  1. This is why I still think Nate Silver is the best in the business. Not all polls are created equal! He weights the higher quality polls more heavily, and notes what he calls the "house bias" (R vs. D) of the various reputable polling operations. (The house bias doesn't mean the poll is bad; it just means that for whatever reason certain polls tend to consistently overrate one side or the other by a few points.) And, of course, he completely ignores trash polls. And so he has Kamala leading in the popular vote by a slight margin, but Trump with a very slight edge (we're talking 54% to 46% chance or so, kind of like a football game where the spread is 1 point) in the electoral college. Turnout. Turnout. Turnout.
  2. Trump: very compromised as President. Listen to his own key staff members! Moron. F'ing idiot. Can't read a briefing paper. I think you believe his was a fine presidency. (I disagree, but who cares) Reagan: holy crap, that man was senile. After his presidency it became apparent that Iran-Contra wasn't his diabolically clever/evil (you pick) plan; he didn't even know what the hell it was. Still, a very successful presidency, and his VP won the next term. Nixon: increasingly paranoid and incoherent, suffering from phlebitis. "Henry, let's kneel down and pray." Scandal, yes, but the republic survived just fine. FDR: in very bad shape by the start of his unprecedented 4th term. Somehow we came out of WWII in pretty good shape ... Wilson: basically dead man lying down by the end of his presidency. I think we did o.k. then too. I think you overrate what we need from a President. Competency means allowing the professionals in your administration and the government to just do their jobs. That's the big problem with Trump. Unlike the others, he is blind to his own decline and insists on inserting himself into everything. Bleach or UV light, anyone?
  3. Yep. And I'll say it again. Markets shaking in their collective boots at the lack of a competent President!
  4. Did you have to tell me he's Jewish ahead of time? Now I have to worry about whether laughing at this will make me feel like a bad person in light of what's happening in Gaza.
  5. Homoerotic. Except for Tulsi without the acne scars. That one's hetero-erotic. For 13 year olds.
  6. Do you always have to be such buzzkills? Let the poor old guy get a little adrenochrome outta that baby. Lord knows he needs it more than the baby does.
  7. At least he didn't hire illegal aliens!
  8. It's a Kinsley Gaffe: when a politician mistakenly utters the truth. I used to like that version of Joe. The one who said he flew into LGA and it looked like a third world airport. The one who was kind of ... Trumpy? Welcome back to the fray, Joe. One final pre-retirement lap around the warning track.
  9. Trump actually said he has no use for internal polling, saying he pays some company half a million dollars and they don't tell him anything worthwhile. (See! I watched it)
  10. That's the way to get out the vote! Keep it coming, Michigan!!
  11. All right, so we have New Rules! - calling politicians garbage = o.k. - calling an island of Americans garbage = o.k. - calling people who support a felon who tried to undo the duly verified results of an election garbage = a bridge too far
  12. Remains to be determined. If Von comes back and helps us win a couple playoff games (dare I say a Super Bowl?) then it's Von. Better signing because signing him was signing a player who could put you over the top. Signing Mario was always dumb because that team was nowhere near ready to compete with the big boys.
  13. I hated that dumbass drug-addled hick when he was playing and I hate him more now.
  14. My only issue is that you phrase this in the future tense. He is already claiming fraud on a regular basis. So expect him (again) to declare victory on election night. And if he actually loses, he'll blame fraud again. And if he wins, he'll say it was an even more glorious win than it appears since he won despite massive fraud. Roy Cohn's rules.
  15. It is, kind of. But it's not like he and his Pay pals (hah!) have been hiding their, umm, predilections. Read and learn.
  16. Hey PFF subscribers! What's Xavier Worthy's run block rating?
  17. No, it's Elon Musk's theory, and he's not a Republican. He's hitched his wagon to a nominal Republican, but he has his own agenda.
  18. These "new right" types learned a valuable lesson from the Clinton Democrats: never let a crisis go to waste. And they're planning to take it one step further: create an economic crisis, then use that as an excuse to gain more power over the economy and politics.
  19. But "moron" was a level above "idiot." Congratulations.
  20. He's still mentally fit to do the job. He backed out of the nomination months ago and still the good old USA keeps ticking. There's something to be said for an old man whose Big Plans days are behind him. Unlike Mr. Big Plans on the other side.
  21. World Series Game 4 out of reach, so I flipped around the various politics shows. Fun watching these career politicians position themselves for 2028. Nikki Haley criticizes Trump for the tone of his campaign events, focusing on women. Translation: if Trump loses, he and JD Vance are out of the way. It's time for a kinder, gentler Republican Party, and guess who's waiting in the wings! Josh Shapiro gently scolds Ol' Joe. If Kamala loses she's out of the way, and if it's because she lost PA, everyone says she should've picked Josh. Guess who's waiting in the wings! We're gonna see a lot of this in the next few weeks.
