  1. I never want to see injuries. And Bass has made a couple of great kicks for this team in the past. But man.....I don't need to see Bass kick for us again. Prater is not the long term answer, obviously. But what he is is a true professional. There's a reason he's over 40 and still kicking. He may not kick it as far as he used to. But I tell you what. When we signed him, I took a breath, and I never had a worry about him. I was confident that if we were able to keep his attempts under 45, they were going to go through. Maybe he can kick for us the rest of the season if contract situations allow it and then just find a different kicker next season.
  2. The first page of the final chapter was just written..... OFFENSE: Allen Coleman (2nd half) Palmer (4th quarter) Cook Hawes (I mean come on.....the dude was blocking guys all night and then makes one of the biggest plays of the game on a catch he juggled like 3 times) Prater (obviously.....what a pro. I don't need to see Bass kick for this team again. Prater is not the long term answer, but it was nice to not be extremely nervous for every kick tonight.) DEFENSE: Oliver Strong (For being a rookie under the brightest of lights, he didn't get mentioned much. Yes, WRs were running open at times, but I am not sure how many of those were on him until I watch the All 22. I reserve the right to remove him if the tape tells a different story. HA!) Bosa (Had a few good pressures, got fooled a couple times, but I think his presence really helped Oliver out tonight. OTHERS Harbaugh for punting the ball on their last possession instead of trying to win the game on 4th and 3. JOCK STRAPS McDermott and Babich (months to put together a game plan to at least slow Henry down but instead, barely touched him the entire game except for the great play by Big Ed at the end.) Whoever forgot to block Hamilton on the game winning FG. That was a fingertip away from being a complete disaster. Look....this was a wild game. Maybe the wildest regular season game ever? It's up there. There is a lot to learn and take out of this game and it's much better to take the lessons from a win than a loss. The defense was terrible outside of a couple of players and plays. The offense until sometime in the 2nd half was way too conservative as usual. I'm hoping if nothing else comes out of this game on offense, it shows Brady that we are at our best slinging the ball down the field and not the dinking and dunking he's been doing recently.......really since the Lions game last season. Allen wants to sling it. The WRs are more suited to make plays down the field. Are weapons just aren't fast enough or shifty enough to create separation off the line. But, what they can do is use their size to their advantage and when you give them some space, they can make plays. I'm not talking 40+ yards down the field, just in that intermediate 20-30 yard range. Allen is the best player in the world and when you reign him in and force him to throw east and west with unathletic and slower weapons, you are basically neutering him. Let Josh be Josh. Trust him to make the right plays down the field and then take off running if it's not there. I am not going to get started on the defense and McDermott. It would be a 5 page post. Obviously they have to be a lot better. Anyway, I don't want to bring the high down. It feels nice to be on the right side of one of these all-time great games for a change. Clean this stuff up and get better.
  3. Thank you for getting tripped up
  4. If that's the best 2 point play we have, we need to head back to the drawing board. Now, here comes the pain when they just bust one.....
  5. It's 1 foot...... tush push it twice if you need to.
  6. They had 2 spies on Allen on that 4th down....
  7. You just have to laugh sometimes.....
  8. First big play I have seen Johnson not come up with when needed.
  9. How about showing some urgency here? Why are we not racing to the line?
  10. We are a 3-4 win team if not for Josh Allen. Just wasting his talents.
  11. You know.....I just got to thinking about it. If one of these years, we just dedicate an entire draft, I'm talking like almost every pick, on defense, that would probably solve the problem.
  12. McDermott is a complete embarrassment. Had MONTHS to put together a game plan to stop Henry and not only can't he stop him, he never even seems to get a hand on him.
  13. I miss the days where we could line up and just run a simple low slant on those short yardage situations. Everything is such a big production now.
  14. Anyone struggling to figure out why Allen was the MVP last season just needs to watch this game. He's literally all we have (I mean Cook is good, but everyone else is pretty average at best). We have no WRs and a defense that has forced 1 stop all night (going back to our last game in the AFC Championship....how many stops did we get there?). Meanwhile, Jackson sits back there, WRs running wide open, WRs making circus catches on their only target of the night, and a running game averaging double digits per carry. The fact that we have even been close on the scoreboard at all in this game is miraculous. Nobody does more with less than Josh Allen.
  15. Yup....the difference is glaring. They don't have a singe weak position group. Meanwhile, we have Josh Allen, James Cook, a good offensive line, and that's about it..........
  16. Meanwhile, Ravens WRs running WIDE OPEN. I'm not one to say Jackson is overrated. I like Jackson. But man, it must be nice to have guys that make throwing the ball that easy.
  17. They get the rules official on to explain the penalty. Fine. But why no follow-up question as to why there is no illegal contact in the back of the endzone to force him out in the first place?
  18. No tush push is unacceptable there........
  19. I watch so much football. I watch a ton of All 22 tape on football. I am not sure I have ever seen a team try to blitz a guy like 25-30 yards away from the line of scrimmage. That's certainly a choice.....
  20. This defense, the defensive coordinator, and defensive head coach absolutely blow......
  21. It's so frustrating to have to watch Allen pick up his entire team every single year and just carry them to the finish line. Yes, it's only game 1, but once again, it's the same thing. Nobody can get open within the design of the play and Allen has to buy time, get outside, and make something happen outside of structure. The last time he had any type of help on a regular basis was when Brown and Beasely were here in their primes. Please, Beane, for the love of God, get this man some real NFL WRs. And while you're at it, get a massive human that can actually anchor inside instead of guys that fly upfield and taken out or washed out of every run play.
  22. It's amazing what happens when you let Josh be Josh.....
