There is zero argument with the talent factor, the issue comes in 4 years when Glenn's contract comes up then a year or two later when Mathews does. Both with will want LT money and odds are one will be gone. Sure we are solid for say 5 years, but then what? I would like to finally have a line together for say 7-10 years esp. at Center and both tackles.

Jimbo ready to bid on the Bills
Kellyto83TD replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Jim needs to just work on trying to get better. Unless he has massive investors with 1.5 billion or so to contribute and allow him to be majority owner (not sure how with a net wealth of just 19 mill) I just can't see how he can be serious about buying. -
That is what I would love to see in Buffalo. Never liked the CJ pick esp at #9. I wouldnt' gripe if we took a really good RB that could maybe carry the rock 20+ x per game. Get a road grader at RT along with LB and TE in this draft and we might be on track. I will never gripe at a pound the ball approach. Many want 'exciting offense'. I find making the playoffs exciting and would really find winning a superbowl very exciting Nope I meant down. We have seen guys drop before and we have at least 3 teams ahead of us or so that need QB's. If we trade down and miss him then we do I can live with that. Id love to have 2 2nd rounders this year as deep as the draft is

I have stated several times that Pro football dictates no first round RT's and for most all of NFL History it has been that way. But it seems things are changing somewhat. My brother who is a Vikings season ticket holder speaks with one of their scouts from time to time at events etc. He gets tidbits and insights etc. from the guy. He doesn't 'know him' as in he has his cell phone number type deal. They have just kind of gotten to know each other and he doesn't mind talking with my brother some. That said they ran into each other at the Kansas Jayhawks Spring game last weekend. ( I think the guy is an alum like my brother) and they talked football. I had told my brother about the discussions here and he decided to ask the guy what the deal was with RT's not going in the first. Well the guy pointed out the obvious BUT he said its changing somewhat. Teams are now wanting speed on both sides of the DL And OLB's to pressure the passer from both sides to further take away their comfort zones even further. So they are looking harder at RT's esp high in round 2 if they are athletic enough. The caveat is they normally plan to move them to LT in a year or so if they are that athletic. So bottom line it is possible we could take a RT in the first, but it isn't likely. Our #9 in the 2nd is a real definite possibility to solidify the OL although 3rd round is more likely. With the Mathews situation the kid is so damn athletic he is most likely going to be a LT for someone in the NFL. The other issue is top athletic guys want to be LT's because LT pay will always be much higher than RT. So if we were to trade down and take Mathews in the 1st we are going to have a big problem in about 4 years. Who do you pay? Glenn is a LT And has proven himself as a damn good LT And he is going to want to stay there and get paid LT pay, who can blame him. At some point one will leave the team as you cant pay a LT And RT Left Tackle money, it hurts the cap too much. Personally I want to see a trade down a few spots and take Ebron if still there or the top LB. If its LB take say Austin S Jenkins even with a slight move up and if we have another 2nd by trading down, take say JaWan James from Tenn to play RT for us.

I don't give a damn if he does or doesn't. Kelly, Marino, Elway etal never did. They played freaking Golf! Aikman never did as I saw him up here with his family in Oklahoma in the offseasons. All that stuff is fluff, just get your ass to training camp and WIN football games during the regular and post season. I don't give a damn what he does in the offseason.

Trent Edwards was a good leader and a crap QB. Its fine EJ is being a good leader, but we need him to win games and be a damn good QB. My point again is this, its a feel good story until it produces on the field. Guys I am past feel good stories, I want talent on the field and Wins. I don't give a crap if EJ does or doesn't lead camps, feeds the homeless, protects baby kittens etc. I would rather read of him tossing a bag of kittens INTO the burning building if the guy can win us a Damn Superbowl. The only feel good thing I want is the feeling when Russ Brandon holds up the Lombardi Trophy for us fans. Sorry to be a jerk about it, but after nearly two damn Decades, 4 superbowl losses, listening to Cowboy fans their team sucking and all ragging my ass about being a Bills fan, I want WINS. Not good stories, WINS And Superbowl trophies. Again I am sorry if that ruffles feathers, but isn't it time to quit settling for being jacked over stuff like a QB leading offseason workouts? Surely many of you get my point here.

That's great, but he needs to perform on the field. We have had perceived leaders, we need performance. Winning on the field is all that matters in the NFL.

My full first round mock draft
Kellyto83TD replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just gotta say good job working on this. -
Really? So far the value is only about 830 mill (waiting for new value to be determined). So if they are worth say 850 Mill and someone offers 1 Billion and that can't get it done, the I cant see them getting sold.

They are NOT getting a better LT than is on the roster. Glenn is now a veteran, a young veteran, who only gave up 1.5 sacks last year. Posts like this are what make me end up getting banned for a week due to the pure stupidity and lack of any football knowledge whatso ever of the poster

LT/RT Mathews or TE Ebron in R1??
Kellyto83TD replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes I can see him doing exactly that. You just do not take RT's in the top 10. your suggestion in italics is my idea scenario as well. But who knows, maybe Buffalo says screw common sense and takes a RT at #9, in this passing league they took a non full time RB at #9 a few years back so who knows right? -
Obviously someone hasn't seen 'draft day' yet. Go watch and see what it takes to get the #1 pick

LT/RT Mathews or TE Ebron in R1??
Kellyto83TD replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dear God let the draft get here. Mathews will not agree to play RT and you NEVER take a RIGHT TACKLE that high. If whaley does I am done with this team because he became flat stupid. -

Here is the bottom line, There is no other market in America wiling to sell out each season with a crap team like Buffalo Fans have. No fanbase in a new city will put up with that BS. And how are you going to move a perennially losing team? What City/State will envest in that? LA? No California is basically bankrupt. Bills fans will have to fork over more money for tickets (And they should) no more lowest in the NFL if you want to keep the team here. Luxury suites will need to be filled and screw being sentimental with Ralph, Naming rights must be sold. If that can happen I can't see the NFL letting essentially guanteed money walk out the door so to speak -
What would be "Buffalo Strong" to you?
Kellyto83TD replied to RevWarRifleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey can we get Gweneth Paltrow to sing the theme song to Buffalo Strong? -
He wants to start and Buffalo's Brass will not bring in anyone to actually compete with EJ and make him earn/win the job

Jay Glazer is one tough guy
Kellyto83TD replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can only speak from personal experience, if I wait till late in the afternoon to have surgery I am sick after puking up Bile/ Stomach acid. The stomach doesn't stop making the stuff just because you aren't eating. and since you aren't to help get rid of it... A surgery I had in September I woke up, went to the post op room and had to puke. It was pure blood. Did it 2 more times and that got the nurses going quickly. Then in comes this top old hat nurse that doctors were parting the way for and she noticed my Oxygen levels sucked. So we do a breathing treatment. I start coughing up blood. NOW people are starting to hop lol. long story short, the blade they used to insert the tube somehow cut my trachea, so I bled during surgery into my stomach and lungs. I was fortunate it was a short surgery or it could have been bad. **** like this just happens. My Dad took 5 years to die from emphysema. He started at 200lbs and was 98 lbs the day he died. The guy who does our family funerals had known my dad for over 40 years, he needed an old picture to help get him where he was for the funeral. Stuff like that is a horrible way to die -
Schefter: Bills tried acquiring Chris Johnson
Kellyto83TD replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha In before lock! BTW the guy isn't the Stud he used to be. Let them sign him I could give a rats ass. -
Show me a team that has a ton of both, you can't. Denver, Seattle, SF etal have players with 'issues'. Hell we made it to 4 superbowls with several so did Dallas etc. Lets try this again, Stevie isn't a #1 WR and getting paid like he is. He is a feel good story for the fans. From a pure football perspective I dump him, his attitude, and his salary. CJ is a feel good story too, Fans love the occasional long run, wonderful, but he isn't a 25 rush per game starter and that is what this team needs. He is in a contract year, I trade him now. You say put payton manning with these two feel good stories and they are better? I disagree. Denvers WR's had talent hell they made Tim Tebow look good! How could they not look good with a good QB? CJ? He has to stay on the field more than 3 plays at a time for payton to do anything with him. But I am not going to argue the point, Both Stevie and CJ should be traded now while they have value and lets upgrade RB so we can start making a run
-
If I were GM, CJ and Stevie both are trade bait during the draft. I trade DOWN, twice if I can. See what TE, LB, WR, Safety is there. If I am near the bottom of the round I might look at RT since we are close to the 2nd round. In the 2nd I am willing to address RT. Until I know what picks I have not sure what else I would do. If I stayed at #9, I go BPA on the board (which would NOT be a RT).
