  1. We are not lowballing him. Hopefully something can still be done before the season starts.
  2. Vic Carucci ‏@viccarucci 1m1 minute ago The #Bills have offered Marcell Dareus more than $90 million in a deal that would add 6 yrs to 1 yr he has, according to #NFL source.
  3. Tyrod. But EJ is close behind and I want to see EJ up next if Tyrod gets injured. Cassel should be kept as insurance only.
  4. I think the encouraging thing is that even EJ detractors can't say he is far away from TT or Cassel. EJ has not been good enough in practices but one more good game from EJ should earn him a job on the team.
  5. The pissing in the sink thing is a sad reality. I do like that Buffalo has a sh&^ reputation. Let all the hipsters and yuppies sit in traffic for hours a day in their "cool" city. I like not having to wait in line and the no BS atmosphere in Buffalo. I also like the snow for keeping the weak away as well. Funniest line was the picture of Rex and the, "Your coach: HOW THE F*&^ YOU DOIN’, BOYS?!!!" Of course we are going to eat this up, the bar has been set very low for the last 15 years.
  6. The EJ Manuel story in Buffalo looks like it is coming to an end. BUT...the lack of anyone that can play QB in front of EJ leads me to think he makes the team. If things go south for Taylor or Cassel then EJ could very well end up playing this year. I hope he realizes that and keeps pushing. He should look dominant against the Browns. Let's see what he has. So far in the scrimmage and the Panthers game there wasn't much to criticize EJ for. His problem has been his incredible inconsistency in the practices where he often goes 3-4 practices in a row with duds.
  7. I see EJ Manuel as the next Mark Sanchez if we cut him. Is he great? No. But he is good enough and can still improve enough that there is no point in cutting him. I understand the frustration people have with EJ. He looked incredibly forced and robotic when he played last year. At this point, I think it is obvious that he does not have "it". That it is what is needed to be a top ten QB. I would rather keep EJ though then Simms.
  8. If we had a franchise QB I would be more willing to roll with 2 QB's and a PS player. Based on the fact that we don't have that sure thing, there is no reason not to keep 3. We can cut an extra running back or WR or TE. We should keep all three.
  9. I am so glad that we don't have Polian's son making picks for the Bills. Thank God Whaley is still here. This guy has stacked talent across the roster and now we are seeing that the poor coaching on the offensive side of the ball was making players look terrible.
  10. People are acting like this is Roman's first rodeo. Every move made to stop the easy runs opens up something else. In fact, I almost think the Bills want teams to plan for a Vick style QB opening day. Watch TT, if he gets the job, throw 5 straight times to start the game.
  11. The Bills might have "over-drafted" EJ but this is hindsight. Based on what other teams liked him (such as Chip Kelly and the Eagles) EJ would have been at worst a late 1st, early 2nd. If the Bills had taken him with the first pick of the second round and he had never seen the field (which is what the plan should have been) there would be no argument. Regardless, I agreed with the Bills taking EJ. We need to keep drafting QB's. Unfortunately there is no patience for drafting and developing anyone in Buffalo despite the fact that we NEED to do this. We are not getting a top 3 pick anytime soon. Here's to EJ and the next development QB that will feel the wrath of Buffalo for not being Andrew Luck. I hate to say this but Tannehill would never have made it here either.
  12. You think Doug Marrone gave him a good chance to succeed. I don't. Let's see what he can do next few pre-season games and how he closes out camp.
  13. Everyone was screaming for a developmental QB. He's here his name is EJ Manuel. Highest upside of his draft and no pro coaching until 3 months ago.
  14. The people complaining about character are the same ones who ran Marshawn Lynch out of town. Thanks moral brigade!
  15. I want to keep EJ as our third QB. EJ was a project when we drafted him with high upside. We were told it would take 2-3 years. What we didn't know is that those 2 years he has had EJ did not get real NFL coaching. Poor offensive line play, poor playcalling, no veteran QB presence. EJ is probably already a decent backup. Why cut him now when he can be young backup with upside? Let's see what he does the next 2 games. If he struggles or plays poorly then I will be open to cutting him. But if he plays well like he did in the last game he should stay.
  16. We'll find out soon enough. Every QB has their weaknesses and I am sure that TT has taken off at times when he could have stayed in the pocket. But your assessment is so certain that this is the default. If TT was really just running too early all the time in camp he would be fighting for the 3rd spot on the roster. But right now the coaches seem to have him neck and neck with Cassel with a chance to start.
  17. Erik Pears. Yeah, I finally just remembered his name. I was trying to block that out of my mind but then I was wondering who Miller was replacing from last year.
  18. Nobody knows at this point. But you keep asserting Taylor is a "run-first" quarterback. If the offensive coordinator calls a bootleg with an option to pass, that's what he has to do. If he is in the pocket and a DE comes straight at him, he better run out of there and do something else. In fact, that very play happened. A Carolina DE got a free run at Taylor for a sack on almost any other QB, Taylor spun free ran towards the sideline and THREW the ball to Williams for a first down. There is no large body of work to evaluate here. But according to the coaching staff and people attending the practices Taylor has been making good throws. I do want to see him throw some more passes Thursday night so we'll have even more film soon enough.
  19. I wouldn't try to extrapolate like that. 5 quick runs out of bounds that get 10 yards each is fine. As for Tyrod getting hurt, he doesn't do stupid things and avoids contact. He also avoids being a target in the pocket so he won't take as many vicious shots there. I agree that QB's that run get injured more but I don't think the risk is as extreme as you make it.
  20. So does IK have to beat out Randall Johnson (a similar player) to make the roster? Or can the Bills keep both? It's hard to know with the mixed fronts we use how many players will be kept at each position.
  21. I completely disagree with this. Rex Ryan has a gambling personality and wants upside.
  22. All any of our QB's have to do is hit Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin, Robert Woods, and Goodwin in stride and let them get YAC. See the 28 yard pass play to Goodwin where Taylor hit Goodwin for 10 yards and let Goodwin do the rest.
  23. Real offensive line coach, real offensive coordinator. Switching to a scheme based on using their superior size. Another year for Cyril Richardson, he looked way better than last year where he couldn't stop pass-rush. Kromer, as long as he doesn't beat people up, is a keeper. Really excited for Miller. No one talked about this guy pre-draft but he looks like a player.
  24. I think cutting EJ would be really stupid at this point. He has never had real NFL coaching until this year and could already be one of the better backups in the league. I think the next two pre-season games are make or break for EJ. He needs to step up and not give the Bills coaches a choice but to keep him.
  25. Tyrod Taylor I believe has the inside track to win the starting job. For those who say he just ran, watch the game. There are of course designed bootlegs called for Taylor where he can throw to a place and keep running if that is not there. Taylor is playing the Kaepernick in this Roman offense. The fact that Taylor made the correct read on the called bootlegs doesn’t make him a run first QB. I think with a defense and running game that the Bills already possess, Taylor is the best fit. He can keep the chains moving on 3rd and 4th down situations. Did you see the beautiful deep pass that should have been a TD that Goodwin dropped? Having a QB with his speed also helps the running game. Teams have to play you honest. My only worry is getting Sammy Watkins enough passes with Taylor. Hopefully we can see their chemistry in the Thursday game.
