  1. Yes, great post. If the class is great only 1 or 2 sure things. Then you get guys like you have now. No benefit to the Bills in waiting unless you see a chance we finish with 3 or less wins.
  2. Howard and Njoku are similar prospects to me. I would want to measure their desire in person. Right now I would lean Njoku because he has far more burst. Howard is fast but it takes him far longer to get there. I want sudden when I throw the guy the ball at 15 yards.
  3. Howard is not what you normally want in a top ten pick. You don't draft guys with no production top 5 or top ten. There is TE prospect just as good as Howard in this draft. His name is David Njoku. He also has ridiculous upside. Adams? He is elite. But he will be gone before we pick.
  4. I think there is no doubt that Tyrod has been a success as far as doing as much as you can expect from a guy drafted in the 6th round and signed to a cheap FA contract in 2015. The difference is that Buffalo asks far less of Tyrod than the other QB's you mentioned. If Tyrod was carrying the offense Bills would have just picked up the option. As to Dennison, I love the Shanahan system. We shall see how creative Dennison himself is soon enough.
  5. I like Mahomes better than Wentz and Trubisky better than Goff from last year. So, yes, QB's will go quick. You have to find the right guy and then if you believe in him take him.
  6. I just see Tyrod differently than you. If you are satisfied with the QB play (and I am not) then it is easy to come up with reasons not to like the QB's in this draft. One of the themes from the Tyrod people is that Tyrod will be unleashed under Dennison.
  7. Tyrod is responsible for all the points on the board? So Rex's defense if you just take points was middle of the pack. In no universe should Tyrod be mentioned with QB's like Carr and Roethlisberger.
  8. You could also say that many of those who don't want to draft a QB this year are extreme Tyrod believers. You draft WR's and 2nd TE's at 10 yet Corey Davis and OJ Howard are not even close to elite prospects. They are just guys that can also be had year after year. And for the record Mahomes and Trubisky's upside is far higher than a QB that has to be protected from throwing the football.
  9. So under this format an agent could be sitting at a table with a rep from the Browns. The agent could say how much do you think Tyrod could be worth if released? Browns could say I would assume someone would pay him 12 million and they would be fine. Plausible deniability easy to do, even for the non-lawyers.
  10. 1.Mahomes 2.Trubisky 3.Trade Down 4.Trade Down 5.Trade Down if we're not getting a QB the talent is the same at 20 as at 10. Jarrad Davis just as good if not better than Reuben Foster David Njoku just as good if not better than OJ Howard. Etc
  11. I would not pass on a Derek Carr because 2015 was supposed to be a better draft class than 2014. Also, this year is not 2013 and next year won't be 2004.
  12. For the true Tyrod fans, Tyrod never took a paycut.
  13. People have moved on from Jordan Mills as well. He is a turnstile. Oh wait, they brought him back so I am supposed to pretend he is good.
  14. So we heard "no sure thing" in 2014 as well. "The 2014 quarterback class doesn't have a sure bet at the position, but features a pair of intriguing franchise quarterback possibilities in Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel. While Bridgewater is the classic pocket passer capable of fitting into any system, Manziel is a budding star capable of changing the game with his spectacular improvisational skills. Blake Bortles is the wild card of the group with a set of physical tools that could make him an elite player in time." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000313170/article/top-5-2014-nfl-draft-prospects-by-position-quarterbacks Why do you want a sure thing QB class? How would that help us? We draft 10th, not 1st or 2nd.
  15. Green Bay with Mixon... Wow. They would roll people.
  16. It's just how it is. There will always be people still cheering for the mediocre, can't get it done QB long after it became apparent they were not the answer. You can keep your Tyrod poster on your wall if you wish, much of the fan base has moved on.
  17. Published on Apr 11, 2017 Kelly, a quarterback prospect for the 2017 NFL Draft, has off-field and injury concerns but has excellent talent. Matt Waldman and Sigmund Bloom examine Kelly in this RSP Film Room episode.
  18. The only people who didn't know that Glenn could play tackle were people that didn't go to the Senior Bowl or read the reports from it. Cordy Glenn played left tackle at the Senior Bowl and dominated the best D linemen in the country. Nix didn't fool anyone.
  19. Well, you know I won't be complaining if we get Mahomes. You get the right QB and suddenly things get a lot easier.
  20. It was said that spread QB's can't play in the NFL a few years ago. That still exists but is going away now as NFL teams are slowly realizing that they will have to adjust. Mahomes had a 4.0 GPA, he will learn the terminology. Goff's struggles were based on an NFL team using him incorrectly. Cowboys created a simplified offense for Dak last year. When they tried to expand playbook to full Tony Romo offense he struggled against the Eagles. Then they went back to the simple offense and Dak moved down the field with ease. All of the college QB's will need to adjust to the NFL. It will take a smart plan and offensive coordinator to bring these prospects along correctly.
  21. I think that theory was always flawed. Billionaires are not going to go out of their way traveling around the country trying to trick another team into giving us a 3rd round pick.
  22. Marcell's job will be what it should be now. Go push the pocket and make life hell on the QB. No more playing paddy cake with two guys and gap control.
  23. Sorry to hear that.
  24. It's sad but true. Most of these scouts are dinosaurs and are basing their ideas on a time when the QB was under center and every team had a fullback. Derek Carr was dropped because he ran a gimmicky spread offense that didn't face tough competition and scouts refused to scout the traits. Mahomes will drop for similar reasons when he should be the consensus #1 pick on the board.
