1. This thread makes me laugh. I started a "Schobel Sucks" thread sometime around the halfway point of last year and every time Schobel had a game with a sack, there was a person who would resurrect the thread and rub it in my face. Can't remember who it was? Bastard! :D

  2. 2003 preseason:  Anquan Bolden...4 catches for 44 yards.

That clearly indicated to everyone that he was going to catch more than 100 passes for 1400 yards and eight TDs last season. </sarcasm>

I admit that Lee's performance so far this preseason has been less than stellar, but let's see what happens during the regular season.

Great find. Anquan truly came out of nowhere last year. If Lee could do half of that I would be happy...50 catches 700 yards 4 td

  3. The rumor mill is also stating the Bills may hold off until tomorrow when teams have to trim down rosters. Kordell might be on that list. I'd rather have Shane but at least Kordell knows the system.

Time is a wasting. I'd sign Matthews to the vet minimum, sit him down with a playbook, pizza & wings tonight. Then get him some practice time tomorrow and Wednesday and then give him some playing time on Thursday.

  4. Was that the era of Sherm White?

    11967

Good call. Sherm was the man!

Williams, Smerlas, White, Nelson, Robertson. Sing it.....Buffalo's got the spirit talking proud, talking proud, etc...... The Chuck Know era was a good one, especially after getting 10 years of ass kickings at the hands of Miami!

  5. I was just thinking that if they don't sign some kind of waiver/injury settlement...we would have two injured QBs on the roster, taking up roster spots and we would still need to carry another QB or two. I think that the Bills should sign an injury settlement with Travis Brown and tell him that they will re-sign him when he is healthy again, and then sign another backup QB for at least a month or however long Brown is out for.

    11958

Sign the injury settlement and go one step further....close the book on Travis Brown. He's had four years to show something. Isn't that long enough??

  6. He hasnt shown me jack squat so far, He goes down on the 1st or 2nd tackle and hasnt shown any real speed better than Travis. Dominic Rhodes, who knows hes the backup at best, WAY out plays McGahee and is WAY better right now.

Had McGahee shown more against starters, Id say the competition for the starting job is on, guess what theres no competition, Travis is our STUD.

Stick with whats proven, Travis is a GREAT back.

...and if WM rushed for 125 yards you were going to anoint him the starter?? TH is the starter for 2004 unless he goes down with an injury.

  7. Whew, that is great news!

However, in a way it's not...  How are we going to sign someone for 4-6 weeks?  Or do we sign them as the 2nd string for 4-6 weeks, then tell them their 3rd string for another 4-6 weeks, then they're cut?

Hmm....  Interesting, we'll have to see how this plays out.

Sign Shane Matthews or another vet and agree to an injury settlement with TB.

  8. DB is #1 and more than likely won't get hurt. Losman is the QB of the future possibly as early as next year. Pick up whoever you want on the F/A market or someone who gets cut in the next two weeks, but do not trade ANY draft pick for a guy who is nothing more than fodder between the time the season opens and when Losman can play again. Not even a 7th rounder!

  9. You are asumming that sacks are everything about a DE....Schoebel hasn't been able to apply the big QB pressure. Quite a few of his sacks have been coverage sacks...He rarely gets double teamed.  Also  his game against the Run has been

average to decent, not exceptional. He is a good player, but not a great player.

    11660

Nice summary ganesh. Seattle is going to find out what it's like first hand to overspend for a GOOD DE i.e Wistrom.

The question is, what is Plan B if the Bills decide to let AS hit the F/A market other than Marcus Jones???

  10. The players do get to eat. They're asked to help do the serving for about the first 15-20 minutes, then they're free to mingle.

And now that he's gone from the team, I can tell you a little story about my first year working at Taste Of The Season. I was near one of the exit doors of the club, talking to a few other Blue Coats, when out of the corner of my eye I see RJ. He's standing near the doors, looking around, and when he saw no one was watching him, he took off his serving apron, dropped it on a table a booked out the door. He was at the event only about 10 minutes.

    11614

You bastard RJ! Just another reason to dispise the guy. $25 million, a 1st round and a 4th round pick!!! ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

  11. I don't really care if they run or pass as long as the chains keep moving. The problem last year was that they couldn't execute a pass play if their life depended on it(combination of poor QB'ing, bad OL and non existant WR play). I really believe you have to mix it up and keep the defense off balance which means the occassional pass on running downs and vice versa. We don't have the dominant OL where we can say..."We are going to run the ball, you know it and you can't stop us."

  12. Who would you rather have, Schoebel or Jennings.  That's likely the choice this offseason.  TD is being prudent.

Personally, I think Schoebel is solid but not exceptional.  That's a lot of money for a "solid" DE.  Teams actually have to gameplan around Ogunleye and Ellis.  I doubt anyone is game planning around Schoebel.

I would prefer Jennings, but throwing a lot of money at him scares me because of his injury history.
