  1. Let's rundown the offense's progression over the last 2 seasons under this regime. This is where the coaching staff has been a complete joke:

1). Our WR's last year were terrible. 13 had his worst season. We essentially fire the WR coach. We bring in Big Mike to help.....now he sucks and is inactive. Woods is showing no signs of improvement. And Roscoe Goodwin has done nothing.

2.) The oline is a disaster. So Marrackett's plan was to draft big guys. Kwanjo is currently a bust. Cyril is a work (long work) in progress. Henderson has gotten worse as the season goes on. Urbik is no longer decent/good. We moved Pears to Guard and it's been a debacle. The guy they signed to start at LG who was always average at best, is out.

3.) Spiller. Completely lost. Why did we trade for Bryce Brown exactly.

4.) Our 1st pick of the 2013 has now lost his job 4 games in. Both his backups were cut in August. And our current starter (who I believe will be fine) was at home all summer.

5.) To address TE bc Chandler can't block and he's limited as a mediocre threat....we bring in Mr.Glass Tony Moeki. He stuck around long enough for a cup of coffee.

  2. Number 1 rush D in the league.

Not sure number but we're still top 5 in sacks.

Find 3 better guys on any AFC teams secondary better than Gilmore Aaron Williams and Corey Graham. Roby and McKelvin not too shabby either.

Brad-ham is a monster. Rivers is ok. Spikes is a top 10 MLB vs the run. And Preston Brown has been good.

    The D line is a top 5 D line.

Don't even include the defense in your analysis of the supposed weak talent on the roster. We're fine on D. Of the top 6 in the AFC, who's D is better? The Broncos?

The offense---led by Marrackett is a disaster. I believe it's issues are 70 percent coaching. Maybe more....

  3. This can't be overstated enough. The offense was designed for EJ. Not Kyle Orton.

Meaning...they implemented a conservative approach/game plan. Dumbed everything down for "slow eyes." Think all the calls to throw to the RB or TE in the flat. And an emphasis on run run and run for 2 yards again and again. It's fine if you can run the ball with success but we cant. And Hackett is not adjusting.

There are rarely any 4 wide sets. For 2 reasons. EJ. And the oline was not trusted. No time to throw unless we max protect or are able to go play action.

If Hackett is worth anything he will recognize that Orton has to be able to pass to set up the run. Not the other way around.

Constantly being in 3rd and 8 after 2 failed runs or holding calls is killing us. Dlines are just teeing off. And we have NO screen game which that alone should be a fireable offense with these weapons.

Being successful through the air early can back teams off. More 3 or 4 wide sets can lead to more nickel coverage and better opportunities for Spiller.

This can be done but our OC needs to get his head out of his rear.

  4. You can't get the best hire with no first round pick. No one will take this job if we finish say 6-10 or 7-9. If we wanted to clean house.

Marrone should be back along with Whaley in an attempt to salvage a potential mess (I still have hope we win division but have a feeling we'll be 9-6 going into NE week 17 in a winner takes it game...and...well...)..

But Marrone must fire Hackett and Morris. Own up to your failures like Garrett did in Dallas. Get an OC that has a clue and turn the Oline over to him and his guy.

  5.

Also shows that maybe MW is inflating his own value with his "I'm a number 1 receiver talk" (which obviously is expected)...

Yea probably not a 3rd. But Seattle is desperate for a big WR. That team will not be the same next year---lots of guys up for new deals.

They badly want to repeat. I don't think getting a 4th for him from them is out of the question. Now at that point tho I'm not sure it's worth it. But maybe. Lots of good players can be had in the 4th round.

  6. This whole situation feels like Flutie again. Almost exact same circumstances.

Everyone laughed at the Flutie signing. But all the guy did, despite his flaws, was win.

Then he went on to San Diego and did some nice things there---and 4 years later they end up with Rivers.

Stop worrying about getting Andrew Luck or whoever your ideal "franchise" QB is. There are plenty of examples of teams winning--and winning a lot---without a hall of fame QB.

So here's to however freaking long Orton can lead this team. I don't care if it's the next 2 or 3 years. Just win.

  7. Here's the problem---I only read the article and not the comments so if it was mentioned. ...oh well. ..I'll say it again....but this is where in football the numbers cannot tell the whole story.

I think EJ's % and rating are inflated due to countless designed throws to CJ and Fred. Who also helped his yardage by turning those into 10-20 yd gains.

The disturbing eye test with EJ is his refusal and inability to throw the ball down field with any consistency or accuracy..

Now maybe (likely) his struggles are bc he was thrown in too soon. It doesn't matter bc the right move is being made now. Ideally, this should be his year 2 behind a competent starter. I'm hopeful over time EJ can get it....we'll see.

  8. Every Bills beat reporter has been directly or indirectly calling EJ a bum and that he needs to be benched. Which is fine I think most agree.

So now you're going to see them look to justify their "brilliance" by getting players to support their analysis blah blah blah.

Rodak is a troll and an embarrassment if you ask me. I unfollowed him on Twitter after he tweeted that childish nonsense about it "rubbing him the wrong way" when he walked in to the locker room and saw Chandler playing video games the Monday after the Charger game.

    Joke.

  9. Dirty little secret about our offensive woes....yes EJ is awful right now but

We are too young at WR and Big Mike the 'vet' is new and almost completely irrelevant.

Add that to a useless TE as a blocker..

Woods has shown signs of being a mini Dez. The body language. He's already had his doghouse moment in preseason.

And....add to this 2 rookies on the oline. And a converted journeymen RT over to Guard.

Maybe we shouldn't be surprised at the struggles.

Yes a lot of this is on EJ...but it's 65 percent on Marrone/Hackett/Whaley for failing to get these guys on the same page. I still refuse to lay whole blame on EJ simply bc he never should have been drafted where he was. If the powers that be think he's the guy and here he is failing, that's an indictment on them. Whaley, Marrone especially.

  10. The Seynour trade hurt the Pats on the field no doubt but:

Harrison was an upgrade over Milloy

Edelman has picked up where Welker left off

Revis is an upgrade over Talib.

Also, the Pats rush defense, which is #1 in the NFL after 3 games, seems to have adequately replaced Spikes .... and his liabilities in the passing game.

    Meh..

    Moreno shredded them..

They played the Vikes minus AP.

Then they played the corpse of Darren McFadden.

The Patriots are a complete mystery to me right now.
