  1. from cbs sportsline....

    Steve Smith, WR CAR

News: According to reports, Steve Smith suffered more than just a broken leg in Week 1. He also suffered soft tissue damage around the break, and doctors used staples to re-attach at least one ligament in his ankle.

Doesn't look good for hanging on to Smith. If the Panthers get off to a slow start, look for him to hit the IR in a hurry.

  2. Does Mularkey have something BIG planned??? Let me guess....

ICE's BIG size 12 boot getting ready to go where the sun don't shine?

BIG letters on the whiteboard that say "DON'T BE DUMB & DON'T BE STUPID!!!!?

Punching a BIG hole in the wall trying to fire up the team before the game?

A BIG screen TV in the locker room equipped with HDTV, DirectTV & the NFL Ticket?

The movie BIG being shown on their flight to Oakland?

    Am I missing any??

  3. Do you have to have a backup for all your positions?  A. Gates and Bledsoe are wastes.

Antonio Gates is a waste? Did you see his week 1 stats? You either keep him in case Gonzo gets hurt or use him in a possible trade later down the road. Maybe even trade Gonzo, if Gates continues to produce. You don't want to cut a quality backup if you don't have to.

  4. Both parties are at fault. First of all you have the George Steinbrenners of the NHL who have been jacking up salaries for the last 5-10 years in an attempt to BUY a Stanley Cup. Then you have the players who now expect all owners to pony up the kind of money being handed out by the aforementioned George's! As a result of this, fans are asked to pay outrageous ticket prices for a game that is a shell of it former self. You go to a game hoping to see great skating, high skill levels and hitting, but instead you are much more likely to see 60 minutes of clutching & grabbing in what amounts to wrestling on ice.

The NHL has been a disaster under Gary Bettman. Go back to the fuggin' NBA you hack!!

  5. If I remember right you are in a 14 team league? If so, where RB depth is always a problem, consider Kevin Faulk if he wasn't drafted. He's a third down back, but if you get points for yards and receptions, he is a nice emergency fill in. Plus Dillon has been injury prone in the past, where Faulk would then step in as a starter.

  6. THE BLACK HOLE IS A TOUGH CROWD.

THe ball must be pounded and pounded from the jump.

That way the passing will open up and as for CHARLES WOODSON he lost his step, age and injuries have slowed him up. The passing game will oepn up just like the BILLS/VIKINGS game when Drew threw the winning TD to Peerless Price

    BILS WIN

Are you mixing up Charles Woodson with Rod Woodson????

  7. Why pray tell would you want Gallery to be successful?  Sarcasm perhaps? :)

Hopefully he screws up just enough.  He looks really good, but mistakes will come.

No sarcasm, just a fan of his from his college days. For this week though, I hope he ***** the bed on every play he is in there for.

  8. Nobody ran Winfield out of town. I think most here liked him and realized he was a good corner. The problem was the money. There was no way they could pay him what Minny was and he had his heart set on cashing in.

By the time F/A came along the price had skyrocketed. My strategy would have been to lock up AW prior to the start of the 2003 season and let NC walk when his contract runs out after 2005. Maybe TD tried to do this, maybe not. Only he knows.

As far as TSW goes, the old database is gone, but there were plenty of "he never gets any int's let him go" posts after the season ended.
