Hey SOPRANO, while I believed you and supported you, I'll wait until they sign on the dotted line before I do cartwheels. Too much can happen, like it did with FARKING SHERMAN for me to be able to handle another disappointment. I'll be very happy if these guys ARE the coordinators, but I'll wait to express my glee.
You are now ready to snatch the pebble from my hand grasshopper.

I don't recall MM having this much animosity right off the bat. In fact, he came off as a reasonably good "anti-GW" at the time.
Bills nation is at a very fragil point in its history right now. The torches and pitchforks have been running high for the past year, and this franchise needed a "big positive" to quell the unease about the team's future direction.
Jauron isn't going to have much of a honeymoon, given the current mood, IMO.
That's because some "insider" didn't come here a week prior to MM's hiring and proclaim that Bill Walsh one of the all-time most successful coaches was coming out of retirement to coach the Bills, only to have it turn out that it was all bull sh--.

Honestly. Is this someone to get excited about? He is very boring. Hasn't produced a good team in 5+ years. He will be run out of town if they get off to a bad start and has no credibility as a coach if they start out poorly. It will be here we go again--another Jauron team that sucks. I can't believe this, I really can't!
Guys like Bill Walsh & Tom Landry also looked pretty boring on the sidelines....and not being boring is important as a HC in what way?
-
Just look at Jauron's performance as Head Coach of the Buffalo Bills to date:
Record: 0-0
Record against the Division: 0-0
Record at the Ralph: 0-0
Bad decisions made: 0
Good decisions made: 0
You are ALL so right!!!! Why bother even giving Jauron a chance??? You are ALL experts, YOU all know EXACTLY what is going to happen....Jauron WAS a failure in Chicago.....he had SO much time to prove himself with the Lions and that dysfunctional francshise, why even bother??
Start the Ebay auctions RIGHT NOW, sell ALL your Bills merchandise, yearbooks, future tickets etc....
How can I be such a fool to give this coach a chance? This is the INSTANT GRATIFICATION world is sports now, I need to know RIGHT now how good or bad a coach will be....I NEED TO BE THE FIRST to tell you who will be coach...LOOK AT ME!!! LOOK AT ME!!!!
Ive had it. The knee-jerk reactions on this board has become borderline instantity.
Great post, but this is no time for logic when the roller coaster brake cable snapped and there is no stopping it.
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE............HERE COMES THE BIG DROP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can hear all the riders now.....JJJJAAAAAAURRROOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN YYYOOOOOUUU SUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.

No, no crystal ball. But if I have to pick a guy with a losing record as a HC, he damn well better have some other successes on his resume like a couple of SB rings as a coordinator, time spent working with a proven winner like Tuna, etc. Jauron's got one -- count em, one -- good year under his belt and even Bears fans chalk that up as a fluke.
I'm pissed because he's largely an unknown HC quantity. This team, right now at this point in time, needed a proven winner to give the fans some hope after the last five years of disapointment under TD. Dick is definately not going to insipre a parade at OBD next week.
If Sherman was such a no-brainer, why did all the other teams pass him by for guys with no HC experience. There's something more than meets the eye and I wish Soprano 90210 was here to fill in the blanks on why all the HC jobs have been filled and Sherm finds himself without one of them.

I'll tell you what...if it was TD & MM in 2006, I'd be right there with you, but any change for me at this point is a positive one. I'm ready for training camp...who's with me?
-
Guys like Wannestedt and Turner have rings from their Dallas days and look what that got them when they went elsewhere. The both sucked hind tit and still do as HC's. I don't give a damn what the guy did previously, all I care about is how the Bills look come September and unless you have a crystal ball, you don't have a clue how Jauron will work out as the HC of the Bills.

Poor SOPRANO 3695! This person tried to give us information and now people are calling for a head. I don't care if the information is accurate or not, it's been highly entertaining and I enjoyed the suspense. Thanks for the excitement SOPRANO. Nothing is official yet anyways, so maybe some people should just wait until the jury is in before they over react. Even if SOPRANO is a fraud all the more kudos to you for being so clever and insightful. What was that saying that PT Barnum used to say? Something about a sucker being born every day or something like that. Could that be part of it for some people being upset?
The reason why some posters heads are exploding right now is because Mr. Soprano had everyone convinced that Sherman was the next HC and therefore that's what the "Angry Mob" wants now.
Me...I'm okay with Jauron and was never convinced about Deep Throat...I mean Soprano 90210.

"When he's healthy and motivated, there's absolutely no question he's the best in the country," Bellotti said. "He hasn't always been healthy, and it took him a couple games to get motivated, in all honesty. " -- Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti
"When he turns it on, he's something special," Aliotti said. "Unfortunately, big men like that sometimes get tired, get a little overweight and don't always turn it on. But when Haloti's on his game, he's a force. He can be one of the finest defensive tackles that ever played. -- Oregon DC Nick Aliotti
Anybody else find these quotes troubling?
Tough call when deciding the type of player to draft...
1. Great potential, pro bowl ability, but some questions in terms of effort
or
2. High motor guy, always gives 100%, but has limits in terms of athletic ability.
I've seen enough of #2, give me some guys that are more like #1 and cross your fingers that your front office staff can pick the right guy and the coaching staff can mold them into pro bowlers!

I'm just saying buyer beware. He could be looking to cash in one last time before calling it a career.
Found this on a football info site(from 2004)...And Jackson is 32 and wearing down with knee problems. Jackson missed five weeks last year with knee problems, and the Packer run D was pretty bad until Jackson returned. But as the season went on, those knees got worse again, and the Packers run defense declined significantly in the last few weeks of the season, as teams began running around the increasingly immobile Jackson:

I had sent a copy of WGR's wickedly funny Teddy Bruschi parody that was made following the ESPN game where Bruschi came back from his stroke to my relative who then forwarded it to TD's family friend who then in turn forwarded it to TD.
TD thought it was extremely funny and played it for the entire team following the Sunday night game.
Very believable. Keep the insider info coming.

Oooooo, I just saw that Kevin Shaffer's name is on that list! If he makes it to free agency, he's a guy I'd love to see come to Buffalo. Very underrated player, not well-known...started the last two seasons as Atlanta's LT, still very young. Would be a great addition.
BGiM's Free Agency Wish List: (No Bentley because every team in the NFL will go after him...we cant compete...I'm trying to be realistic here)
1) Kevin Shaffer, OT from Atlanta
2) Steve Neal, OT/OG from New England
3) Grady Jackson, DT from Green Bay.
Add to this my mock draft underneath and you'd have a very solid offseason. Two new starters on the O-Line (possibly 3 if you count O'Callaghan who I think is going to excel at the NFL level), and a Grady Jackson/Haloti Ngata interior D-Line...Thats a lot of beef!
BGiM...doesn't Grady have chronic problems with both his knees?

In a stunning turn of events, 5 year old little Jimmy Watson apologized to MM's child for calling his daddy an idiot and this prompted MM to ask for, and get his job back.
HC - MM
OC- TC
DC - JG
DL - TK
Status quo for 2006.

That would be a trick that they learned from the Coach. Prop them up and then you can really kick them when they're down. Who loves you baby.
