Anyone else find this somewhat disturbing?
buckeyemike replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Damn...don't make me spit out my coffee like that. -
Waterboarding Nancy Grace? I'm all for it.

My brother's taking his family to Chicago this weekend. They're visiting a couple of museums and catching the Indians and Cubs at Wrigley Field. I'll have to ask him how it is for a game (he's taken the Wrigley tour twice, but never seen a game there).

What the hell happened to Hardee's shakes??????
buckeyemike replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
And they have the best chicken sandwiches out there. -
Good call. I'm not sure it's ever been renovated.

There are only a handful of them left, in the pros. Wrigley Field and Fenway Park are the only two I can think of in baseball. In football, you have Lambeau Field and that's about it. None really in basketball and hockey. In college football, you have older stadiums, but most of them have been heavily renovated. Ohio Stadium underwent a huge renovation about a decade ago. Michigan is redoing their stadium. Notre Dame added seats, but kept the character of the old place. Technology seems to have become paramount, especially at the new places. For example, I look at Notre Dame Stadium and Wrigley Field, and realize that those two stadiums are the only ones left without massive video boards/Jumbotrons. It's deliberate at Notre Dame (someone said it would be like putting a huge TV in the middle of the Sistine Chapel), and I don't know if they have room for one at Wrigley. Any thoughts about the older stadiums? Did I miss anything?

It doesn't mean I have to jump her bones. If she's underage, I'd get arrested. Oh, and my wife would kill me...and the courts would rule it as justifiable homicide.

What the hell happened to Hardee's shakes??????
buckeyemike replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Sonic has just moved into the Cleveland area. Chick-Fil-A moved in a few years ago. As far as Sonic is concerned, their shakes and burgers are mediocre. The lime slush drinks and the onion rings, however, are out of this world. There are a couple of Hardee's left; the nearest one to me is in Eastlake, just down the street from the nearest Waffle House. -
The same thing happened last year in Pittsburgh. The Pens fans applauded the Wings, but when Bettman came out, the crowd booed him relentlessly.

Another unbelievable ending!!! Pens win the Cup!!

My dear wife just sent me an e-mail
buckeyemike replied to stuckincincy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You are. My in-laws threw a party for my birthday, and I asked for (and got) some KFC. The grilled is very good, better than I thought it would be, but I'm an original recipe man myself. -
Chastity Bono To Be Chaz Bono - After Sex Change!
buckeyemike replied to Steely Dan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
 BTW, Chaz/Chastity turned 40 on March 4, according to the Wikipedia entry. -
With public employees, you're going to be seeing a LOT more of this in the next few years. I think that the dam's just starting to break. The guarantee of having fat pensions and free health care in their later years (which is really the main reason why most people in government work there instead of in private industry) just isn't realistic anymore. In other words, we can't afford it.

The FCC's been warning us since 2000 about this. Originally, the change date was in 2005, then 2006, then 2007, then 2008, then 2/17/09, and finally today. If you're not changed over, guess whose fault it is? For once, it ain't the government.

Chastity Bono To Be Chaz Bono - After Sex Change!

Chaz/Chastity is around 40. I used to think she was cute when I was 13. -
You know what I was thinking when I heard that story? I hate to say it, but Final Destination. Freaky.

Made it to another milestone without getting banned!!

Not a bad choice...for him. I'm sure Monica would feel the same way about Tom if he were a junior high school science teacher making $45,000 a year.

Letterman: What happened to him?

A freudian slip, apparently. -
Letterman: What happened to him?
buckeyemike replied to Talonz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Remember 25 years ago when David Letterman was called "irreverent"? Now he's 62, and with age, irreverence turns into crankiness. What Letterman is guilty of here is jokes made in bad taste, which I always thought he tried to sidestep. Guess it goes along with his being cranky. Political humor has never been his strong suit. Go back to the "Late Night" years, and you see that David Letterman has always been best when he's doing observational humor. -
Introducing the latest "American Patriot"
buckeyemike replied to Bad Lieutenant's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sorry if I came off as angry there, but I get really upset about that entire theory. Don't the deniers know that the Germans' own records from the war show the Holocaust occurred? I was a history major in college, and since I am a lawyer, I demand evidence. The evidence of thousands of documents and thousands of people who were there show, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the Holocaust took place. The denial theory is anti-Semitism, that's all it is. BTW, I'm not used to getting praised by those who lean left on this board. It's new to me. -
Karl Rove, how do you feel about Maureen Dowd?
buckeyemike replied to Fingon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Maureen Dowd is still bitter that Michael Douglas left her for Catherine Zeta-Jones. And that was 15 years ago! -
Yeah, like this 88 year old racist fool is Limbaugh's target demographic. He's a dumbass...a murderous dumbass, but still, a dumbass. When will people on the left AND the right figure out that when bad things like this happen neither side of the political spectrum is to blame? Back in 1998 when Matthew Sheppard was killed in Wyoming, people on the left were blaming Rush and James Dobson, among others, for creating the atmosphere that led to a gay college student's murder. Yeah, like the two Laramie townies who killed Sheppard (both of whom had EXTENSIVE criminal histories) were part of Dobson's core audience. It's a foolish argument. Pointing fingers and saying ________ is to blame only clouds the sad event that occurred.

Introducing the latest "American Patriot"
buckeyemike replied to Bad Lieutenant's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
A Holocaust denier. Stop right there. I don't need to read any more. Where the hell do these idiots get the idea that the Holocaust never occurred??? That our own soldiers didn't liberate thousands of Jews and others from Auschwitz, Treblinka, Bergen-Bergen and other death camps? That this is a conspiracy that an entire religion has lied about and had the help of tens of thousands of military personnel, politicians, journalists, and other people in perpetuating a fraud upon the world? The Holocaust HAPPENED. And things like that have happened many times over history...and sadly, continue to happen today in places like Somalia. Stalin killed 22 million of his own people, Mao probably more than that, for heaven's sake. And many of these inbred hateful f---head morons think that our government is going to put good white Christians into concentration camps. That's a theory they have which goes back to at least the first President Bush, if not before. I don't need to read the ramblings of an 88 year old racist who's crying about America having a black President and how the Jewish media controls each and every one of us. Go to hell, you old fool. -
Adam Lambert finally admits that he is gay
buckeyemike replied to ACor58's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Of course not. Elvis will always be the King. Adam Lambert is a wannabe, and that's all he'll ever be.
