well, that term is a blast from the past. And yes, please do read the article. Don't worry about the author's political stance. The facts strike me as true. I'll be glad to explain how the system works, and how the system fails if you have questions. It's all right there in the example the author uses of one repeat illegal entrant from Honduras.

Has anyone heard Trump finish a thought?

How 'bout we just don't vote for him in the first place, thereby avoiding the inevitable? https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/14/trump-music-sways-town-hall/ OK, there's the teleprompter telling Trump to take two more questions after the weird music/dance interlude. Did they have a malfunction regarding which plants were going to ask questions? Were they the same people who fainted, thereby leaving no pre-selected questions? What on earth was this? Weird. Overused word, but yeah, really weird. -

As you guys used to remind us several times a day, there's a difference between 71 (when he was first inaugurated) and 83 (when his term would end) .... -
I hate to say it, but the Senate is looking bleak for the Dems. But I do agree that Ted Cruz is more than a little nervous - he just called out McConnell for not spending money on his race. In other words, just a little too close for comfort. I think Cruz is more concerned about winning by an embarrassingly slim margin than he is about actually losing.

10/14/24 Game 6 Bills at (NJ) Jets MNF Post Game thread

Exactly. -
I am old enough to remember when simply MAKING the playoffs seemed like a implausible dream.

Not just in their heads. They should've won last night. The missed field goals and the incredible Taron INT sealed it. Other than KC, who has really stepped up to look like an AFC contender? Not us, not the Ravens, certainly not the Dolphins. The perennial "on the cusp" Chargers?
-
I think the idea is to turn those missed field goals into missed extra points.
-
... Tarzan. Who actually made a difference last night! One (count 'em, one) big catch but involved in PI penalties, blocks, etc.
-
Pretty sure Aikman called Taron one of the best in the league, last year and again last night.

I'm not sure whether to say thanks or whether to start a flame war with @leh-nerd skin-erd. Let me think about it. Some of you have quite correctly called me a know-it-all. But you'll just have to trust me that there are a very few things I actually do know a lot about, and our immigration mess is one of them. I encourage folks to take some time to read this article, which (1) sets out a factual summary that fits with what I've seen hundreds of times; (2) points out that it is true that forces on both sides (yeah, the old "both sides") really haven't committed to ending illegal immigration. It could be done, but it can't be done at the border. https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/border-crisis-texas-solutions/

I suspect they'll try to work out another trade deal before the deadline. Reddick overplayed his weak hand here.
-
Haason Reddick, bye-bye. We hardly knew you. Jets have already saved $5 million from Reddick refusing to report.

Reminds me of post-Bills Zach Moss. Maybe with a little Singletary cut back ability. All 3 draft wins!
