, but did see a run game resurgency coming. i think their will be some bigger Brandon Spikes type players develop a role through the draft/FA again next year. this shizz moves in cycles lol

Respectfully disagree, it’s the mind that usually holds the person back in instances like this. Physically the knee is repaired and ready to go, mentally he doesn’t trust it yet.

take him to indy, mcafee can bang on it with that 'ringing of the shoe' hammer. thatll show him he can trust it again

He has 4 targets for 1 catch in the last two weeks.

Even in the week before, he had 8 targets for 5 catches for 21 yards.

He hasn’t eclipsed 50 yards receiving since the Denver game.

What’s going on? Is he hitting a wall, while LaPorta breaks records? Did Knox push him out of the lineup? Was he a Dorsey guy? Has he been hanging out with Elam?

What say you, and can we expect some first round production as we gear up for the postseason?

LaPorta s success or any other rookies busting has nothing to do with DK2. He's been nice for us, we're playing awesome. I, as well, as the rest of the team DGAF what his numbers are if we're winning, moving thr ball, and he's growing while helping others open

Along with two good TE's, a good offensive line and a capable #2 WR in big games, the offense 8 times out of 10 won't be the problem.

LOL whooooooooo. luckily we can spread it around elsewhere cause the #2 youre referencing is like our 5th best pass catcher, maybe worse, im not thinking that deep on a friday night

luckily hes basically been wrote off by now, and if he does anything at all it will feel like bonus more than production we "need"

Dolphins could literally take the next three games off, and still win the division by just beating us.  Crazy every time I consider that.  We just gotta keep winning at this point.

Weird take, probably the only person looking at it this way. They essentially have a 1 game lead over us because we do play them week 18.... and they have a gauntlet of a schedule, which we are just now exiting... and theyre heading into the most critically banged up.

sure "Dolphins could literally take the next three games off, and still win the division by just beating us" is technically true if we were to also lose out.... but why make this point lol youre essentially just saying they have a lead

you ever turn on start of 4th Q NBA.... the Heat are beating Clippers by 1pt.... "THE HEAT COULD TAKE THIS ENTIRE QUARTER OF, MISS EVERY BASKET, AND STILL BEAT THE CLIPPERS" .......well sure, if both teams forfeit the quarter, thatd happen

Dolphins have no choice but to push that putrid lil s*** #10 out there.... this might be the last game this year they arent underdogs in.  If i were them id be pushing him to grind through this game, with the promise of vet rest and maybe sitting out following week vs DAL

Interesting though. How long after procedure till they're gone? I'm sure you can help flush em out, but wonder what they'd do if someone just refused to evict them lol do they just hang out grow beards, and develop general anxiety syndromes lol

I would only give Davis a one year prove-it contract.

    Serious question.... prove it?

Not being a jerk but he has "proved it".

He's proved he has a limited:

    Route tree

Limited speed, explosion, ability to separate, generate first downs, help Diggs see some regular coverages.

He can't catch. We might as well be 10 on 11 out there cause Josh's trust is rightfully gone in him.

What exactly is he good at?

Redzone firedrill TDs, we can call that a plus! What else does he do well? Is he replaceable to this offense?

Is his replacement on the team already, and cheaper/better? Shakir could be, but slot/outside problems come up there maybe....

Either way I'm letting him walk 100 of 100 times. He's a detriment to the team in so many ways. Sucks cause he seems cool, hard working, but I'm not crying over losing him.

Go draft the best WR (or maybe two) that you can lol to me that's a position we are going to need to constantly restock cupboards cheap.

    Analogy for the kids:

Gabe is a WR, I'd say equal to a Doge Coin. Those are pretty worthless.

However, we have Josh Allen, he's like QB Elon Musk. Josh throws to a Dogecoin WR, they catch it. Welp, now that Elonnnnnn is talking about Doge, that thing is gunna pump, just like any WR that succeeds here, is gunna go get PAIDDDDD. Over-paid.

We're going to lose a higher % of drafted weapons, after their first contract. We'll lock down #1s but we will be losing young weapons that you wish you could keep

Best to keep the WR factory running every year. Take some shots to go after another whale! Is the Trade up price lower in a year considered a deep WR draft?

Have a conviction? Go get the guy. Take two in the early rounds If board falls right.

IMO this is a shining example of how instant replay has made the game worse. If we go the Zapruder route on every single play, I have no doubt we'll find something to complain about on a large number of plays. Replay is a necessary evil but the slo-mo replays do more harm than good.

I said same thing today. Game took 5hpurs it felt like... and were overturning original calls, where it takes 10mins scrutiny to arrive at?

How can it be both 10min case study and clear enough to overturn.

Here's what I'd do... 1 team challenge a game, keep them inside 2min drills with upstairs call. Refs get max 2mins once they start tape, if it takes more than 2mins, it's not clear. Streamline this.

Even better If you apply all this AND use a command center.

Replay should be for egregious absurd bad calls to be fixed, or atleast a quick fix on less vital challenges.

It's made the game worse and the calls are no better. And fans are even less clear on rules then ever before, we just knew what a catch was or wasn't. A little common sense and bones of rules had everyone on same page.

Now we have to declare a state of emergency, bag the grass as evidence, check for DNA Matches... meanwhile 10million fans at home are subjected to a proctologist exam

The Chargers ran it but it’s never delayed like that. Usually it’s catch and lateral. It possible it was a play and Kelce gained way more yardage than they thought he would get and it delayed the lateral but I think we would know that by now from the pressers

No the one I saw was 2 outside wrs on opposite sides. Each one ran an in route on opposite sides. Once catch was made it was much more a cross field pass then a standard hook n lateral.

Texans run it maybe? The play was For a long first down conversion

But yes, an all-timer for sure.

    Curse you say?

Wycheck sadly passed today, and Buffalo survives a crazy lateral play.

Franky nudged God and whispered "back in 2000, it was forward. Never been able to tell anyone that. Do the right thing Big Guy." And ammendments were made.

    Curse lifted. Superbowl!

No way it was designed like that specifically.

They may practice keeping yourself available in late game situations for something like that, but Kelce ran 10 yards and made two cuts before he saw Toney and threw it.

Maybe someone else remembers this. I saw this exact play, just at a smaller scale 2-3weeks ago.

Might have been college but think it was pros. Anyone remember? This makes me think it was wrote up as an option of sorts. Reid is good, I don't think that was ad libbed

Still 3 more after that, and we will need help. We do not control our destiny, so we could win out and still not get in.

NYT simulator has winning out as 99%, and they don't show decimals on any, so it's probably 99.999 kinda.

In the grand scheme of things you are correct but damn it's hard for me not to want to win this game the most!

Mentally for me this is the big one. If we beat kc/dal back 2 back we will be a hot team on a roll, and the schedule backs down from there!

3 home games, only away is vs Chargers and they might be down Herbert and into an interim HC
