I think Crowe is probably an ass in real life but there are very few actors out there that throw themselves in the role like he does. Denzel Washington, for example, is a good actor, but he pretty much is Denzel in each movie. RZ is usually annoying but I liked her performance in Cold Mountain.

I am good friends with someone who is involved with trying to keep the base open at high levels in Washington. Unfortunately, he thinks the chances are about 15% (based on past efforts by others in similar situations) to keep the base open. He's working hard on trying to convince BRAC however, but he admits it may be a losing cause. He says it was a miracle they got off of the list back in 1996. Personally, I think that maybe it's right move to close this base and believe that the way BRAC works is beneficial to this country. Still, I feel for those adversely affected by the decision and all things being equal I rather see a base remain there.

My girlfriend likes this show more than I do, interestingly enough.

I would not get any satisfaction from Price retiring early. He did nothing bad to the Bills. Whether he was/is a great receiver or not in Atlanta, it was the right move to let him go.

The issue here is that while each individual act was a crime in its own right, the overall organization and coordination of such activity in order to achieve a specific goal was not punishable. There is a difference between each act being prosecuted as individual acts and prosecuting the entire planning and coordinated execution of the plan as one larger crime. I therefore see value in it being prosecuted as it is.

In the thread already asking people why they left the area, it almost seemed like there was little reason to stay in the area. Apparently there still are people living in Buffalo and Rochester and the surrounding area, since I see cars on the road on the way to Canada. So.. 1. Why are you still here? 2. How are you making your living? 3. Do you plan on leaving? 4. Is the area fixable? 5. Should I worry about this rash?

Funny, Bledsoe did little complaining when I benched him. Instead Izzell Reese was the most unhappy about playing time and kept going to the papers about it. Front-page news every week was another B word session from Reese. What a pain in the ass.

I do not whether Kelly would do well as a mayor or whatever or that he deserves to be in the running for high office, but I do not buy your logic. We should not cede political office to just the greedy and the corrupt. One change might not make much a difference but it would be a start.

You do not need a genius to run things in Buffalo/Erie County. You just need someone with common sense.
