  1. Um Not so sure about that. I remember Jimbo trashing the **** out of BUFFALO before coming here. Crying he was drafted by BUFFALO. Now sure he can say what he wants now, but...

So, you see Jim Kelly right now saying he would support the Toronto Bills, if payed enough? I'm not talking about when he was an immature punk kid I'm talking the here and now. I can't see it, but maybe i"m blind. Maybe Andre was joking, but I still can't see Jimbo doing that either.
  2. I am blown away to read that so many "wouldn't fault ex-Bills" if they followed the team to Toronto.

Money be damned, have a little pride and integrity...stand up for the people who have made you a millionaire.

Any ex-Bills player that follows the team to Toronto IF it moves, would be immediately erased from my memory of Buffalo Bills football...they would be dead to me, as would the team.

Kind of funny how many people are spending hard-earned money to go support this guy this weekend...meanwhile he is admitting he would sell-out and spit in the faces of those same people.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

(Hopefully Terry Pegula can prevent this mess, that will undoubtedly happen, if the unforgiving scenario comes to fruition.)

ANY MAN (or woman) WITH ANY SENSE OF PRIDE AND INTEGRITY...DOES NOT SELL-OUT!

That's like saying someone could pay you enough to stop rooting for the Bills, and start rooting for the Patriots...if so, what kind of fan are you? (Not you personally, just fans in general.)

*EDIT: Sorry if this is a little strong...but growing up and becoming a man, I was always reminded to keep my beliefs/morals within view...Andre Reed has failed to do that, in my opinion.

Finally, someone who gets it. I'm with you all the way Bob.
  3. and they all cater to a niche in their markets. Boston writers back Boston. Sal p always loves Phili. The one guy with a mustache loves him some cowboys. Clayton likes Miami and men. And polian likes buffalo and likes to hate buffalo. Cowher likes Indy. So on and so on

Totally understood what you were saying. Just being a wise-ass.
  4. This is what is wrong with this country and many who live in it. Integrity and morals are not instilled in young people or are for sale in adults. I bet the bank Mr Kelly would NEVER, EVER say or do such a thing. As for paying me to root for the Toronto Bills I don't care what you want to pay me, I'm not for sale. If this report is true, F'em.

  5. every year everyone picks someone for something.

With 309 experts we have 3 picking the Bills to surprise and the Steelers to win it all. And 4 picking Buffalo to surprise and Jacksonville to win it all.

And so on and so on. These guys know no more then we do.

Wrong, they know how to get paid quite a bit for their opinions.
  6. I love the fabricated critiques of EJ. They can come from all directions.

    "He's not accurate!"

"He's as accurate as were Kelly and Andrew Luck in their rookie seasons."

"He is too cocky and sure of himself for a rookie! Did you hear him! He said the offense was easy! Too relaxed! Doesn't he take this seriously?" at the same time as "he has that hang-dog look and bad body language! Not enough ego!"

"His mechanics are bad! Mechanics are hard to change!"

"Aaron Rodgers changed his mechanics with good coaching, and now EJ has a QB coach."

"Oh, so NOW you're comparing him to Aaron Rodgers!"

"No, I'm explaining that QBs have altered their mechanics to great success."

"He doesn't have 'IT' / possess magic beans / ARGLE FLARBLE" <--- the last resort of someone who just wants to be right more than they want to evaluate football on its merits.

The one criticism or worry that I think is most warranted is the injury one. Hopefully he can defy the injury-prone label this season. The other things are questions most NFL QBs face, at least those not named Luck or Manning. I'm not saying he will answer all of those questions and is destined for success.

I'm not saying he will answer all of those questions and is destined for success.

I'm not saying he will answer all of those questions and is destined for success.

But there is nothing that will prove any of us right or wrong like time.

Awesome post, EJ could put up numbers like 3,500 yds, 25 tds, 13 ints, with a 63 completion percentage and some would say its alright but.......

  8. I suspect EJ gets 2015 as well, regardless. He'd really have to regress not to. I hope nobody confuses regression with not setting the world on fire every game. He's gonna have clunkers. The key is how he responds and keeping them to a minimum, obviously. I believe he gets his 1,000 attempts.

    GO BILLS!!!

I agree K-9, rarely does a highly picked QB get only two years. Though with new ownership, they may bring in new GM, Coaches, ect. That's the only way EJ gets two years barring regressing badly.
  9. Of course it is my opinion, and it might end up being wrong, just like all the other opinions on this board, including your opinion that it was a great draft. I thought this was a place for discussion.

For what it's worth, I liked this draft, especially adding o-line depth, but I think OBD continues to have a blind spot WRT the QB position. And I probably would not have traded up, even though I think Watkins is going to be a really good player.

You just like everyone absolutely have the right to your own opinion, but you would think you would have been better prepared for this. Whaley has been saying they were set at QB for at least a couple months. Now thinking about it he did backpedal just a bit a week or two ago
  10. Geno Smith arguably showed as much promise as EJ last year (flame away!) and yet the Jets brought in Vick and drafted Boyd.

Geno had one more TD and 12 more INTs, that's not even close. Geno was benched for his horrible play repeatedly, was EJ? Let me answer that for you, NOPE. This post is an epic fail. Funny, I looked through the 6 pages in this thread very few people agree with you. If it was so obvious, you would think most people would agree with ya.
  11. Once again, the point is not to draft someone to compete with EJ (not that there would be anything wrong with that). The point is that--again--there is no viable backup or developmental QB on the roster.

Once again, this is YOUR OPINION. Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean it is fact. Thad is a capable back up as he showed last year. Great draft by Whaley and OBD and you still found a way to complain.
  12. The problem with SJ is that he needs to freelance to get open. He doesn't have tremendous speed but he is cunning and elusive. Fitz, for all his shortcomings, seemed to have developed a rapport with Stevie and knew where he was going even when he wasn't running the play exactly as designed. EJ, being a rookie, never developed that ability. Maybe EJ would never figure SJ out. SJ may do great with the 9ers. I don't think he would have ever been great again with the Bills.

Surrounding a young QB with a group of young WRs who can grow together makes a lot of sense.

I agree with most of what you said. I think EJ had his hands full just being a Rookie QB. He and Stevie would have developed a rapport, but it would have taken a couple more years for that to happen, I think. By then Stevie would be 30, so the trade made sense.
  13. Thanks! He looks stout against the run, good anticipation, gets downhill pretty fast. I love the special teams play half way through that video and I'm sure they will look to have him involved on special teams this year. A bit raw in coverage skills I think it's fair to say, but he doesn't give up on plays even when he looks beat and he chases backs down a couple of times in that video when he has maybe been a little out of position to start with.

I got to be honest, I didn't know who he was, but after seeing this video posted in his draft thread I was pleasantly surprised. He gets through traffic well and tries to blow up the opposition. He tries to really rip the ball from the ball carriers a lot.
  14. I don't know enough about Preston Brown really to comment and I'm not going to pretend I do for the sake of having something to say, but if he can play the run well in there as Mayock suggest then that will do for me. Spikes is going to want a big deal next year I suspect so drafting a potential replacement now makes some sense to me, although I won't lie I was gutted Crichton went the pick before us (whether the FO ever liked him is another matter).

I think they will go RB next, but I'd still like a DE somewhere at least for depth and I missed the last 10 picks last night (it was quarter to 4 in the morning UK time when I went to bed) I presume Walt Aikens is still there? I think they really like him either in the 4th or the 5th.

For your viewing pleasure. He's #2, weird # for a LBer. For some reason the vid skips to 6:24 after about 5 seconds, you'll just have to click back to the beginning.

  15. I like the draft so far. Didn't mind getting rid of Stevie for the pick either. Dude was a fan favorite but was so over rated when it came to what he could do on the field.

I'm a big Stevie fan, and thought he was very good except at the end of games when we needed it most. For awhile he was easily our best WR, but based on the moves this offseason (trading for M. Williams and drafting Sammy Watkins) even I think trading Stevie was the right move.
  16. Elite WR who will be the best pure talent since Andre Reed on this team and finally a TRUE, clear cut, #1 WR who teams must respect day 1. We have 3 outstanding talents working hard right behind him. This year we can field 4 WR's teams will have to account for. Suck it New England!

T.C. Kouandjio Was THE RT I wanted in round 2. For those bitching you really need to do your resarch and this is coming from an OU Fan that watched Eric Striker take him to school in the Bowl game. He is a RT in the NFL and has tons of upside and just needs technique work. Holy crap... our HC is an OL coach....hummmm.... We needed a RIGHT tackle and got 1 of the two top guys in the draft for that. GREAT PICK!

Preson Brown: BPA period. 'But we need a TE' do we? We have 3 on this roster and Whaley says he is happy with all 3. Maybe...just maybe he sees them all offseason, sees their progress and is possibly right? Nah fans and media know more than whaley does. That said Brown has drawn comparisons to some really outstanding LB's in the NFL. Another outstanding pure talent Whaley has added.

I get fans think they know better, they whine, complain etc. But hell we have picked guys Mike Mayock are saying are great picks. Gil Brandt the Godfather of drafting had Kujo as his #2 or #3 top player going into day 2 and fans still complain. But to me I have to ignore it as I know NE, Miami, and the Jets are REALLY complaining because they know how tough it was to play us last year. They know we are going into year 2 when teams with new coaches start getting on track. They know we just added two definite Day 1 starters that are going to be bad ass and make us much better

Bottom line Whaley has done a hell of a job and I am really looking forward to seeing what this Team can do this year!

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but here we go, this post is actually pretty good. Much better than your usual gloom and doom. Now, every post shouldn't be bright sunshine and roses, but hopefully we can see a few more like this. Good job.

Over the last 15 months or so the Bills really have looked like they know what their doing. Good FA pick-ups and great drafting. Have to believe it's because of D. Whaley
