2 nd rd???

Steve Wills definitely blitzes more. Last year was just a post SB hangover year with Cam playing hurt. They are starting to figure it out and hit their stride with all facets of the Veteran team contributing. The NFC South is a quality division which causes them all to stay decent. I’m betting it takes 11 wins to take the South.

Why Do You Cheer If You See No Hope
Buffalo Boy replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a rebuild and there remains hope in the next few years providing they draft well. Also, getting a chance to see the young guys get a chance is interesting. Aknowledging that we are not a playoff team doesn’t make you less of a fan or less interested. -
If Tyrod's the Starter, Then Why....?

Hmmm? Almost sounds like football 101? -
Agreed. Still, what is the over/ under on” We still have a shot at the playoff threads.” Between now a statistical elimination?

To my eye, Chargers, Colts and Miami at home are the winnable games. If they lose this week, especially in convincing fashion like the last two weeks, stick a fork in them. It’s all over but the shouting.

Don’t use “ Garbage time” excuse!
Buffalo Boy replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Instead of continuing to be a douche by using irony in a sentence I’ll try to explain this simply. QB 1 and QB 2 are facing roughly the same coverage and defensive effort in the last quarter of the game. QB 1 sucks. QB 2 looks good. A fair supposition would be that QB 2 is better than QB 1. The point of the thread is Peterman has QB skills and TT doesn’t therefore Peterman should play. If that’s an agenda, it’s my kind of agenda. -

im·ply imˈplī/ verb strongly suggest the truth or existence of (something not expressly stated). "the salesmen who uses jargon to imply his superior knowledge" synonyms: insinuate, suggest, hint (at), intimate, say Hey Kiddies, Let’s use our new word in a sentence: Jauronimo implied Peterman couldn’t be judged due to lack of strong coverage from the DBs.... just like TT had been facing.... and failing against miserably. ? -
Give Peterman the start vs. the Chargers - and -
Buffalo Boy replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not willing but determined to. That is two steps ahead of TT. I almost posted about the team quoting on him yesterday. I think it is a definite possibility. These guys know what a QB should do and at a certain point human nature kicks in and you say “WTF , why even try when the ball isnt gonna come out.” These last two games have been as bad as we’ve seen from Jerkron or Greggo. -

They were playing press man coverage against TT??? Most of the fourth quarter was “ garbage time” . TT couldn’t get a first freaking down. The announcers on my feed were imploring him to get the ball out repeatedly. -

Controlling the time of possession by long, methodical drives DOES help that. Other than “ Saviour Peterman , I don’t think anyone is calling him the second coming of( insert your favorite QB) Before the season started, myself and a bunch of other predicted TT’s failings. Peterman should be developed as a backup, I said. If by some miracle he is the guy... BONUS!!! But, I’m right back to: “ We aren’t going to the playoffs, let’s tank, get guys experience and get a better draft pick for next year. And before someone hits me with the “ We still have a chance BS, No! No we don’t and if by fluke of flukes we got in, woopee freaking doo. We will be knocked right back out. I want more than that and TT doesn’t offer more. -

Throw to EZ wasn’t underneath. It also wasn’t a throw TT usually attempts... certainly not coming out that quickly. -
Every Nate Peterman throw from the Saints game

Which is why you play him and see. What is the worst thing that happens? 47-3 for 56 yards? -

His second drive was the TD. His first drive ended with a K. Benj drop for a first down followed by a low snap he handled and got a perfect pitch out to RB . Should have bootlegged left. People forget the kid can run, not TT Run , but he’s not a statue. -

Peterman reacts differently to pressure. TT hates to move laterally while keeping his eyes down field. He turns his back and does a counter clockwise turn to the right and then has to reaquire the view downfield. He already can’t see downfield well so this doesn’t work sometimes. Open receivers getting missed or the ball being thrown late, too close to the line or out. Peterman gets it out or takes a sack. With some coaching/ reps it is not hard to imagine him cutting down on the sacks with the use of an outlet receiver/ back -

Also, Shady is going to have better chances if the ball is coming out that quick. Then, suddenly the play action starts working. It’s almost like rocket science but it really isn’t. It is just competent QB play causing and offense to function? -

Simply not true. TT clearly managed to not hit KB for a TD on the first drive and a first down on the very next pass. You can’t take that away from him. ??? -

“Is” is present tense. Which poster on this board knows the future? Two weeks ago(in some thread somewhere)I said I was starting to grudgingly come around but needed two more weeks before I was fully committed. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one on the “ slow down fast car” bandwagon. Having said that, my bold prediction is Peterman will definitely start at least one game this year. This will be due to the continued bad play of TT coupled with our exiting the playoff race. My main concern at that point is that we don’t see a repeat of the complete lack of effort like last years final. -

Saw that too. A week or two before, my son and I found a couple more like that. He doesn’t see the field. This isn’t just a “real time” ability. A QB needs to be able to visualize the whole field before it happens with an understanding of where the coverage is going before it happens,as well as, adjusting as it does happen. On the O’Leary TD, Peterman understood the timing of the play and allowed it to develop. Not a broken play( Holmes TD/ Oakland) . Ahead of ourselves like a 47-3 shellacking? -

While I don’t fully agree, your point has some merit. Agree to disagree. He’s not a QB. Today was yet another reminder of this fact. Eyes closing. Goodnight Gentlemen ?
