If i'm Brady, I don't want that debacle.

Obv im biased and dont want him to leave, but legitimately I dont want that for him... the place is a black hole! Literally murders the career of every QB drafted there.  HC same. You end up with a legitimate "Jets stench" on you... its like some companies would rather hire entry level to train ppl the right way, then re-train someone with previous experience.

Unfortunately, our Sabres also have this.  Scared to bring in even a player for fear that their stench rubs off on their stenchless roster.

Anybody think that the Jets wouldnt have ruined Josh?  Gross thought, but id bet heavy that hed have wound up in Darnolds shoes, no question

I would take the interview for experience even if he has no intention of going there.  Experience for what is going to happen in situations where you WANT the job is invaluable and allows you to prepare better.

Anybody know if these OC meetings during a current season are remote?  They gotta be right?  Start remote-- maybe heats up and a few virtual meetings, once season is over they can get face to face.

Hell, id even be cool if Jets came to Buffalo and got a hotel suite to talk in, but theres no way in hell current Coordinators should be traveling to other cities for these interviews until season is over

I saw a Ravens fan reaction video today and his question was simple: What on Earth can we do from a roster perspective that leads to a different result?

They have a 2 time, likely 3 time MVP under center (leaving aside whether those are deserved). They have a HoF running back and an All Pro Fullback. They have a Pro Bowl WR1 and TE1s. They have 2 more All Pros on defense. If the coaching staff can't get to the Conference Finals with that roster, what else can they do? Ownership might decide that a decent HC is easier to find than another QB

Personally I find this more incriminating on Lamar than Harbaugh.  I get why as a franchise you cant let a guy like that walk, and at the same time the risk there is Team Success Purgatory.  If there was ever a year Lamar had his best chance to do it, it was this year with this surounding cast.

Easy for me to say with no mulltimillion dollar, secure job on the line... and I said this at the time... but they shouldve traded Lamar.  They were and are hovering right at their ceiling..... so what do you want as an owner/coach/fanbase..... guaranteed winning season over all else?  Or do you possibly trade 'consistent regular season wins' for a potentially higher ceiling?

If Im GM or Coach, I wont lie; im keeping that formula.  Very high risk!   Now as a fan, theyve won twice, maybe thats good enough!  I really wouldnt blame them

If Im a fanbase like Buffalo w/ McD, and I think were stuck at a ceiling; I might be willing to get more aggressive.  Luckily, for now at least--- I think McD is near but not at his full ceiling, BUT Josh is showing us each year his ceiling get a little higher.  THAT Josh + this McD -- can and should get it done.

However, if we watched Joshs game plateau at what its at now... and we hit another 2-3 year skid; losing in 2nd or 3rd rd.... then im willing to take try for the Phil Jackson/Doug Collins gamble

While i certainly hope we wouldnt intentionally Nerf him from the offense for an entire season and 2 playoff games...  something I have been screaming for is Ray Davis Redzone Carries, and it 100% seems like we saved that look for playoff deep stretch.  That one would make a lil more sense to save though, since we have Josh and Cook for the RZ, which is more than good enough to have gotten by with.

I dont even disagree... but we dont KNOW either.  Take a room full of loud, jacked, and rich frat boy type personalities in a locker room; throw a quiet intellect who likes to ball, and you wouldnt know the difference between the two.

It wouldnt surprise me if thats it, and hes here for a paycheck.  hes professional enough to play at a high level and NOT love it.... also wouldnt surprise me if our run game development has naturally taken him off the field.

could simply be, him and Josh havent synced up yet... theres g2 be a reason NFL is the only league we see next to 0 in season trades... nor do we see barely any player for player trades.  if it worked better, we would see it more.

I didn’t see a topic on this. Might not be worth it. You’ll let me know.

Josh went full 2020 for a split second when he got stuffed on that 3rd and goal. He saw Cook and - to me anyway - it looked like it took everything he’s learned over the last 3 years to just take the sack and survive to live another down and not go Superman to try an insanely low percentage play.

My heart sank when I saw it - but just another example of this being the best year for Josh despite the numbers being slightly lower. Growth and maturity. Oh and rocket arm and MVP and the only quarterback in NFL history.

Eh i saw what yall were thinking, but I think the camera just happened to be at the right angle where it looked like he broke the 4th wall for a second... legit think his head just got pushed in a way

Here's the thing, KC rarely turns the ball over, so teams need to play clean and sharp against them........basically good old fashioned role up your sleeves and go to work for 60 minutes and on every play.

If you can't win an honest game without having to rely on turnovers, i seriously have no idea how long that will carry you.

It's carried us this far, however, so KC will be a true test.

----I feel a big one thats been understandably forgotten (I didnt know until today). Buffalo had 1 "penalty" (DDawk's ***** Trap; BS).  That was huge and im sure has been an extra component of stress during this last week, and entire year.  This would greatly help us next week!!!

How did your actions yesterday help the Bills to win?  Something you ate?  Did you change your shirt at halftime?   I’ll start…

I went to the game, wearing my hand made Bills sweater my Mom (RIP) made for me, Christmas 2023.  It is now 4-0 for games.

There were signs all day yesterday!

#1  Wife put out during the early afternoon yesterday. Just wow, unbelieveable team player yesterday!  Really wanted that W, knew we'd need a mediocre D to get it done and boy did it

#2 Was watching brand new comedy special Ari Shaffir yesterday, there was a Bills joke.  Great job Ari

#3 Won $69 on the first game.

Thanks for all your sacrifices, but maybe the biggest off all was Fitz leading the charge!!!  Not even kidding, that performance had to be worth a point or two for the crowd yesterday!!!

Josh made a great quote in the press conference about the whole Allen vs Lamar media debacle. It was along the lines of “I’m not playing Lamar Jackson. I’m going up against the Ravens defense and they’re one of the best.” If there is one pet peeve of mine, it’s the whole QB vs QB thing. The Allen vs Mahomes is the one that gets under my skin the most because the defense/coaching/ST are what lost us the game, but somehow Allen gets the blame despite playing nearly perfect. I feel like people forget it’s a team game and it will always be a team game even more so as of recent where running backs & physical defensive play style are all making a huge comebacks. We nearly had multiple 2000 yard rushers in the NFL along with Buffalo being the first team with both a 30+ passing AND rushing TD season. It’s Harbaugh vs McDermott, Bernard & Milano vs Henry, Bates vs Rasul, Van Noy vs Dion Dawkins, etc. My point is there are crucial matchups all over the field in every NFL game. I get that QBs are the super stars of the team, but this isn’t basketball. You need 11 guys executing perfectly along w/ good play calling to exploit mismatches. I always hear people saying Allen does it all by himself and the Bills have subpar talent. That is crap. We have the leader in Rush TDs in James Cook and a beast of an o-line who have been playing their asses off. It’s insulting to them when the media/fans say this Allen vs Jackson BS. An great NFL team is a well oiled machine that needs all the moving parts to function properly or the whole thing could break down. Too much credit (and blame) is always given to one sole individual. Thank you for your time and GO BILLS 🦬1️⃣🏆

This always comes off as rude, but I'm intending to be helpful. This formatting is brutal on a message board to read.

Like I said, we don't know how Koonce would project as a very undersized DE in a very different system.

Khalil Mack and AJ Epenesa are not comps.

Despite being the physical prototype that the Bills want in an edge,  Epenesa is a liability against the run.  In that context of run indifference his inability to generate even more pass rush/sacks is disappointing.

Mack is maybe the best edge run defender in the NFL.   Certainly one of the very best(I personally think Rousseau is the best).   I don't expect him to ever get up to 17 sacks again like in 2023 but I'd like to see what he could do in that regard while playing opposite an offense that blows out opponents as frequently as the Bills do.   I don't see him commanding a really big contract and it would make sense to chase a ring in a division that doesn't include a QB like Mahomes.  And the UB ties etc..  Koonce has those ties too but he had one good season and missed all of last season to a knee injury.   Mack played 16 games and put up 2 sacks against CJ Stroud Saturday.

Is he though?  He was coming out.... but we put him on that strange calista flockhart diet.  Seems too small now and either gets washed out easily, or takes a 180degree loop path to the QB, taking too long and losing contain. His entire tenure here has been strange

BC this board is in perma-negative mode 12 months per year; unable to stay in the moment and enjoy another great, successful season.   Not their fault.

This is a function of the media-induced "win super bowl or you suck" mind set.   SB winners get all the accolades, all the media hype, all the coverage, the White House tours and victory parades and the other 31 teams can go pound sand for another 7 months of "soul searching" about "what went wrong" and "we need this or that to win the SB".

Rosters and coaching contribute heavily to but don't guarantee winning single elimination tournaments.   Teams that get through single elimination tournaments execute very well (or at least at a higher level than the opposition) for 3 conscutive weekends against comparable competition (wild card round games are usually mismatches).   Importantly, breaks, penalties, key injuries go their way for a 3 games in a row; good fortune has a fair amount to with getting past each tournament game "gate".   Having the last possession of the game, for example is a big deal; basically the clock is one arbitrary barrier where luck and fortune play a part.

If the Philly guy doesn't get called for hitting Mahomes on the sidelines in that SB, the clock runs out, Philly wins and KC loses, for example.   Its all about execution in the big moments between closely matched teams.

The NFL salary cap has assured that no one team can build a "dream team" that will simply overwhelm the entire league.   What's great about McBeanes is they have consistently maintained a top 5/top 10  roster around a HOF QB.   Now its just go execute in 2 or 3 games at a high level and you get through the tournament.   It won't happen every year.   It won't happen most years bc of the variables stated above.

What I still haven't figured out is why when you fire your HC the entire organization gets fired as well and you start over.   That is devastating to a franchise and seems strange to me as the HC is really just an overseer for the most part.

Some of this youre reading is negative nancies...... but a lot of this is die hard Bills and college fans, thinking about a draft too.  I know plenty who like the draft more than the SB (obv when Buff isnt in it).  Im by far not the most knowledgeable college fan, but im constantly looking ahead to the draft.  Even if we win the SB this year, Ill be excited looking forward to the draft, and not just who Buffalo takes.

The draft is fun for all 32 teams, and a day where every fanhood can feel good about the future.  The whole process is interesting to many, even guys that watch 0 college

Never adjusts the defensive scheme when needing too! It is possible to do, as many DC's that win SB's do in games. If he only knows a Nickel Defense and thats all he will play then that tells you all you need to know.

Plus his defense always seems to be unprepared. Look at the top offenses we played this year and tell me how our defense faired? Rams, Detroit, Baltimore, Houston  (at the time)?

So I never understand this.  Why does the NFL allow a third party group of sportscasters and journalists decide who is the NFL MVP and NFL All Pro(s)??  Wouldn’t the NFL want to control that list?

I feel like each teams GM and/or Head Coach should get the votes, with a rule that you can’t vote for anyone on your own team.

this reminds me of how they used to award the college football “National Champion “.   Two polls- and coaches poll and the journalists poll.  Uhh which group do you think knew more about the best football team? The football coaches or the nerds in the press box?

at least these days, it seems like more and more former players have votes.

honestly, im over caring. i think it'd be the ultimate flip of the bird for Lamar to win, Josh and Buffalo tunes their a** up.... goes and wins SB (and SB MVP), the only award thats not some debate.  Meanwhile Balt has bunch of all-pro, has the MVP, and then has a "better coach" and they lose LOL  i hope the staff cranks up the spite this week in the locker room,  on the field and in the film room.

He has been successful with the greatest offensive talent in college football history at LSU and a Bills team with one of its best offensive lines in history, a Pro Bowl RB and a Hall of Fame QB. He failed in Carolina with a low talent level. His route structures are very basic and Josh has created an absolutely insane amount of off schedule plays this year it’s hard to even know what it looks like without him. I prefer to retain him for continuity and I love how he has gotten Josh away from the three point offense Dorsey had. But I don’t see some mastermind, and in my opinion, if he leaves he will have a very similar fate as Daboll.

Garbage take, seriously. Rhule firing him was the biggest scapegoat job ive ever seen.  Dude took Teddy B and pumped out just under three 1k receiversSamuel, DJ Moore and had Robbie freaking Anderson looked like Jon Brown in his prime there.... all while CMC was out.  That was a very fun offensive team to watch!!!!  2 of those 3 WR's have not matched that output since then
